Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 173 Task Delivery_3

The intention was to see who it was more suitable for, and then hand this Treasure to them.

However, Julia's time mastering the Frost Nova was not without gain; she successfully acquired a Spell.

Everyone knew this Treasure was meant for the Church, so Julia deliberately tried to comprehend it during the time she controlled the Treasure.

This was more suitable for her, and she successfully separated a part, specifically the non-core Coldness.

The [Frost Breath] allowed Julia to wield a Coldness similar to that emitted from her semi-transparent Frost Blade. By relying on the Treasure, she quickly mastered it and could enhance its power through the Frost Blade in her hand.

「The ship slowly sailed into the berth.」

The group finally returned to the Great Cathedral after a long absence.

"You all go to Bobby's place first. I'll go hand over the task."

Hearing Alka's words, everyone nodded.

Alka, carrying a box in one hand, walked directly towards the center of the Island.

The others, including Juanlu, went around to the other side, heading to Bobby's house.

It was still before noon. Pilgrims bustled on the streets, and Alka struggled to reach the back of the Great Cathedral.

When he arrived at the back, he saw an elderly man smiling at him, as if anticipating his arrival and waiting quietly.

Alka looked at the Archbishop in front of him, carrying two boxes, and approached.

"Haha, with the Holy Light shining bright and the wheat swaying today, I was wondering if something good might happen."

Alka walked up, nodded at the Archbishop, and said, "Mission accomplished without disgrace."

The Archbishop chuckled cheerfully, then beckoned Alka to follow him inside the Cathedral.

Alka followed closely behind him.

"I didn't expect you to actually succeed. Truly remarkable."

"Oh, you flatter me."

"Don't be too modest, or what will those who can't compare to you do? Hahaha."

The two chatted idly as they followed the Archbishop into the Cathedral, with Church Staff around them bowing in respect.

They came to a more private chapel.

Inside, Alka placed the Treasure Chest containing the Frost Nova on the ground. He then opened it, taking out the Treasure and handing it to the Archbishop in front of him.

"This is the Treasure you asked me to find, something once belonging to the chieftain of the Frost Bloodline, the Holy Grail Level Treasure [Frost Nova]."

The Archbishop took it, looking at the blue Treasure Pearl in his hand and the silver spiral base below.

Magic Power, infused with intense Holy Light, flowed from his hand into the blue Treasure Pearl.

The Frost Nova trembled twice but no longer resisted, emitting a faint blue glow as the Magic Power poured in.

Seeing this, Alka slightly narrowed his eyes.

There was no rejection. However, the Treasure's tremor just now was a very obvious sign of rejection, which was quickly suppressed. Although Alka had never seen such a situation, it might be related to something he knew. The Archbishop wielded a Treasure of a level higher than the Holy Grail, and the Frost Nova, being Holy Grail Level, had submitted.

The surrounding environment turned cold.

The Archbishop nodded in satisfaction, withdrew his Magic Power, and placed the Treasure back into the Treasure Chest Alka had brought, closing it again.

"Very good. No problem at all."

Saying this, the Archbishop looked at Alka and said, "Do you know? This Treasure is not that important to the Church. The reason we spent so much time searching for it is because its negative effects affected the Extreme Cold Triangle Zone."

"Do you know what that region was called 800 years ago?"

"What was it called?" Alka really didn't know.

"Lush Three Islands. It was considered the most important candidate for a Home Island."

At this point, the Archbishop stopped talking.

Candidate for a Home Island? Could this be referring to a Home Island? Home Island was just a generic term, not referring to a specific island. In the entire Homeland Sea, Alka knew there were about six Home Islands. Their trait was having very special crop yields—gifts from the Holy Mother. For example, the Golden Wheat from Golden Wheat Island was a very delicious and relatively expensive grain. Each Home Island had similar plants, said to be the evidence of their status as Home Islands, bestowed by the Holy Mother when they became such. Such crops were not found outside these Home Islands. Does "candidate" imply the potential to ascend? To become a new Home Island?

To Alka's question, the Archbishop answered directly, "The three Islands in that area have received blessings from the Holy Mother many times because several famous Church members emerged from those three Islands, contributing to the Church and the Holy Mother."

"But due to the Treasure, all three Islands were affected at once, which made some Church members very unhappy. They felt that as long as those three Islands were not fully restored, it would be blasphemy against the Holy Mother."

"Restoring them to their previous environment is our main objective for finding this Treasure."

Hearing the Archbishop's explanation, Alka finally nodded.

It was something of a coincidence. The three candidate Home Islands were close to each other, and as a result, all three were affected by a single Treasure. This somewhat affected the Church's reputation internally. Externally, before becoming Home Islands, no one knew these three Islands were candidates. After all, there were so many Islands worshipping the Holy Mother.

"Alright, since you've completed your task, I'll also fulfill my promised commitment."

After speaking, the Archbishop smiled. A transparent radiance appeared in his hand, slightly distorting the surrounding air.

A mass of warped space emerged in his hand, with objects within the space beginning to reveal themselves.

(Something came up today, only one update. Normal updates will resume tomorrow.)
