Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 167: Ancient Relic Treasure

[Hidden Treasure]

[Difficulty: Lava Tolerant, Powerful (Three Spirals)]

[Fame: 56]

[Treasure Information: None]

This was the earliest Treasure Information Alka had obtained. At the time, apart from the Difficulty, no other details were revealed. Due to various reasons back then, coupled with his insufficient strength, he had been unable to pursue it and had pushed it to the back of his mind.

When he began preparing to head to this Volcano Island to find this Treasure, Alka had already started investigating the area and the Island. Such publicly available information was very easy to find.

The place where the Treasure was hidden was called the Jike Warm Sea. It seemed that due to that Volcano Island, the temperature of this sea area was consistently higher than that of the surrounding waters.

He also learned from the Church that this region was prone to producing some Spell Materials related to flames. Unexpectedly, this sea area was a neighbor to the Extreme Cold Triangle Zone.

However, unlike the Extreme Cold Triangle Zone, whose cold history only spanned 800 years, the Jike Warm Sea seemed to have been hot since records began.

Alka looked at the Compass in his palm. This peculiar Spell Compass originated from an item they had found in Sad's Treasure Vault during his youth. It had been discovered along with this Treasure Map and always pointed to the Island where the Treasure Map indicated.

The Pointer kept facing forward, indicating that Alka and his team were on the right course, almost completely confirming it was that Island.

As for the islands located in the Jike Warm Sea, there was no single ruling force. The islands in this sea area were all governed by small alliances or autonomous forces. They traded amongst themselves. Similarly, while there were some relatively large islands, they were not well-known, making it a relatively peaceful sea area.

Consequently, there wasn't much in terms of special produce. After all, Spell Materials had little to do with ordinary people, not to mention this area was in a relatively remote corner of the entire Homeland Sea—almost at its southernmost point, near the southeastern corner, with no geographical advantages or major trade routes.

The Island where the Treasure was located was called Vortex Island, an island almost entirely dominated by a volcano. Two-thirds of the Island was covered by the volcano; only a ring around the edge remained, possibly formed by volcanic eruptions expanding outward over the years.

It would be more accurate to say this was a volcano that had risen from the seabed, rather than an Island. Almost no one lived on Vortex Island, and the environment was quite harsh. This was the limited information Alka and his team knew.

When Alka sat in the captain's cabin and once again laid the old map out in front of him, he tapped on the light spots on it. This time, I should be able to get more information, making this trip fruitful.

[Ancient Relic]

[Difficulty: Lava Tolerant, Powerful (Three Spirals)]

[Fame: 56]

[Treasure Information: Buried beneath the magma.]

Sure enough, once he knew more about the Treasure's surrounding environment, the light spots on the map provided more information, although it was still extremely limited. But it was now completely confirmed: it was beneath the magma.

Alka looked at the Difficulty. Lava Tolerant... that means to get the Treasure, I'll have to venture into this lava. I'll also need the power of Three Spirals. There are possibly powerful creatures around the lava or volcano, clearly guarding this Treasure.

However, from the limited information Alka had obtained, there was no such record. This indicates they are well-hidden, existing solely to guard this Treasure.

Achieving Three Spirals was no longer a problem for their current team; it wasn't a difficult issue to consider anymore.

Alka propped his head on his hand, looking at the 'Lava Tolerant' requirement. This is even more difficult to achieve than Three Spirals. I don't believe that a physique at the Three Spirals level could resist lava burns. That would be overestimating myself quite a bit. If I went in, I'd immediately be cooked well-done. We can't even withstand ordinary high-temperature flames, let alone something as absurd as lava. I must think of a way, something that will at least allow us to resist the high temperature of the lava for a short period. Otherwise, this Treasure will have nothing to do with us, unless someday we can actually swim in magma. But by the time we reach that stage, I'll probably be somewhere completely different in the Endless Sea. This means if we can't get this Treasure this time, we'll likely never be able to get it.

Could Frost Nova possibly help us enter the magma? Alka couldn't help but think of the Treasure they had just acquired. Although this Treasure was a quest item to be handed over to the Church, it didn't prevent them from using it in the meantime. Using it a bit won't damage it. After all, it's an Ice Attribute Treasure; it's hard not to wonder if its abilities can be used to resist lava. I just don't know what kind of effect it will achieve. We'll only know once we get there and see.

...

Their ship, after a week of sailing, finally passed through the Extreme Cold Triangle Zone. During this week, they witnessed the temperature of the Extreme Cold Triangle Zone rising rapidly. When they passed Icecap Island, it had also revealed its original appearance.

The thick ice layer that had once covered the Island had completely melted, forming rivers on the Island. However, the Island was still not beautiful, as it was currently barren. I believe that in a year or two, this place will be renewed and regain its vitality.
