Chapter 41: The Journey to Ashvattha – A Guild Unveiled
[Date: March 13, 2025 | Time: 1:15 PM | Location: Halder Residence – Living Room]
Ankush leaned back in his chair, watching as Soymojit sat frozen in disbelief, his mouth slightly open as if trying to form words but failing miserably.
The silence stretched on for a few seconds longer before Soymojit finally exhaled loudly, shaking his head like a man trying to wake up from a particularly bizarre dream.
"Alright… let me get this straight. You're telling me that in the span of just a few days, you went from an ordinary college student to the Guildmaster of the first-ever independent guild in India, killed an S- ranked monster, and you want me to join your guild? Just like that?"
Ankush smirked, taking another sip of his chai. "Yep. That about sums it up."
Soymojit blinked, processing the information again, then slowly leaned back against the sofa. "…I must've hit my head on something. This can't be real."
Ankush chuckled. "You're overthinking this, bro. Just say yes."
Soymojit groaned. "Damn it, Ankush! You're supposed to be the lazy one! What the hell happened to my best friend!?"
Ankush grinned, sending a guild invitation request through the system. A holographic screen popped up in front of Soymojit, glowing faintly.
---
[Invitation Sent: Soymojit Halder has been invited to Ashvattha Guild. Accept? Yes / No]
---
Soymojit stared at the floating notification, then at Ankush, then back at the notification.
He sighed dramatically. "You're making it very hard to say no, you know that?"
Ankush shrugged. "I know."
With one last groan, Soymojit pressed 'Yes', and the system chimed in confirmation.
---
[Soymojit Halder has joined Ashvattha Guild.]
---
A warm glow surrounded Soymojit for a brief moment before fading away, signifying his official entry into the guild. He wiggled his fingers, staring at them as if expecting some sort of magical transformation.
"…Okay. Now what?"
Ankush smirked. "Wanna go check out the guild?"
Soymojit's eyes widened. "Wait, what? You mean, like… right now!?"
Ankush nodded. "Yeah, let's go. I haven't given anyone a proper tour yet, and since you're my first recruit—outside my parents, of course—you get to see everything firsthand."
Soymojit held up a finger. "Wait, wait, wait. We're just gonna drop everything and go to your monster-infested guild city in the middle of nowhere!?"
Ankush grinned. "Yes."
Soymojit groaned, dragging a hand down his face. "Why am I even surprised? This is exactly the kind of insane thing you'd do."
Ankush stood up, stretching his arms. "Come on, let's tell our parents and then head out."
Soymojit muttered under his breath but stood up as well. "Fine. But if I die, I'm haunting you forever."

Ankush and Soymojit stepped into the kitchen, where Monika Halder was kneading dough for the afternoon's chapatis while Ramesh Halder was reading from his mana screen, his brow furrowed in deep thought.
His mother looked up first, raising an eyebrow. "You boys look suspicious. What are you up to?"
Ankush smiled. "Nothing much. Just taking Soymojit to visit Ashvattha for the first time."
His father blinked, lowering his screen. "Now? Right after inviting him?"
Ankush shrugged. "Might as well. No point in delaying it."
His mother frowned, dusting her hands on a towel. "Will it be safe?"
Soymojit snorted. "Define safe."
Ankush shot him a glare before turning back to his parents. "We'll be fine. I have complete control over the teleportation node. If anything happens, I can bring us back immediately."
His father let out a deep sigh. "Alright, just be careful."
His mother, however, wasn't done. "And you better be back in time for dinner!"
Ankush chuckled. "Of course, Ma. You know I'd never miss your cooking."
Soymojit crossed his arms. "What about me? I'd like some food too."
His mother rolled her eyes but smiled. "Fine. But only if you come back in one piece."
Soymojit mock-saluted. "I'll do my best."
Ankush placed a reassuring hand on his mother's shoulder. "We'll be fine. I promise."
His father gave him a knowing look. "Then go. We'll see you later."
With that, Ankush and Soymojit headed toward the backyard, where the newly placed teleportation node awaited.
---
[Date: March 13, 2025 | Time: 1:45 PM | Location: Halder Residence – Backyard]
A shimmering blue portal stood in the middle of the garden, its swirling mana core humming softly as it pulsed with raw energy.
Soymojit stared at it, mouth slightly agape. "Dude. You have a literal magic gate in your backyard. Your parents are way too chill about this."
Ankush smirked. "Perks of having cool parents."
Soymojit eyed the glowing portal warily. "So… this will take us directly to Ashvattha?"
Ankush nodded. "Yep. Just step through."
Soymojit took a deep breath, muttering, "I swear, if I end up getting teleported into some monster's stomach, I'm haunting you."
Ankush laughed. "You talk too much. Just go."
With that, he stepped into the portal, vanishing in a flash of blue light.
Soymojit hesitated for half a second before groaning. "Here goes nothing."
He stepped forward, and in an instant, the world around him dissolved.

When Soymojit opened his eyes, he staggered slightly, his body adjusting to the sudden teleportation.
And then, his jaw dropped.
The sight before him was unlike anything he had ever seen.
Towering obsidian walls stretched as far as the eye could see, enclosing a vast cityscape still under construction. The massive Guild Hall stood at the heart of the city, its eight-story structure gleaming under the afternoon sun. Just beside it, a colossal tower loomed, its surface embedded with glowing inscriptions and leaderboard screens displaying rankings.
Mana-rich air swirled around them, thick and charged, unlike anything Soymojit had felt before. The sheer scale and grandeur of the place left him speechless.
"…Holy. Shit."
Ankush chuckled. "Welcome to Ashvattha."
Soymojit turned in slow circles, taking in every detail. "Dude… you built this? In a day!?"
Ankush grinned. "Not exactly built, but yeah. This is all mine."
Soymojit let out a low whistle. "Okay. I admit. This is… freaking insane."
Ankush patted his shoulder. "And this is just the beginning."
Soymojit exhaled deeply, finally accepting reality. He had signed up for something much bigger than he had imagined.
And strangely enough… he was excited.
"Alright, Guildmaster. Show me what you've got."
Ankush smirked. "Gladly."
As they walked toward the towering Guild Hall, the future of Ashvattha had never looked brighter.
