Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 135: Determining the Treasure's Whereabouts (Extra Chapter for Alliance Leader Tianjianxing YQ, 10,000-Word Chapter)_6

The rod that was already in his hand struck harshly at the floating orb. The orb grazed past Chadite's body as it shot past her, Holy Fire igniting on its surface as it flew. In an instant, it destroyed the Evil Spirit's shoulder. However, because the chain had been dodged, the Evil Spirit's body was not bound, allowing it to make some evasive maneuvers despite being partially restrained. The entire left shoulder disintegrated immediately under the orb's impact, disappearing along with the chain.

Chadite had already reached the enemy. Her fist, wrapped in sacred bandages, slammed heavily onto its hideous, mummified skull, completely shattering the jaw and nose area and releasing a crimson aura. Suddenly, another arm shot out from the enemy's chest, quickly extending towards Chadite's own. Fortunately, silvery ripples blocked this attack, allowing Chadite to dodge away. This sudden arm attack was unexpected by the others.

Alka immediately warned Pororo and the others, "Be careful, these Evil Spirits can grow extra limbs!"

Dodging the attack, Chadite remained enveloped in a fluorescent glow. Her whipping leg struck the mummy-like Evil Spirit's waist. The Holy Fire flared, and the silver light surrounding her leg directly kicked the Evil Spirit in two. At that moment, the orb flew back from behind the Evil Spirit, once again piercing through the back of its head. The entire Evil Spirit instantly turned into a crimson mist and dissipated into the air.

"Are you okay, Chadite?" Alka asked, throwing out another Blue Card. He had indeed seen Chadite get hit by the claw attack, and these Evil Spirits' attacks all harmed the soul.

"I'm fine," Chadite replied. "The silver wave blocked the attack."

The Blue Card Alka had thrown released its Water Chain, which wrapped around Pororo's enemy. Before Pororo could seize the opportunity to launch a fatal attack, a bandage composed of fluid shot out, directly penetrating the Evil Spirit. The bandage spiraled, twisting the Evil Spirit's entire Spiritual Body into dissipating smoke, causing it to vanish on the spot. Pororo, his fingers formed into a claw and ready to strike, stood stunned as he watched his enemy disappear before his eyes.

It was Julia who had destroyed that Evil Spirit. After dispatching the one in front of her, she had incidentally taken down Pororo's enemy as well.

"Don't just stand there; there are more ahead," Alka called out.

Hearing Alka's words, Pororo stopped hesitating and immediately ran forward. Four more Evil Spirits were waiting for them there.

Meanwhile, the three unidentified members of the Treasure Hunting Team, who had been immobilized, had already lost their lives. Each of the three corpses had a massive, bloody hole in its chest. Blood flowed from the wounds, floating in the air and coiling around the invisible Evil Spirits.

A Red Card arced into the air above the area. Instantly, four immense pillars of fire erupted. Fueled by the Red Card's spin, the erupted pillars of fire also rotated, sweeping across the surroundings. The flames immediately ignited all four Evil Spirits, forcing them to reveal themselves.

Their attempts to hide were futile, as Alka and his team could now see them clearly. These Evil Spirits were entwined with blood absorbed from the three corpses, and perhaps even more. Although this blood neutralized some of the flame damage, its effect was limited, and parts of them still ignited. Moreover, these Evil Spirits clearly had less fire resistance than the green phantoms encountered earlier and were easier to set ablaze.

Seizing the opportunity, Pororo charged forward, flinging jets of water from both hands. Ten blue, intersecting Water Blades instantly sliced one Evil Spirit into pieces. With Julia, who could unleash the power of Three Spirals, joining in, the remaining Evil Spirits were almost defenseless and were quickly dispatched by the team's combined efforts.

Alka watched the crimson aura floating in the air gradually dissipate, then approached the three fallen individuals. They were already dead, yet very little blood flowed from the massive wounds in their chests.

"It seems no one from this Treasure Hunting Team survived," Alka said, shaking his head with some regret. Then, without hesitation, he squatted down and began to search the bodies. Judging by their attire, two of the three corpses must have been the group's only two Touchers. Apart from some coins, he found a Sailor's Long Saber with an Enchantment. Otherwise, the money these people carried was limited.

"We'll take your money. We'll come back to collect your bodies after we're done with our business," Alka muttered as he moved the corpses to the edge of the road.

Chadite watched from the side, frowning. "These Evil Spirits are clearly different from the ones we encountered before," she said. "And they aren't constrained by the area where their bones are located. Regardless of where their bones were, these Evil Spirits shouldn't have been able to chase them this far. Judging by the trail of blood, they pursued them over a great distance."

She continued, "Based on our previous experience, an Evil Spirit's range of movement is determined by the location of its bones at the time of death. The stronger the Toucher, the wider the range of their soul's movement after death when it becomes an Evil Spirit. But these Evil Spirits were only at the two-Spiral level of strength; they shouldn't be able to cover such a vast distance."

"I don't know," Alka replied, clapping his hands. "We don't have any source of information right now. Guessing won't get us anywhere. Let's keep moving." He then led the group, following the map toward the location of the Golden Light.

They continued along the wide main road. Blood and severed limbs littered the path. There were also corpses with large holes in their chests lying by the roadside; these bodies had completely turned into mummies, their blood entirely absorbed by the Evil Spirits.

The trail of blood on the ground continued ahead, but Alka led Chadite and the others onto a small path to the left. Looking at the Golden Light on the map, Alka felt a bit strange. He initially thought the Golden Light marked the Island's core area. Although the buildings ahead hadn't completely collapsed, it was clear this wasn't the core area—likely just an ordinary residential district. The Island's core area was still further ahead. Was this Treasure deliberately hidden here, or was it not even a Treasure from the Meiniche Alliance at all?
