Trapped In A Novel As The Breeding Mate For Four Powerful Alphas

Chapter 346: ...against the dissatisfaction of the elite

"One point one billion!" I yelled and all these came up to the booth.

Even Jin-Yeok looked at me in shock, not expecting this from me.

That's right... I plan to engage in this war.

"Jo-Pil," Jin-Yeok called, his stunned face shadowing every other expression he might've had before now.

I glanced at him briefly before looking away.

Whatever his intentions were... Whatever he was trying to prove by bringing me here despite having a clue as to how it would hurt me mentally, if not physically... I would hear them later.

But for now, I didn't want to face him.

"Master," I called and he flinched, a pang of disappointment striking his face.

That's right. If I call him Master, he should understand how mad I am. How disappointed... Sigh.

"Master, you did your own thing," I said. "So let me do my own thing. I... I don't plan on stopping here."

I heard the leather creak from his tightening fists, and I looked at his hand. His fists trembled while his face crinkled with a slit of rage that wouldn't let out, as if the rage he felt in his heart was any greater than mine.

But he probably felt it. He felt my own silent rage so he did not try to make an excuse, he did not try to stop me, and he most definitely didn't try to make me change my mind.

He released his fists as he exhaled, letting go of the anger.

"Do your thing, Jo-Pil. I... I'll take responsibility." He said and I turned my head away.

That's the least he can do in this situation.

"We have one point one billion for this young Omega! Are there others who can top that price?" The host asked, excitement burning in his tone.

I glanced from one end of the hall to another.

They were quiet.

Even if they did have money, they wouldn't dare bid against the booth Jin-Yeok was at.

They didn't want to make him an enemy for fighting for what he wanted.

I could use Jin-Yeok's influence like this.

"Sold!"

Yes, I've gotten the first. Now, let's move on to the next.

For the next few people brought to the stage, Omegas, women, and even Betas... I bid for each and every one of them against the dissatisfaction of the other elites.

"What's going on?" The whispers of satisfaction grew even more.

"I thought he was just here for sightseeing since he rarely buys anything at the auction."

"This doesn't feel right. Why is he buying every since slave?"

"I came here for slaves, tch. Now, I'm going back empty-handed."

"Does he plan to create a farm or something? It's a bit annoying."

Yes, that's right. I want to create a farm, you bunch of hypocrites.

I wish I could give them the middle finger but let's calm down a bit. No need to get too excited.

I sat back on my back, feeling a sense of satisfaction well up in my heart.

"Do you have a plan after this?" Jin-Yeok asked, and I turned my head, lazily looking at him.

I really don't have any energy to answer him right now. Ah, I feel hateful towards him right now but it won't last, I'm sure of it.

Once he explains to me clearly why he brought me here and apologizes like he used to, then I'll forgive him right away.

Ugh, me and my soft heart.

Maybe I made the right choice, maybe I didn't.

Maybe I changed the fate of someone who would find a better life after being bought. I doubt that, though. These snobs of wealthy people held no compassion for anyone who bought with money and anyone who didn't measure up to their standards.

And maybe they were they for their own sins and not another but then... I can't be bothered to look through all their faces for lies and truth since they all seemed too pitiful.

My heart is just that weak.

"No," I answered, turning my head away. "I did this out of nowhere, so of course I don't have a plan, master."

His fingers twitched at the sound of 'master'. He didn't like it. He wanted me to call him affectionately the way I had promised but he couldn't be demanding. Not when he still hadn't stoned for this.

"Now, it's the last slave." The host said, but his excitement had gone down because there were fewer and fewer people partaking in the bid, since they knew I would win it eventually.

It's not like his business went down, but the slaves just sold for less than they anticipated.

"Ahem, this one is a Beta." He said. "Number one slave,"

"Why is he number one?" The elites began to whisper.

"Does he hold any value?"

"It's just a Beta though. Unless it's a woman,"

"Let's see, maybe there's something we didn't catch."

"Now, you all must wonder what's so special about this Beta but have you heard of an Enigma?" He asked and more whispering came about. "An Alpha that can impregnate all genders, right? Now, what if the same was said for a Beta but the other way round?"

I perked my face forward.

What's this about an Enigma? I know a bit about Enigmas but I had no idea there was something about Betas too.

"And he makes a good bed partner as well, so why don't we invite the highlight of the night onto the stage?"

Everywhere went silent and all we heard was the clinking of chains as the Beta walked onto the stage, haggard and with overgrown hair covering his appearance.

"A Beta that can get pregnant whenever you want and you don't even have to worry about him going into heat. A paradox!"

I gripped the arm of my chair, shocked.

My heart was thumping bc my eyes... They trembled.

I was seeing things, right?

That... That...

I turned to Jin-Yeok, who didn't say anything, and then fell back on my chair, my heart racing with uncertainty and my mind swirling uncontrollably.

I closed my eyes.

Ah, I finally solved the puzzle.

I finally know why Jin-Yeok took the risk, why he was hesitant... Why he didn't want me here at the last minute despite wanting to show me this scene so badly.

I turned my head for him once again, my lips tightly pressed together and my gaze softened.

"Hyung," I called and his eyes widened.

He turned to me and found the softened and broken expression on my face.

"You're just too much, do you know that?"

He stared for a while and then he covered his face, ashamed.

"Yeah, I am. I won't deny it if Jo-Pil says it."
