Chapter 177: Compass Eye_2
"Really?" Lucilia looked pleasantly surprised. She immediately jumped onto Alka's shoulder and patted his ear.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go, let's go!"
Hearing Lucilia's excited voice, Alka shook his head with an amused smile, stood up, and joined the others in selecting their rooms.
By dusk, everyone had placed their personal items in their chosen rooms.
Pororo and Julia naturally stayed in the rooms designed for them in advance. Their rooms were located at the bow and stern of the lower deck, with direct access to the ocean, allowing them to dive straight in from the sea surface.
Alka had already granted them ship access; in fact, everyone on board had permissions tailored to their roles.
Juanlu chose a room at the rear of the sterncastle's first floor. This gave him quick access to the lower-deck kitchen and was close to the small dining room where everyone ate.
Alka and Jason took rooms on the second floor of the sterncastle, with a large entertainment lounge located behind them.
The third floor housed a large bathroom, along with Chadite and Lucilia's rooms.
Further up was an open-air balcony, featuring a retractable awning and several simple deck chairs.
With that, the room assignments were complete.
Alka steered the Sound of Dawn to a berth in the harbor.
As the sun began to set, everyone gathered in the garden plaza on deck.
Lucilia and Julia were discussing what to plant in this little garden and which trees would be good to grow.
"Speaking of which, we still don't have a team name, do we?" Chadite suddenly spoke, looking toward the harbor.
Indeed, the reason they hadn't come up with a decent name before was because they didn't have a decent ship. The Spell Ship they had been using was, frankly, a hand-me-down.
Now that they had their own ship, it was time to give their team a proper name.
"Alright everyone, it's time to pick a name. Let's hear your suggestions."
"How about the Man-Eating Shark Treasure Hunting Team?" Pororo suggested once more.
His suggestion was met with helpless looks from the others. Why did he have to be so fixated on man-eating sharks? This proposal was mercilessly rejected.
Pororo was indignant, grumbling that no one understood fishmen and that their aesthetic tastes were too strange.
"Death's Fist?" Jason suddenly suggested.
Chadite waved her hand dismissively. "We're not pirates, and that name is too inauspicious." There was always a touch of superstition when sailing the seas.
Alka pondered for a moment, then suggested, "Why not call ourselves Compass Eye?"
He was thinking of his own ability and their shared goal. The symbolism of the Compass was clear: it represented Alka's precision in locating Treasures. It was like having built-in navigation, a precise Compass in this world of oceans. The 'Eye' naturally referred to his eyes, which were capable of seeing Treasures.
Upon hearing Alka's proposal, everyone began to ponder. The more they thought about it, the more it seemed to suit them.
"That name's pretty good. I like it."
"I think it's fine too."
"..."
Eventually, everyone agreed to this proposal, mainly because they didn't seem to have much talent for naming. Since the name sounded quite good, there were naturally no objections.
"Alright, then we'll be the Compass Eye Treasure Hunting Team."
With that, Alka lowered the topmost flag and began discussing with the others what kind of emblem their team should have.
After some discussion, they painted the white flag a water-blue color and added an irregular, mud-brown Island at the bottom as a base design. Then, using Chadite's brushes and dyes, they painted their representative emblem.
Silver lines sketched out a simple Compass, with a gold-lined pupil in its center. A Pointer aimed straight upwards, indicating north. This Pointer was adorned with white, blue, and gold dots, painted using a precious mixture containing transparent crushed diamonds. Alka had added this detail on his own initiative, believing it symbolized something beautiful—at least, it certainly did for them.
Afterward, they raised the flag again, hoisting it to the top of the mast. They also planned to paint the largest sail on the main mast with the same emblem and background color later.
"It's already dusk. Should we go back?" Alka suddenly asked.
To Alka's question, everyone looked at each other and shook their heads.
Seeing this, Alka couldn't help but smile. "Haha, I don't want to go back either!"
Upon hearing this, Juanlu rolled up his sleeves. "In that case, to celebrate our new ship and new team name, I'll use the ingredients from the cold storage to cook a grand feast for everyone! This time, I'll give it my absolute all to prove that your judgment in choosing me was sound!"
Good heavens! So your previous cooking wasn't even your full strength? Everyone's eyes lit up.
"Great idea!" Jason exclaimed, standing up immediately in agreement.
"I'll send a message to my dad and the others," Chadite said. As she rubbed her fingers, a small blue bird materialized and flew off.
Alka nodded, then a thought struck him. "Let's stay on the ship for the next few months then. It feels a bit awkward to keep imposing on Bobby by using his villa. If there's somewhere you want to go, remember to mention it. Also, there's very little furniture on the ship. If there's anything you want, remember to buy it."
