Transmigrated Into A Women Dominated World

Chapter 152: The Holo Summons

Sunlight, rich and warm, streamed through the massive window of Director Sorina's office, clearly illuminating the artificial dust motes dancing lazily in the air.

The scent of old paper, jasmine, and brewing coffee (far better than yesterday's attempt, she hoped, when Zaeryn was here) filled the space.

Sorina sat cross-legged on a plush cushion, carefully cleaning a delicate, pre-Scorch Fall artifact a small, iridescent bird statue, with a soft cloth, humming softly to herself. The office was her usual organized chaos: towering shelves crammed with ancient books jostled for space with glowing artifacts and exotic plants.

Ping.

The soft, insistent chime came from the sleek holo emitter firmly fixed in her ancient wooden desk. Sorina sighed, setting the bird statue down carefully on a stack of worn leather bound volumes. She knew that specific alert tone.

With a slight roll of her warm, amber eyes, she crossed to the desk and tapped the receiver.

The air above the emitter shimmered, coalescing into the sharp, imposing, life-sized image of High Commander Lysara. Her silver braids were tied into a ponytail, with severe military precision, her face a mask of command, and her expression as unyielding as the Citadel walls themselves.

Sorina leaned against her desk, forcing a pleasant smile. "High Commander Lysara. To what do I owe the pleasure… again?"

"Save the formalities, Sorina." Lysara replied, the hologram's gaze swept the room, taking in the comfortable clutter before settling back on Sorina. "I hope I didn't interrupt anything important."

"You didn't," Sorina sighed dramatically, running a hand through her loose auburn hair. "Is this going to be an everyday thing? You just appear on my screen and ask how he is doing?"

"Pretty much," Lysara replied, her voice flat, devoid of inflection.

Sorina let out another sigh, louder this time. "You asked yesterday, Lysara. And classes literally just started half an hour ago. He hasn't had time to accidentally level the campus… yet."

Lysara simply nodded, her expression unchanging. "Make sure he doesn't get into trouble."

Sorina tilted her head, her curiosity piqued, the warmth in her amber eyes sharpening slightly. "Okay, I know you on a personal level, enough to know that you're usually detached.Just how important is he to you, High Commander? You seem unusually invested. For you to be calling in so frequently must mean Zaeryn is… particularly significant to you?"

"His situation speaks for itself regarding why he is such a significant and worrisome case," Lysara stated, deftly sidestepping the personal implication. "Zaeryn isn't important to me personally," she continued, her voice remaining coolly detached, "However, he is to someone important. I am merely the messenger." Her gaze held Sorina's. "Look after him. Ensure his integration is… smooth."

Sorina let out a short, incredulous laugh, shaking her head as she leaned back against the desk. "Smooth integration? High Commander, with all due respect, 'smooth' isn't the word I'd use. Zaeryn isn't having trouble fitting in." She paused, her amber eyes glinting with a mixture of amusement and genuine concern. "Actually, I'm worried it's the opposite. Soon enough, this whole academy might start fighting over him."

Lysara's holographic eyebrow arched slightly, a silent demand for clarification.

Sorina nodded, turning away from the holographic image."See for yourself," she murmured, tapping commands onto her own console. The main holo-display shifted, replacing Lysara's image momentarily with a live surveillance feed from one of the academy's common areas.

The footage showed Zaeryn seated comfortably on a bench, clearly relaxed. He wasn't alone. Surrounding him were four young women. Jyn was practically leaning into his side, Morticia and Yuna were engaged in conversation with him from the side, and Genevieve observed with interest. Most strikingly, the sharp-featured girl with stormy eyes, Ingrid, was positioned directly between Zaeryn's legs, her back resting against his chest, looking completely at ease as if she belonged there. His hands rested casually near her hips.

Hell, they looked like lovers already, despite Zaeryn only being here for two days.

"This was taken less than an hour ago," Sorina stated, her voice dry. "He's been here barely two days. Integration isn't the problem, Lysara. Managing the... enthusiasm he seems to inspire? That's going to be the real challenge."

Lysara's holographic image watched the surveillance feed for a long, silent moment. The expected disapproval or strategic concern didn't materialize. Instead, she gave a single, almost imperceptible nod.

"He needs that," Lysara stated, her voice devoid of its usual sharp edge, replaced by something closer to clinical assessment.

Sorina blinked, taken aback by the unexpected response. "Needs it?" she repeated, confusion clouding her features. "High Commander, are you suggesting this... level of social integration is beneficial? It seems more likely to cause significant disruption, not to mention potential conflicts among the students."

Lysara's gaze flickered back to Sorina, her expression unreadable. "His development requires... specific conditions." She offered no further explanation. "Continue to monitor him, Sorina. Ensure his safety, but allow him the space to form connections. It is necessary."

Just before ending the transmission, Lysara added, her tone shifting back to crisp command, "One more thing, Director. Send me a classified list, top five students from each year level demonstrating the highest potential Vitae abilities and tier progression. Prioritize unique or S-Class potential, regardless of current rank or Tier. I need it by the end of the cycle today."

Sorina's eyebrows rose slightly. A request for specific student potential rankings? That was unusual, detailed work for the High Commander. "Of course, High Commander," she replied smoothly, masking her curiosity. "I'll compile the data immediately."

Lysara gave a final, curt nod. "Keep me informed of any significant developments regarding Zaeryn."

With that, the holographic image flickered and dissolved, leaving Sorina alone in her office, staring at the empty air where the High Commander had been, more puzzled than ever about the intricate game Lysara was playing – and the central role Zaeryn seemed destined to fill.

'What did she mean by his development requires specific conditions?' she wondered to herself.
