Chapter 134 The Source of the Dark Outburst_2
The book was obtained from the treasure Sad hid during his youth.
"Land of Dreams"
"The world depicted in this book truly exists, doesn't it? You've said yourself there's a similar tradition in your homeland."
"Once we head here, we'll be able to find out how to reach your homeland."
Listening to Alka and looking at the book in his hand, Lucilia's once chaotic mind began to clear. The sorrow and confusion on her face gradually faded, replaced by joy.
She reached out and tightly grasped Alka's hands.
Her weak, chilly palm pressed against the back of Alka's hand.
"True, there's this method. How could I not have thought of it?" Lucilia spoke, her eyes fixed on Alka, her pupils filled with hope.
Seeing Lucilia's expression, Alka smiled.
"I'll go, and I'll take you with me."
"Thank you."
...
After conversing with Lucilia in her dreams, her condition visibly improved.
Chadite watched the goth doll-like figure hopping around the ship.
Unable to help himself, he turned to glance at Alka.
"So, what exactly did you talk about with her? Why is she even happier and more excited than before?"
Alka reached out, plucked Lucilia from the ship's edge where she was swaying with its movements and about to fall into the water, and placed her on his shoulder.
Only then did he respond, "It's about some things she cares about. It's hard to explain right now. I'll share more with you after this whole thing is over."
Chadite listened to Alka's response and nodded.
It's truly not the time to be distracted. Rescuing his father and leaving the Realm of Pitch Darkness to reunite with the Church are the top priorities. These are the issues that should be addressed first.
The ship fell silent once more, blending into the surrounding darkness.
The Swallow traversed the pitch-black sea at great speed, leaving a trail of white spray. The sound of the splashing water was the only bright spot in this darkness.
...
After several days of sailing, they finally reached the source of the dark outbreak. The journey had been surprisingly smooth, without any odd occurrences.
Ahead lay the core of the entire Realm of Pitch Darkness, the origin of the dark outbreak.
Alka leaned against the mast, observing the surroundings. Pure black is the only way to describe this place. He had temporarily turned off his Dark Vision.
It was nearly pitch-black around them; only the sound of the ship navigating the sea was audible. Without Dark Vision, Lighting Stones alone probably wouldn't even allow for normal navigation. You wouldn't be able to see a thing.
Alka attempted to condense Lighting Stones into a spotlight and project it into the distance.
However, the beam extended barely five meters before being completely devoured by the darkness.
He had, after all, used several Lighting Stones to create this spotlight, employing a mirror with numerous reflective surfaces.
The condensed beam was blindingly bright, yet it could still only illuminate a limited area.
Furthermore, the Dark Elements surrounding them were so pronounced. Particularly since they had grown accustomed to the dark environment, they could perceive these elements with relative ease.
Alka even felt as if he were wearing a suit of black compression clothing.
This was because his Soul Attraction, exceptionally strong compared to others, was overwhelmingly potent here.
In such an environment, Spiritual Protection and Dark Vision had to be kept active almost constantly; they could hardly be switched off.
Magic Power was continuously consumed, though its depletion was matched by its recovery rate.
The Spiritual Protection was working ceaselessly to defend them.
"We're almost there. It's that island ahead," Chadite announced.
Upon hearing his words, everyone on the ship turned their gaze forward.
Using Dark Vision, they could see the silhouette of a small island emerging nearby, growing larger as they sailed closer.
The details on the island gradually came into focus.
"A Sea Monster is approaching! Prepare for an attack!" Julia, positioned at the bow, suddenly alerted everyone.
At her words, they all instantly became vigilant.
The reason Julia could now communicate with them normally was that she had learned their language from Lucilia over the past few days.
For an expert who had once reached the Six Spirals—also known as the Second Stage—learning a language posed no difficulty.
As her words fell, the sea surface exploded with splashes, and three enormous, pitch-black tentacles erupted from the water.
Each tentacle was larger than their ship, and they converged, smashing down towards them.
"A Sea Beast completely infested by darkness. Let me relieve you of your pain," Julia said as she stood up, raising her jade-like left hand in a gentle wave.
Magic Power surged palpably around her.
A faint brilliance appeared behind her, and a hazy, ring-like halo materialized.
From within the halo, enormous bandages shot forth, one after another, accompanied by the sharp sound of them tearing through the air.
Though called bandages, they were more like strips of white cloth, seemingly condensed from some kind of fluid.
The substance within them flowed slowly, making them strikingly visible.
The cloth strips shot out, instantly entwining the three tentacles in mid-air and tightening around them.
A creaking, twisting sound echoed from overhead.
In merely one or two seconds, the sections of the tentacles bound by the cloth strips were severed, and the massive, severed parts plummeted into the sea.
