Traveler of the River of Time and Space

Chapter 15: Bordeaux of Cold Valley

The ground was covered in a layer of disgusting dark green viscous liquid.

Su Ziyu could see some tattered flesh shells from the cursed tree's abdomen area. Inside the belly of this enemy, there was another monster. However, it had yet to hatch out, and only a single arm barely extended out. Strictly speaking, the entity within the cursed tree was the true incarnation of the Undying Curse. But for some reason, it hasn't been able to emerge, possibly related to the Lothric royal family, because this tree appears to have been imprisoned here.

——"Twisted soul of the Cursed Tree (refinable): Having borne too much of the Undying Curse, it became a living entity. The soul of this tree contains many twisted undead souls; refining it grants 1500 energy value."

Acquiring this energy value is truly delightful!

Su Ziyu directly picked up the soul of the cursed tree. The first batch of jade dew within the Demon Gourd was almost refined and could likely be consumed tonight. Every world has its unique plane law, and the plane law of this world is that soul power is very easy to acquire. If Su Ziyu doesn't seize this opportunity to store some energy value, who knows how long it will be until the next similar plane is encountered.

"Let's go." The black flame on Sister Fried's body gradually vanished. She put away the two scythes and walked over, whispering, "There's nothing left here."

After entering the residual flame form, some spark-like marks would appear on Sister Fried's skin, as if weak sparks had burned across a sheet of paper, looking very peculiar.

She has become much stronger!

If Su Ziyu were to face Sister Fried now, the likelihood of victory would not be very high.

"Okay." Su Ziyu nodded slightly.

The two immediately retraced their steps. The pollution source in the Undead Settlement had been cleared; there might still be some small monsters capable of yielding Source Power Value, but Su Ziyu did not intend to waste too much time here.

They directly headed back to the tower.

Just as they approached the vicinity of the tower, suddenly there was a loud commotion from the direction of Lothric Royal City, as if something had collapsed.

"What's going on?"

Su Ziyu glanced at Sister Fried beside him. She slightly shook her head to indicate she didn't know.

"Let's go."

"Let's go and have a look." Su Ziyu suggested.

The Onion Knight was still sleeping under the tower; even such a loud noise didn't wake him. This guy is truly a heavy sleeper.

Rumble!

A faint thunderous sound rang out.

A few steps behind Su Ziyu, Sister Fried's expression changed slightly, then she said in a solemn voice, "Thunderbolt Power!..."

"Is it a Divine Race warrior?!..."

Divine Race?

Upon hearing this, Su Ziyu felt a surge of spirit, and he directly reached out in a motion to lift her waist, saying to Sister Fried beside him, "Running there is too slow. The bridge over there has collapsed."

"I'll take you flying directly."

Sister Fried did not hesitate; she naturally approached, allowing Su Ziyu to hold her waist. Then the two ascended into the air.

This nun's body is quite peculiar.

With direct contact, there is a sensation akin to touching both ice and fire simultaneously. Su Ziyu felt a bit uncomfortable, yet Sister Fried's body felt like flesh, and though she turned to ash upon death, she could still be reborn from the bonfire.

A colossal dragon corpse emerged into view.

The bridge from the Undead Settlement to Lothric Royal City had been smashed down by this dragon corpse. The surface of the dragon's body was covered in numerous wounds, indicating just how fierce the battle that killed it had been.

"What are those creatures?"

High above, Su Ziyu suddenly frowned, looking at the heap of bodies on the bridge below. They wore ragged black robes, with something akin to a tortoise shell strapped to their backs, also bound with chains. These people died on this side of the bridge in a posture resembling worship. There were quite a few, and even more on the other side of the broken bridge, seemingly dead for a long time.

After speaking, Su Ziyu suddenly felt Sister Fried beside him tremble all over. Her expression appeared somewhat bewildered as she murmured, "They are the pilgrims of Londor."

"They came bearing a mission but perished here."

Mission?

Su Ziyu continued flying forward, turning his head to ask, "What mission?"

Sister Fried shook her head without speaking, merely looking slightly downcast as she gazed at the corpses of the pilgrims in a daze.

This world hides many secrets indeed.

Sister Fried had merely mentioned her origins in Londor, a land of wandering souls, but she was reluctant to discuss anything about Londor in detail.

However, this was not the time for further questioning. After flying a certain distance, Su Ziyu gradually landed, directly touching down on the walls of Lorric. In his sight lay bodies everywhere. Lothric Royal City must have been the site of an extremely fierce battle in the past, as the moment Su Ziyu landed, a few undead soldiers lunged at him.

Clang.

A flash of cold light swept by, and Su Ziyu directly ended the frenzied soldiers with a swing of his sword.

Below the walls lay numerous corpses of knights. From a distance, one could see a small plaza surrounded by the headless carcasses of knights. Further afield was the corpse of a slain flying dragon, with some living dead scattered around the area as if in worship.

"Over there." Sister Fried pointed to a nearby location.

Thud.

Another loud boom echoed.

In Su Ziyu's sight emerged a large and hunched figure clad in immense silver-grey armor, wielding an extremely heavy warhammer. Moving on all fours, a ferocious pounce rammed against a wall, instantly collapsing it. The creature seemed vaguely familiar, as Su Ziyu had dealt with a similar enemy while assisting the Onion Knight, although that one was smaller and lacked such terrifying destructiveness.

If this enemy were to rise, it would likely stand ten meters tall, the initial collapse sound was its doing.

"It's Bordeaux from Cold Valley." Sister Fried spoke softly, "I don't know who awakened it."

"Could be other Residual Flames."

Rumble.

Streaks of electricity appeared in Su Ziyu's vision. Amidst the dull thunder, a Thunderbolt Spear flashed through the air; golden electric light converged into a spear and struck the large Beastial Knight's body, leaving a spectacular scar.

"Praise the sun!"

A loud shout echoed from afar, followed by a fully armored figure charging out, grasping a great sword with both hands, slashing at the towering monster.
