Trembling At A High Altitude

Chapter 73 Hell Mode

"What do you think Anna was dreaming about just now?" Elsa, a female white-collar worker watching the live broadcast, asked Gao Fei and Daisy beside her.

"Don't know, but it was kind of weird," Gao Fei chuckled, he had a girlfriend now, making him something of a veteran driver.

"Didn't she say it? Fighting with someone, a life-and-death struggle," Daisy chimed in.

"Don't play dumb! As a grown woman like you, what don't you understand?" Elsa glanced disdainfully at Daisy.

...

"I think this woman is done for, hoping she kills that scumbag is impossible now, she's a completely different person than yesterday, all that ferociousness is gone after seeing that jerk," Pretty Boy Du Qing commented as he watched the live broadcast.

"Damn it all," Feng Dahai was clearly disappointed as well.

"Good people don't last, but a scourge lingers for a thousand years!" Huang Xun also gave up any hope of Anna killing Li Teng.

...

"The plane is about to land, passengers please fasten your seat belts."

After hearing the flight attendant's voice, Li Teng peered out the plane window.

The weather today was good, the visibility was quite high, and he could already see the ground, which seemed to be over a mountainous wilderness.

As the plane descended, it was about to land, and a long flight was finally coming to an end.

Li Teng suddenly felt like this scene had happened before.

In the dream just now?

What did the flight attendant say in the dream? An air disaster?

Could an air disaster really happen?

Had the shooting of Hell Mode already begun?

If it was an air crash, then the difficulty of this Hell Mode scenario would be way too high.

There was simply no chance of survival!

Hopefully, it was just an ordinary dream that wouldn't actually come true.

The plane continued its rapid descent, and everything in the cabin still seemed very normal, Li Teng kept looking around, trying to see if there were any signs of an air disaster happening.

"What are you looking at?" Anna noticed something was off with Li Teng's expression.

"Just seeing if there might be a crash," Li Teng laughed.

"Don't jinx it!" Anna glared at Li Teng, if the plane crashed, it wouldn't just be seven deaths out of eight, it would be total annihilation.

The plane continued to descend, and from the window, the buildings on the ground below became clearly visible.

Soon, the plane reached the airport runway overhead and landed steadily according to the established procedure.

"The plane is about to land, everyone please sit tight and do not move, wait until the plane has completely stopped before retrieving any luggage," the flight attendant cautioned some passengers who were impatiently unbuckling their seat belts and getting up.

"Air disaster? Some people just love to spread rumors! This isn't a movie theater," Anna glanced again at Li Teng, probably recalling the earlier moment when Li Teng mentioned Titanic.

"Haha, just joking," Li Teng, seeing the airport control tower appear normally outside the window, finally let go of the anxiety that had been hanging over him.

It seemed like the shooting of Hell Mode hadn't officially started yet, both he and Anna were a bit overly nervous.

Just when everyone thought that the plane would land normally, a sudden 'bang' came from ahead, seeming to be the plane's nose hitting the runway first, the fuselage jerked, and then the plane sharply pulled up from the runway again.

A male passenger in front of Li Teng had ignored the flight attendant's advice, unfastened his seat belt, and was grabbing his luggage when he suddenly 'whooshed' up into the air, his head hitting the luggage compartment above, blood smeared all over his face, and the female passenger beside him screamed in shock at the sight.

Before the woman's scream had stopped, passengers heard the rear wheels of the plane hit the runway with a 'bang!' and other parts of the plane started making 'creak, creak' noises as the entire fuselage began to shake violently.

Anna's face instantly turned pale.

Li Teng wasn't faring much better than her.

This captain's flying skills are terrible, aren't they? In such good weather, how could he botch a normal landing?

"I wasn't lying to you, an airplane disaster really is about to happen," Li Teng muttered.

"You really are a jinx! A disaster magnet! I'm going to stay away from you from now on!" Anna was still in shock.

"What's happening?" The wife of the couple sitting behind Li Teng asked her husband with a trembling voice.

"It's nothing, it's nothing, the plane has already landed, and in a moment we'll be able to get off," the husband reassured his wife, but his teeth were clearly chattering.

"I don't want to die..." the wife began to cry, her eyes wide with fear.

"Everyone, don't panic! Quickly get back to your seats! Fasten your seat belts!" A flight attendant was yelling hoarsely from the rear of the plane.

"Could a real disaster be happening? Was that just not a nightmare I had?" Li Teng struggled to suppress his nervousness, then carefully recalled the dream that had preceded this.

In that nightmare, there was a flight attendant.

The flight attendant's body was torn in two.

Then, the plane disintegrated in the air.

After the plane fell apart, most passengers, along with their seats, were thrown out...

The height they were thrown from might have been over a thousand meters.

Even if it wasn't that high, falling from several hundreds or just tens of meters, ordinary people would have no chance of survival.

Right, what did the flight attendant in the nightmare say?

"The plane is about to crash, strive to survive!"

Strive to survive? If there's really a disaster, how can you survive?

After the captain lifted the plane back up from the runway, he started to circle around the airport, looking for an opportunity to land again, and the entire fuselage kept making 'crack, crack' sounds, as if some metal parts were breaking and then being forced back together, before breaking again.

The fuselage stabilized eventually, but two flight attendants with pale faces were walking up and down the aisle, trying to fix the fallen ceiling panels back into place. No sooner had they fixed the ones in front than the panels at the back started falling apart again.

Li Teng noticed that the flight attendants were constantly trembling as they did this, clearly frightened themselves, just trying to distract themselves by focusing on these tasks.

According to the director, including Li Teng and Anna, only eight actors were participating in the Hell Mode filming, and these flight attendants and other passengers should all be ordinary staff.

If this is part of filming Hell Mode, do they all have to die with us?

"The fuselage has been deformed! It's unlikely we can land normally! We really are experiencing a disaster!" A male passenger sitting in front of Li Teng said to his companion, pointing outside the window in terror.

"Can't be? I don't want to die!" his companion cried out in despair.

Li Teng glanced outside the window; he hadn't yet spotted any deformation of the fuselage, concluding that the fellow in front probably had illusions from being terrified out of his wits.

"Honey, let's go to the cabin door. As soon as the plane lands, we can run out," the husband behind Li Teng whispered to his wife.

"The flight attendant told us not to move!" The wife shook her head. It was clear that she was paralyzed by her fear, gripping her husband's arm tightly, unable to even stand.

"If it really is a disaster, all we can do is wait to die," said the husband with a despondent expression.

Some passengers, panic-stricken, stood up and looked around, and when the flight attendant saw passengers getting up, she quickly rushed over and requested them to sit down and fasten their seat belts.

Just then, the fuselage suddenly shook violently, causing the flight attendant to lose her balance and scream as she fell into the aisle.

Li Teng felt something was wrong... The row of seats beneath him and Anna was no longer secure and started to sway back and forth! A more terrifying 'crack' came from the fuselage, and he looked out the window again, only to discover that the two-layered window had shattered and the inner layer had fallen out!

A strange scent filled the air, an undefinable smell.

Perhaps, it was the smell of death.

"I feel that Hell Mode has already started! Hell Mode's commencement probably wasn't announced! The good news is, we eight actors don't need to figure out who is who anymore, nor do we have to kill each other. The bad news is, for this scene, there's no way out for us! All eight of us actors might be wiped out together!" Anna said angrily and unwillingly.
