Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 165 Obtaining Treasure_3

This was a real change, not something that good weather could explain. He couldn't help but lean on his cane and scramble towards the small hill nearby. Seeing the Shaman like this, the young men and nearby residents hurriedly followed to support him, afraid he might fall. They followed him up the hill.

The Shaman looked at the Mountain Peak where Alka and the others were. At this moment, the snow on the mountain was melting at a rate visible to the naked eye, revealing the glacier wedged between the two peaks. Even that glacier seemed to be melting. The feeling became more evident here, especially with the changes in the distance. The temperature was rising to a perceptible level, even though the sun was obscured by clouds.

This place was the area most affected by the Energy radiating from the Ice Treasure. Now that the Treasure's activated state had subsided, it had hidden itself once more. Consequently, there was no new Energy release to continue affecting the surrounding environment. The surrounding environment was inherently incompatible with such conditions, having been altered solely by the Treasure's Energy. Now, without the Treasure's Energy, the cold would not last long. And they were in the place where this change was most keenly felt.

The true revival would begin on this Island and spread outward. The Ice Element that permeated the entire Extreme Cold Triangle Zone would also begin to slowly dissipate, having lost its source. This process would not take more than a month.

All the tribespeople sensed this change. It was different from before, especially when they saw the melting snow on the mountain peaks. Almost involuntarily, they turned their heads towards the Shaman, whom they had surrounded. At this moment, tears streamed down the Shaman's face. He leaned on his Scepter, his expression one of pure excitement.

"HAHAHA, the ice is melting! The ice is melting! Do you see it? We're about to return to the environment of our ancestors! We won't have to go hungry anymore, nor endure the cold..."

The Shaman's joyous outburst startled the surrounding tribespeople, making them truly believe the conjectures they had previously been too afraid to accept.

"The snow is melting! We can plant our own food now!"

"HAHAHA, this is wonderful!"

"No more going hungry?"

The tribespeople embraced each other, their faces lit up with smiles they had never shown before.

「Meanwhile, in the ice tunnel.」

With the cold receding, Alka and the others were frantically digging at the ice beneath their feet. Without the continuous support of the pervasive Ice Element, the hardness of these ice blocks was plummeting. It did not take them much effort to dig through, and soon everyone had fallen into the pit below.

However, Alka was not among them; he remained standing above the pit, showing no intention of coming down.

He was afraid that if he came down, he might inadvertently activate the machine again, even though it had been turned off. But who knew? Better to avoid unnecessary complications. He just needed to wait up there.

Once in the pit, Chadite and the others quickly retrieved the doll frozen within an ice block. Lucilia also emerged from the Magic Mirror. Looking at the doll in Chadite's hand, she said regretfully, "This doll is broken. Such a shame."

Hearing this, Chadite smiled. "Don't worry, Alka can make you another one in a bit."

With that said, the group made their way to the place where the blue glow had previously emanated. A fist-sized, round, blue Gemstone lay on the shattered ice below. The white light from their lanterns caught it, making it reflect a brilliant radiance.

This Magical Treasure was a spherical Gemstone, crafted from pure blue crystal. The entire Crystal Ball emitted a dazzling blue luminescence, like a star. The previous blue glow had likely emanated from the center of this Gemstone; however, as it was no longer in an activated state, the Treasure now concealed its radiance. The surface of the blue spherical Gemstone featured intricate patterns resembling snowflakes and ice crystals, perfectly matching the characteristics it displayed. These patterns were so minute that they required close observation to be seen.

The entire Treasure was not just a sphere. At its base was an exquisite pedestal made of an unknown silver metal, its surface carved with complex patterns also resembling ice and snowflake designs. It was composed of dozens of intertwined metal lines, resembling an incredibly lavish artifact. Even if it could conceal its aura, its appearance alone was enough to reveal its precious nature.

Except for that one flag, the group had never seen an ordinary-looking Treasure; each one they encountered seemed more precious than the last.

Chadite bent down and picked up the entire Treasure. It felt unremarkable and showed no peculiar properties. It seemed like an ordinary, albeit opulent, decorative piece.

"Let's go check out that machine," Chadite suggested. "Alka said it should also be quite valuable."

The group approached the machine. If they hadn't seen the pulsations it emitted earlier, they would have mistaken it for a pile of scrap metal in the ruins. With its two broken mechanical legs and shattered, exposed internal structures, who would have guessed it could still operate, let alone launch an attack?

Jason touched the machine, tapped it, and asked, "Should we try to move this thing up?"

Chadite said, "Who knows if it's completely shut down? What if we bring it up and it suddenly attacks Alka?"

Hearing Chadite's words, Jason shrugged helplessly.

"See that Energy source?" Lucilia pointed to the exposed internal structure and the diamond-shaped, dull crystal in the middle. "Just remove it. That should be the core of this mechanical device."

Hearing Lucilia, Jason reached out and forcefully pulled out the dim Gemstone. It came out very easily, as if the Gemstone had merely been placed inside without any securing mechanism.
