Trembling At A High Altitude

Chapter 141: Galaxy Technology (4th update, asking for monthly passes)

"At least peel it before you eat it!" the Bunny Girl was speechless.

"Potato skins can provide energy, can't waste them," Li Teng shook his head.

"Ah, you..." Bunny Girl didn't know what else to say.

"I forgot you don't eat potatoes. I should have bought you carrots just now," Li Teng remembered something.

"Oh? Why?"

"You're a bunny!

"..."

After eating three raw potatoes, Li Teng did not feel any discomfort and felt energized again, so he went back to the treadmill to run.

Bunny Girl followed him and ran together.

"I don't want to stay here. When can this scene be over?" Bunny Girl spoke up.

"What's not good about this place? You can get food. Do you want to go back up the pillar? Suffering from wind and sun, and always worrying about falling off," Li Teng retorted.

"It's okay? If I don't go out, I won't fall off," Bunny Girl muttered.

"Hm?" Li Teng heard what Bunny Girl said, feeling a bit strange.

Bunny Girl remained silent.

"You couldn't have... come here with the house, could you?" Li Teng asked Bunny Girl.

"Not the house, only my bedroom came with me." Bunny Girl hesitated for a while before answering Li Teng.

"Your bedroom? Your bedroom came with you?" Li Teng was shocked.

"I don't know how it happened either; it seems you guys said only the bed, but I indeed appeared at the top of the pillar with my bedroom," Bunny Girl softly replied to Li Teng, something she initially didn't want to discuss but couldn't help feeling puzzled about.

"If your bedroom appeared with you at the pillar top, then why were you wearing your pajamas the day you came over? Isn't there a wardrobe in your room?" Li Teng spotted a discrepancy in Bunny Girl's statement.

"Wardrobe? I don't have a wardrobe; my clothes are kept in a separate room, shoes in another room, and bags in yet another room, but those rooms didn't come with me, so I could only wear my pajamas," Bunny Girl answered Li Teng.

"My goodness..." Li Teng rubbed his forehead.

"Poverty has limited my imagination," Li Teng quickly understood what was going on.

Could it be that in the real world, the rich, when kidnapped, didn't just bring a bed? Could they transport their entire bedroom to the top of a pillar?

"If your bedroom came with you, then don't you have a lot of stuff? Like a phone, tea cups, a table, chairs..." Li Teng thought of something else.

"The phone is gone, but I do have tea cups, a table, chairs, and the like. When it rains, I can use a cup to catch water from outside the door to drink. It's just too scary; I fear slipping and falling off," Bunny Girl nodded.

"Is the pillar you're on very thick?" Li Teng asked Bunny Girl another question.

"It's the same length and width as my bedroom," Bunny Girl nodded again.

"Does your bedroom have a roof?"

"Yes,"

"So, you're not exposed to wind and sun at all." Li Teng sighed. He had previously bought her a down jacket, but if her place wasn't as harsh in climate as his and she stayed in her bedroom, she would not be freezing anyway.

Wealthy people, no matter where they are, are different from these lower-class poor folks.

There isn't much to complain about here, after all, their parents or grandparents put in more effort to create better conditions for them.

"Little Bunny, what is your name? I won't tell anyone," Li Teng asked the Bunny Girl again.

"My family name is Liu, and my first name is Liu Yin. Actually, I didn't mean to hide it from you guys; initially, I was worried that you all were bad people, trying to kidnap me for ransom from my dad," the Bunny Girl hesitated for a moment but still revealed her name.

"Liu... Yin? I've heard this name before... You wouldn't happen to be... Boss Liu's daughter from Galaxy Technology? Is your sister called Liu Hui?" Li Teng suddenly remembered something.

Galaxy Technology, a top 500 global company, researches high-tech artificial intelligence.

Boss Liu is also a fixture among the richest people in the rankings.

"You know my dad and my sister?" The Bunny Girl was somewhat surprised.

"I worked at your dad's company," Li Teng remembered when he had first heard the name Liu Yin. It was a coworker who had mentioned it while he was working there, saying the company boss had two daughters, beautiful as flowers, the elder named Liu Hui and the younger Liu Yin. Marrying one of them meant one wouldn't have worries in life.

At that time, Li Teng, having just graduated from university, full of youthful ambition, thought that with his looks, he stood a chance, so he quietly memorized these two names, but later realized there was no opportunity, and gradually forgot about them.

He never thought he'd run into her here.

There was now a chance, but it was meaningless.

Liu Yin could never have imagined that this stranger she had never met before had harbored intentions for a few months, even though he hadn't known what she looked like.

"Oh? Have I met you before? Which department were you in? I'm quite familiar with those department heads; our family often invites them to banquets. Have you visited our house too?" Liu Yin was quite thrilled to encounter someone familiar.

"Visit your house? I did a few months of copywriting work at an office under a branch your dad's company opened in River City. I guess your family's parties wouldn't invite someone like me," Li Teng said somewhat awkwardly.

"Oh." Liu Yin also felt awkward.

"The supervisor at our office embezzled company funds; I was the one who reported him to the branch, helping the company recover hundreds of thousands in losses, but the company didn't acknowledge my effort. Moreover, I've been continually harassed by that person, all the way to Film and Television City, where during my first scene, I encountered that supervisor," Li Teng still held some grudges about this incident.

"Really? I didn't know, otherwise, I would have talked to my dad about it," Liu Yin sympathized deeply with Li Teng's experience.

As for the losses of several hundred thousand... it was trivial, not even enough for one of her handbags.

"Galaxy Technology deals with artificial intelligence... Could your father and his company have some connections with Film and Television City?" Li Teng suddenly thought of something.

He had unexpectedly run into the daughter of the boss of Galaxy Technology and even formed a CP with her during a performance.

It seemed, his encounter with Guo Zhipeng during his first scene wasn't just coincidence.

"I'm not very sure," Liu Yin shook her head.

"You wouldn't likely know," Li Teng sighed.

"Recently, just before coming here, I heard that our company's artificial intelligence technology had made new breakthroughs. It might be possible to use robots to replace actors in the future; I wonder if it's related to this?" Liu Yin thought for a moment and spoke again.

"I don't know," Li Teng smiled.

The people he had met, Yao Xue, Liu Yin, Yao Xue's mother's laboratory, Liu Yin's father's artificial intelligence, could these be two crucial elements behind Film and Television City?

In the unseen realm, was it some Mysterious Power that had brought them to his side?

Was it intentional?

Or simply a coincidence?
