Chapter 21: New Friends

"Hmpf, good riddance," Luffy said, letting out a sigh of relief as his fury slowly subsided. The tension in his muscles eased, but his determination didn't waver.

"Now then, let's go find the others," Usopp urged, his eyes scanning the horizon.

"Let's head to where that giant was," Luffy suggested, his voice steady with resolve. Together, they made their way to the last place Lucas had transformed into Way Big.

"Here you guys are," Lucas greeted them with a look of concern as he found Zoro and Nami. They were not far from where the giants stood, their hands and feet still bound by Mr. Five's wax.

Lucas gently lifted them and carried them to where the giants were first before he could free them. "There," Lucas said softly as he placed them down.

"Where are the others?" Nami asked, her voice tinged with worry.

"They're probably on their way here, so let's free you guys first," Lucas replied confidently as he turned his hand into Heatblast's fiery form.

Nami's eyes widened with apprehension. "Wait, what are you trying to do?"

"Don't worry, it won't hurt," Lucas reassured her with a gentle smile. He placed his Heatblast hand over the wax cuffs and gradually increased the heat, watching as the wax began to melt. "This might take a while, though," he added, his touch gentle and careful.

Luffy and Usopp arrived just as Lucas finished freeing Nami and was now working on Zoro's cuffs. "Hey! We're here!" they called out, rushing over.

Seeing them, the Lucas clone dissipated, turning into a violet-colored light that merged back with the original Lucas.

After a while, Dorry, who had regained some of his strength, managed to sit up straight. "You really saved us there, huh? Gyagyagyagyaa," he said with a grateful chuckle.

"Yes, we both are thankful," Brogy added, his voice full of sincerity.

"Who were those humans, anyway?" he asked, turning to Vivi.

Vivi took a deep breath before explaining, "It's most likely you two still have a bounty, and that's why they attacked you."

Lucas nodded in agreement after Vivi finished. "I see... I had completely forgotten about that. Gyagyagyagyaa," Dorry admitted, shaking his head with a rueful smile.

Vivi's eyes filled with remorse. "But still, it seems this is partly my fault that they came here."

"Don't say that," Nami said gently, reassuring Vivi. The others echoed her sentiments, offering words of comfort and support.

Zoro's voice cut through the moment of reassurance. "Anyway, we've got a more pressing matter here. We can't wait a full year for the Log Pose to log a record."

"Nami, my sweet, where have you been?" Sanji's voice rang out as he came running toward them.

"Hey, Sanji," Luffy greeted him with a grin.

Sanji stopped short, his eyes widening as he saw Dorry. "Huh, who the hell are you? Are you Mr. 3?" he asked, incredulous.

"Wait, how do you know about him?" Nami asked, her curiosity piqued.

Sanji quickly explained his actions and how he had come into contact with Mr. Zero. "What! You really talked with him?" Vivi asked, her shock evident.

"Yeah, and it seemed he mistook me for that Mr. 3 guy," Sanji said with a shrug. "And now he thinks we're all dead. Well, that's what I told him, anyway," he added with a mischievous grin.

Usopp sighed in frustration. "How vexing! We threw off our pursuers, but we're stuck on this island."

Sanji looked around, assessing the situation. "What? Do you guys still have some unfinished business here? 'Cause I managed to get this from them and all that..." he said, taking out an Eternal Pose to Alabasta.

"...!" Everyone exclaimed in unison. The unexpected turn of events left them all in awe. Now they could head directly towards Alabasta. "Yahoo!" they rejoiced, the air filled with newfound energy. Vivi's face lit up with relief, the weight on her shoulders lifting.

"Alright then. Mr. Round, Mr. Giant! We'll be taking off now," Luffy announced with a broad grin, holding up the Eternal Pose.

"I see... If our new friends are leaving..." Brogy began, his deep voice resonating.

"Then we should send them off," Dorry finished, his expression softening.

Meanwhile, Sanji and Zoro continued their bickering, each determined to prove they were the better hunter. "No, mine's bigger!" they yelled back and forth.

"Who cares? They all look tasty to me," Luffy said, eyeing their prey with hunger.

"Buzz off!" Sanji and Zoro snapped in unison, not breaking their argument.

"Jeez, how long will those two bicker? Hey, you guys! It's time to set sail," Nami called out, her patience wearing thin.

"Ah, as you wish, Nami," Sanji replied, instantly compliant as he hopped on the Merry.

"Chh," Zoro grumbled, following suit, still bent on proving his catch was bigger. The Merry set sail, heading towards the open sea.

"Look! It's the giants," Luffy pointed out, his excitement palpable as the Merry neared the mouth of the river.

"They've come to see us off," Usopp said, his voice filled with admiration.

"Huh! Where's Lucas?" Zoro asked, glancing around.

"He said he's got something to take care of in his house," Igaram explained.

"Wonder what it could be," Usopp mused, curiosity flickering in his eyes.

Dorry, now fully on his feet, addressed them with a solemn yet grateful tone. "You've done a great deal for us during this little time we spent together, even fighting for the sake of our pride."

"Thus, in turn, no matter what foe..." Brogy continued, his voice booming with conviction.

"We will not let your flag be tarnished either..." Dorry added, his gaze steady and sincere.

"Trust us and no matter what, keep sailing forward," Brogy finished, the heartfelt promise hanging in the air like a protective charm. The giants' towering figures stood as silent sentinels, their gratitude clear in their eyes as the merry sailed on.

Back in GreenHaven, Lilian was washing clothes at her house. The wind blew gently, causing the hanged clothes to billow like white sails on a serene sea. As she scrubbed and rinsed, she noticed her necklace lighting up more than usual—a sign of contacting Lucas. Her heart skipped a beat.

Suddenly, a portal opened behind her. The swirling colors and light caught her attention, and she turned just in time to see Lucas stepping out.

Their eyes met, and Lilian's breath hitched. Tears of joy welled up and spilled over her cheeks as she dropped everything and ran to him. Lucas opened his arms wide, catching her in a tight embrace, holding her close.

For a moment, time stood still. The wind continued to play with the clothes on the line, but all that mattered was the warmth of their reunion, the strength of their bond, and the unspoken promise of never parting again.
