Transmigrated as the Fake Young Master, I’ll Beat up the Scumbags and Bitches

Vol. 1 - Ch. 375 - Worries

That evening, while cooking dinner, HuMing helped Ye QiuXue in the kitchen while Grandma watched TV in the living room.

But the entire time in the kitchen, Ye QiuXue was grumbling nonstop, and HuMing could only listen patiently.

"Seriously, what right does that man have to come back and ask us for money? He didn't give me a cent when I was in school. And when I was studying over there, he even had the nerve to bring that woman along to ask me for favors! How did I end up with a father like that?"

Ye QiuXue was fuming. Her life had been perfectly fine without him—calm, peaceful, even happy. But now, out of nowhere, he just had to come barging in again, ruining everything. This trip home was supposed to be joyful, yet now it was tainted by his presence.

She wished she could kick that man right out of her life. If not for Grandma, she would've already slapped him across the face—twice.

"Alright, alright, take it easy," HuMing soothed her, rubbing her back gently. "You know what kind of person he is—he's not worth your energy. And hey, Grandma's still outside. She's stuck between the two of you. It's her son, and he turned out like that... that's not easy for her either."

Ye QiuXue sighed, weighing her frustration against reason, and ultimately held herself back.

At the dinner table, Grandma cheerfully asked HuMing about his life and how things were going with the Gu family.

"By the way, while you two were out, a very pretty woman came by. Said she was your mother, HuMing. I was surprised at first—I thought maybe she didn't like QiuXue."

HuMing nearly spat out his soup. He had not expected his mom to come all the way out here. The roads were rough and winding, and even he had nearly gotten motion sickness during the trip.

"She came to see you? I didn't hear anything about that from her," HuMing said, still stunned. His mom, Mo QingXia, loved to travel and was often out and about. He rarely kept track of her schedule.

"She asked me not to tell you. Said she came secretly, and if you knew, you'd probably get upset," Grandma recalled. "She was very kind, though. Brought a bunch of gifts and said they were for me as a greeting. I was a bit stunned, to be honest."

"That sounds just like her. Don't take it the wrong way, Grandma."

"Oh, not at all! I was over the moon! Your mom said our QiuXue is a wonderful girl—she really likes her. Said she hopes we'll get you two married sooner rather than later. Then she held my hand and chatted with me like an old friend—no airs at all."

Grandma was genuinely happy that QiuXue had found such a good family. Her biggest fear had always been that after she was gone, QiuXue would end up with someone who didn't treat her well. But now, it was clear the Gu family truly valued her.

HuMing beamed from ear to ear. He hadn't expected his mother to play such a strong supporting role—while he was still worrying about how to win Grandma over, his mom had already won her heart.

Riding that high, HuMing boldly reached out and held Ye QiuXue's hand.

"Grandma," he said earnestly, "don't worry. Once we're of age, we'll register our marriage. You won't have to stress about anything."

Ye QiuXue blushed at his sudden declaration, especially with him holding her hand like that right in front of Grandma. But she didn't pull away.

Truthfully, just like HuMing said, it was only a matter of time before they got married. She just hadn't expected him to be this bold in front of her grandmother.

She pinched his thigh under the table, causing HuMing to suck in a sharp breath.

She shot him a glare as if to say, Don't be so forward! Grandma's right here!

But HuMing just smiled and gently squeezed her hand in return.

She retaliated by stepping hard on his foot, clearly not letting him off the hook.

Watching their little back-and-forth, Grandma couldn't help but smile like she'd just had a spoonful of honey.

After dinner, Grandma retired to her own room. Ye QiuXue returned from her shower, her hair still damp, and found HuMing lying on the bed browsing his phone.

She dried her hair with a towel for a moment, then sat down in front of the mirror.

"HuMing, come dry my hair for me."

"Your humble servant is here!"

HuMing rolled off the bed and stood at her side in one smooth motion. He picked up the hairdryer and began gently drying her hair with practiced hands.

"Hey, I haven't heard anything about Kang Xin in a long time. Hasn't she been missing for quite a while? Don't you ever worry about her?" Ye QiuXue asked, curiosity creeping into her voice.

After Kang Xin's disappearance, HuMing hadn't mentioned her at all. At first, Ye QiuXue thought maybe he'd just forgotten her, but the more she thought about it, the more intrigued she became. Even if Kang Xin was someone HuMing had picked up and raised, her origins remained a mystery.

"Of course I worry. But worrying doesn't help much. I can't go looking for them right now. The things they're involved in are dangerous—but I believe they can handle themselves."

"And what about you? Ever since that incident with Han ShuYi, you haven't run into any trouble lately, have you? Also, now that Gu ZhaoChuan's missing, hasn't your family tried to track him down?"

Ye QiuXue was fairly familiar with the situation, and she found the Gu family's lack of action strange.

"Gu ZhaoChuan's disappearance was deliberate. People say he vanished, but in truth, he left with someone. The whole point was to avoid facing me and returning to the Gu family. He doesn't know how the family feels about him, and he doesn't dare bet on their forgiveness. So the only option he had was to run."

Listening to HuMing, Ye QiuXue began to understand Gu ZhaoChuan's state of mind.

The boy who had once taken HuMing's place... in the end, he was simply too afraid of losing everything he had.

Still, if not for him taking HuMing's identity, she and HuMing might never have met. It was hard to say whether everything that happened was a blessing or a curse.

"HuMing... if Gu ZhaoChuan never existed, do you think we'd have still met? I mean, we weren't even supposed to go to the same school."

She stared at him through the mirror, as if trying to see into his thoughts.

HuMing immediately recognized the danger in this question.

A textbook death trap.

He carefully kneaded her shoulders, trying to keep things light and smooth.

"Let's not go down the what-if road. Honestly, if I hadn't been pushed away by everyone else, and if you hadn't been the only one willing to talk to me, we probably never would've grown close."

Then he leaned in and blew a gentle breath into her ear, sending a shiver down her spine.

"Get away from me!" she shrieked.

"The night's still young... how about we..." HuMing grinned mischievously as his hand slid slowly toward her clothes—
