Chapter 4: Chapter 4: A world to settle in.

Date: Mörsugur 1st, 999. (Alt: 14th Dec, 999.) Location: Götaland (Ancient Sweden.)

After about 5.7078e-9 Yottaseconds (A few minutes for them.) They reached their destination in the other portion of Reality, on a planet not too dissimilar to our own, except. . .

"You're telling me that real mythological gods exist in this world, and we're close to the Norse?" Heath asks. "Yeah, I know. And they're quite strong compared to you now, but you'll grow at a rate incomparable to them. They're quite hubristic." Brijga said to console him.

"Any other things I have to know? I know my mythology from my history classes and from God of War, so I believe I know what they would be like. But how close are they to their myths from my home world?" Heath asks, now more certain. "Very close, there are visual and minor personality changes compared to other renditions such as more musculature and more 'angst,' but it's pretty spot on." Brijga says with full comprehension on how this reality would be like, hoping that this choice for him would provide some basis.

"Any new characters I've got to know that play with Fate that are not in their original mythologies?" Heath asks, hoping for a full answer. "There are, but I cannot tell you, that'll be part of your test. I'm surprised you acclimated so quickly though." Brijga wonders.

"I've played many sandbox and god games, you just will it to happen with but a click of a finger, I just imagine my body as the keyboard that inputs commands and I can will stuff as needed. It requires more. . . Fenagling though." Heath reasons, questioning himself.

That doubt was personified by a slight flickering upon his structure. However, that was stopped by Brijga. "Don't overthink it, that is how your powers can be worked against you. Off-topic, I hope you enjoy the knowledge of 'magic' I gave you too. " Heath stabilises again.

"I started my first 3 centuries not understanding my power, maybe you'll have a comparably meteoric rise too! I learned to be 'efficient' by your standards and never understood proper systemising until about 13.293 BYA, and I'm 13.315 BYO (Billion Years Old.) You will more than likely collect many worlds much faster than I back then. Currently, your power could be gained through energy sources or through direct influence in your respective omniversal section and greater. Go get them!" Brijga gives a happy smile before fading slowly.

"I have to send this portion of myself to collect more people, a few nonillion splits of myself and I already feel drained of energy after all. Sad I couldn't have shared more power with you, but it's a greater chance with more people, ta-ta!" Brijga nearly fizzles out of existence.

"Bye, hope you do not get too stressed. And do I have to worry about any gods like Óðinn or Þórr spying on me through their crows or the weather?" Heath asks before he fully disappears. "Don't worry, you have a protection period by me for a few months at first. Unless you make yourself spotted by them, it'd be like grabbing a snowflake with chopsticks in the air while in a blizzard." Brijga's voice faded until the last word. Then it goes silent. "I hope you do your best for reality, Brijga. I'll do my best too." Heath murmurs to himself.

'I am not Æsir, Vanir, nor Jötunn, I have no signature that ties myself to them. Maybe I should make a new label for myself if I ever meet other people?' Heath internally questions himself, soon coming to a choice. He had a hard time coming up with a name, so he came up with:

'The Þjóðútan (People from Beyond.) Or Mennskrðrútan (Human from Beyond.) It's simple, works as referenced and doesn't involve me with any of the factions. Good.' Heath finalizes his train of thought and begins digging underground. 'Let's hope Jǫrð, God of the Earth does not find me with Brijga's helping hand. The Earth is their domain after all.' Heath steadily, yet continuously absorbed a 50 x 100 x 50-m portion of material until a 20,000 x 200 x 20,000-m (65,616.8000 x 656.1680 x 65,616.8000-feet) cavern was made as a footing.

The first two digs were the hardest, but after the absorption, it became much easier. Heath suddenly stopped as he felt a presence nearby. . . An eye, one that looks to be made of stone types appears from a wall. It has no appearance for emotion but it looks confused.

Heath prays Jörð does not find him, as It scans inside the dug area, and finds nothing of interest. It looks incredibly annoyed but bored, then it goes away. . . The presence travels, then disappears at this point. 'Phew, that was close.' Now that the space was big enough, that was when he chose to invoke some 'magic' he imagined from his old world and materialise it. He combined the ᛉ (Protection / Shield / Elk Rune,) ᛟ (Heritage / Estate Rune) and ᚷ (Generosity / Gift / Spear Rune) and placed it evenly at a 20-m interval (65.6168 feet.)

By imbuing energy into it, his intent made it willing to expand the space. All the runes glowed brightly, accepting the command, the room suddenly gained in size by 10x, then 20x, then 30x, then 40x, then got close to 50x before stopping at about 48x.

He felt the stability of the magic, seeing it can hold further easily, Heath has a plan to fill it later. He's run dry at this point, so he will conserve his strength for now. Thus, a 960,000 x 9,600 x 960,000-m (3,149,568.0000 x 31,495.6800 x 3,149,568.0000-feet) cavern is made. For reference, Nigeria is about 923,768-km^(2) (356,668.68-mi^(2)), this cavern is exactly at 921,600-km^(2) (355,831.61-mi^(2.)) So you can say it would be the 33rd largest country in the world by today's standards. Heath was quite proud of himself for that.

However, he could only dig about 87% in total. Some areas would've intersected with caves that Heath didn't want to dig out of his space yet. He feels the presence of creatures that live within them. Such as some minor Álfar (Elf), Jötunn (Giant), Vittra and Vätte (Spirits).

There were more inconclusive, non-magical entities that he could tell were also there, like insects, worms and other small creatures you'd expect. Even a small deep current that ran through it allowed for small underground fish, running to the nearby river.

Heath thinks of spectator mode in Minecraft, he begins to slowly shift to a non-corporeal form that requires little to no energy to change to, weirdly. He ignores that train of thought.

'As long as I will it, it will happen.' Became a phrase checked into Heath's very soul.

He doesn't doubt that he will phase through the earth above him. Thus, he moves quickly. Dashing through the soil at a faster speed, he checks whether staying in a position the same as another object consumes his 'magic.' '*PHEW* It does not, that is good.' Heath is relieved.

He moves outside of the area, it warps to its original form from his perspective. Soon, he moves towards the underground stream. He begins redirecting it by digging out over 2.0000-km (1.2428-mi) of earth and a little under 300-m (984.24-feet) of rock. He gained some energy through this absorption, but not enough. He fills where the dug intersection and the river meet, causing the water to follow the new path. The old path's current drains itself to the river in about 3 hours. During that time, Heath stays busy.

'I need to absorb more power, but how? Killing those creatures in their caves is out of the question. . . Absorbing from the sun would be risky from my previously unsaid thought, as Sol, the Jötnar that is keeping the sun stable would feel it.' Heath internally mused.

'Could absorbing a few trees near an encampment's logging area hide my meddling? It would reduce the risk of Víðarr, God of the Forest finding me.' He sets himself up to do it. Thus, travelling below the earth to reduce detection. He finds a nearby logging camp of a clan. Heath hears them speak Old Norse, and with omni-translation magic in the works. He hears their conversation and understands it in his modern phrasing from a safe distance.

"Have you heard that our Clan Leader Gorm soon may let Leif inherit the Völsung clan?"

One of the more stout people says nearby. "Yes, it will be a real knocker, even more than when Leif single-handedly dealt with a group of boars!" The taller man cheered.

They applaud and laugh at the situation, clinking their Wooden Stein-like mugs together. Though, with an undercurrent of sadness. "Sad the Clan Leader got old and weary, staying in his bed for longer periods. He's been legendary in keeping our clan stable. I hope he'll enjoy his time in Valhalla." The stout one says solemnly, both nod at the words. "The Völsung will always enjoy seeking challenges to themselves. It's just a matter of where to find them." The taller man states confidently. Knowing how it has been since their founding.

'There is no Gorm or Leif Völsung in historical texts. . . OH, I remember. Zack Snyder's new work! I'm surprised I am in a world like it. Isn't that meant to be a near infinitely low chance in finding a human-made work that I know of? Damn goodness.' Heath internally remarks.

'If what I remember next is correct, Leif is meant to marry the main heroine, Sigrid. Though it hasn't been yet. . . Must be in a few years at this point. Because no mention of Gorm was provided then, it must mean after his death. I can't see a man in distress like that, so I'll come back as a figure to heal Gorm.' Heath promises to himself he will come to help them. He moves out of the way again and then begins absorbing some of the more hidden away trees from the Clan's view. 38 non-homed, large arboreal trees were absorbed inconspicuously.

His energy has been refilled by 12 / 10ths of the way. Heath flies back to his location, absorbing random boulders, logs, rocks, shrubs and portions of grass around dirt patches to appear invisible in view. Now he is about 13 / 10ths of the way. He arrives back at his base.

Heath starts providing the energy to the runes. It's finally reached 50x the size, now 60x, then 70x, 75x is a good comfortable number to sit on. Luckily it didn't interfere with any of his outside work. He's left with a little more than 1 / 2 of the way; Heath's become more efficient at spatial rune work and geokinesis during this process. 'Good, very good.' Heath internally muses positively. He wills himself back into a solid form through. Then sat comfortably on the barren soil in the space he was in, he was emotional seeing his project.

A 1,500,000 x 15,000 x 1,500,000-m (4,921,000.0000 x 49,212.0000 x 4,921,000.0000-feet) cavern was born. With an area of 2,250,000.00 kilometers^(2) (868,729.50-mi^(2.)) For comparison, the DR Congo is 2,344,858 km^(2) (905,354.37-mi^(2.))

This places the Cavern in a comfortable place as the 12th largest (modern) country in the world in terms of surface area. Now, all we need is to remove those leftover inhabited caves and we have a pure area to work with. He goes back to the Völsung Territory, while also absorbing objects as beforehand. He began postulating what living creatures or objects could give him more energy much more efficiently. 'More than likely their larger 'soul' I'm consuming.' Heath looks at it analytically, yet with dejection towards himself.

'I have no choice, do I?' Heath internally wonders. He begins absorbing smaller life forms, like the insects and worms on and in the soil trees (except for the crickets, so there's still some noise left.) This gives him about 5 / 6ths of the way.

He absorbs a few trees here and there, making sure to not leave any traces like before, they are randomly dispersed and once or twice, when an animal is being chased by a predator, he first scans the predator's memories to see if they have children to feed. Then he absorbs them if they don't. Leaving a few confused herbivores to wander. He does it enough that it provides him with good energy without disrupting the local ecosystem. Now, he's at 11 / 10ths of the way. 'This should be enough for the planning. . .' Heath internally mumbles.

'They respect a strong warrior, one who appears experienced and capable. In my games, I like to go 'overkill' with the looks, so I'll do just that!' Heath hypes himself up. He begins by sculpting his neck to have a thicker base and a larger Adam's apple.

"Hello, Hello? Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do." Heath's voice became deeper and richer, similar to a Bass-Baritone. 'I believe it should be more commanding of respect, right?' Now thinking to himself a positive, he continues. He creates and increases his body height, also increasing his head size slightly to match. Heath's height is now at 2.4511-m tall (8 foot 0.5,) Þórr's height is about 2.2352-m tall (7 foot 4) and Óðinn's height is about 2.0574-m tall (6 foot 9.) Putting him at the higher end of the chart. All are giants compared to Mennskr (Humans.)

Þórr's Proportions make his shoulders from his neck about the height of his collarbone to his head with an additional 1.25x. Heath makes the proportions slightly wider, to about 1.30x, The head is about 1 / 8 in proportion to the body. So factoring that in. . .

His head to his neck is 0.2794-meters tall (0.9167-feet.) This means each shoulder would be 0.3633-m (1.1920 feet) from his neck. His total shoulder width is 0.7266-m (2.3839-feet.) HE IS A MASSIVE DUDE, his proportions would look like the failed boxer Sajad Gharibi's photoshopped photos but much taller. "Now, for the clothing." Heath comments with his new voice, making himself shiver. He begins to fly and travels back to his base. He scans its surroundings and finds a cave. He flies into the cave, searching for any iron deposits.

Heath scans for any reddish to brown hues that are expected from hematite, pyrite or goethite ore. 'Not in this cave.' Heath internally murmurs, he flies to the next cave, deeper than the last one. Then, he finally spots it. 'Found it.' Heath congratulates himself.

It's a small portion, enough to only cover his arms in about a quarter-inch of steel plate. He transports it back to his base. He goes to the next cave, then the next one, and the final one before finally getting all of the ore needed. He also collected metallurgical coal, iridium, anatase, brookite and ilmenite ore. He uses his enhanced geokinesis to forge his Earth's old 4130 Steel with these iron ores and coal. He follows the procedure to make a nicely latticed structure with proper proportions to make his first layer of the armour without a helmet.

He forges the titanium ores to make about an eighth-inch of titanium plate, which is then overlayed with the iridium as an anti-corrosive measure. The armour is near completion, now for the finishing touches (after a small consumption break by flying to the forest again.)

He flies back out, faster than before, anticipating his newest creation's success. He begins to absorb some insects, randomly located trees and materials as before. To then come back and prepare a future where he may need to 'copy' or repair the armour. The starting plan for the runes is in fruition. And with the knowledge he already has, he tests it upon random objects first around him. He got to about 412 runic combinations before he felt he was ready. And all of the 'failures' or unnecessary combinations were shelved or destroyed altogether.

Some of the combinations may be useful for material sciences, storage development, piping / electricity networks, recreation and 'mending' of amputations, scars and injuries or external factors like old age. He can do all of this with his magic however, but it's good to plan.

He can now use his knowledge as a potential bargaining chip to gain new friends, and he hopes that the people of this world aren't that wary of outsiders like him.
