Chapter 127 Half Year_2
These two cards were a pair, and this Number 2 card was one of the two Alka had just thrown. The other was the Water Chain currently holding the Evil Spirit captive. This type of numbered 'eye card' was used for short-distance, real-time image transmission. It was made by combining the [Reproduction] Spell with a [Mirror]. The original function of the [Reproduction] Spell was to instantly replicate numbers, text, or simple line drawings onto another piece of paper. It was generally used for quickly copying books, but its fusion with the [Mirror] resulted in completely baffling effects. Regardless, it was indeed very useful.
Alka watched as the lingering flames gradually extinguished. He couldn't help but sigh. "Wasted a Red Card. What a loss."
"Alka, your resistance to the darkness has weakened significantly. It's been less than a week since your last Spiritual Invasion." A soft and melodious voice reached Alka's ears. It was Lucilia from the Magic Mirror. As the battle ended, she emerged from Alka's Soul Space.
Alka produced a Potion. He glanced at it, shook his head with a sigh, and then downed it. As he felt the darkness within his spirit being cleansed, Alka finally said, "It's alright. I'm about to advance to Two Spirals."
「At this moment, it had been nearly half a year since Alka and his companions entered the Central Sea Region.」
For the past six months, they had been active in this area. Their food came from Pororo diving for fish resistant to the Dark Element, supplemented by supplies acquired from the ships of pursuers they occasionally defeated. As for a water source, they naturally relied on spells like Spring Water. For a Toucher, securing water was never a concern. During these six months, Alka had cleared many of the blue dots on the less dangerous islands. This had brought them countless gains, significantly enhancing their strength. Consequently, having stayed in such an area for so long, the invasion of darkness had inevitably deepened. This was completely unavoidable, even though Alka possessed some resistance due to various factors.
Fortunately, Alka's previous calculations had been correct. He was on the verge of advancing to Two Spirals, having just consumed the final Potion for spiritual cleansing. It was a Potion Chadite had given him, one she hadn't used herself.
With this in mind, Alka arrived at the spot where the Evil Spirit's bones had lain. From beneath them, he retrieved an object with a blue outline. He examined it in his hand and then wiped away the stains. "Not bad at all. At least it's not a total loss." He was referring to the Magic Cards he had expended to defeat the Evil Spirit.
The object in his hand was a natural Magic Core, similar to the stone fragments Alka had used to activate his first Magic Card long ago. This one was intact and was generally used as a material or an energy source for certain objects. It was quite valuable.
The Magic Crystal Stone vanished from Alka's hand. He then made his way out of the city ruins, soon arriving at the port.
Inside a relatively well-preserved port building, light flickered, and a lantern hovered above Alka's head, illuminating his surroundings. Just then, a figure emerged from the sea. It was Pororo, carrying two huge fish as he walked towards the building, meeting Alka who had just arrived.
"You're back! All settled?" Pororo asked.
Seeing Pororo, Alka nodded. "Rest assured, it's all taken care of."
He then walked into the building with Pororo.
It was a small warehouse. Otherwise, it couldn't have accommodated Pororo's large, burly frame. The source of light came from a small stove made of an unknown metal in the room, where Chadite was meticulously drawing something. It was an unfinished map. Hearing the sound from behind, she set down her tools and turned around. Meanwhile, the map-drawing pen continued to float, sketching automatically.
"Did you finish gathering everything on the island?" Chadite asked with a smile as Alka approached.
Alka nodded and shrugged. "Just some useless stuff. How's the map coming along?"
Hearing this, Chadite turned her head and, with a touch on the floating pen, said, "Almost done. Just wrapping up the final touches."
This automatic drawing pen was a Magic Tool they had found, capable of helping Chadite draw maps automatically when infused with Magic Power. Of course, the prerequisite was that the user actually knew how to draw maps and had their own mental blueprint. They had collected countless such items over the past six months. Most of the blue dots they found corresponded to these things—somewhat useful, but not exceptionally so. Nevertheless, these items facilitated their activities. The small metal stove before them was one such example.
The cooking knives Pororo was currently using to cut the fish were two magical kitchen knives. Alka wasn't sure of their specific function, but according to Pororo, they were excellent for handling fish. Holding a long and a short cooking knife, Pororo wielded them as if they were small dining knives, swiftly slicing and sorting the two fish he had caught. On a nearby rickety wooden table sat a silver platter with extravagant patterns. Once the fish was sliced and placed on it, the platter floated on its own, moving to hover beside Alka and Chadite.
The two chatted as they placed pieces of fish near the stove, which had a special spot for grilling and heating various foods. Such convenient Magic Tools often proved their usefulness in the most unexpected ways. As for Pororo, he preferred his fish raw.
Alka and Chadite sat by the stove, grilling fish and chatting idly. Pororo kept some distance from the stove, eating sashimi there. Being a merman, he didn't like overly hot flames.
Throwing a big chunk of raw fish into his mouth, Pororo said, "Just now, on the sea surface, I noticed pirate patrol boats."
Hearing this, neither Alka nor Chadite panicked.
"Have they found us already? No rush. I'm about to advance to Two Spirals. Let's stay here for a few more days," Alka said.
Upon hearing Alka's words, Chadite suddenly felt relieved. "That's good. Finally, we won't be invaded by the darkness anymore."
This was because Chadite had even given Alka the Spiritual Invasion Potion she would have used herself. If Alka hadn't advanced to Two Spirals, they might have had to leave the Central Sea Region.
