Chapter 4: chapter 4 : Amelia Hart

Moments before

Miss..."

"What happens now?"

"I feel that something is not right. Better, stay behind. We'll take care of protecting it!"

"No! I don't need your protection. Better to find out what is happening."

"I'm sorry, lady, but your security is our priority. Please trust us."

"Safety? Ask an ironic smile, I don't want them to protect me. I can handle myself perfectly alone."

"I'm sorry, but we can't allow it to be endangered."

"No! It's an order, go and find out what is happening." I said firmly

"Sorry, Miss, but we can't afford to separate from you. Could you go back, please?"

"No!" I replied, firmly. "This time I'm not going to go back. I'm tired that you always decide for me. Don't make me repeat it: I'm going, or go." I said, my tone slightly irritated.

Understood, we will trust your trial and we will enter immediately, boys, follow me!

The image of three men following their orders, dressed in black suits and armed with canes or swords at the waist or back, was something completely common for the young woman. For her, it was nothing more than another of those details that were part of her daily routine, a scene so common that she did not even get her attention.

Thum ...!

The train stopped sharply and felt how my heart accelerated in my chest. The passengers around me were stirred and some staggered for the impact. A chill toured my back, my sixth sense told me that something was not right, that something had happened.

Bang!

A burst was heard in the adjoining car, adding more tension to the environment. Curiosity invaded me, but also an alert sensation that intensified with every second.

Creeeak ...

A strange man entered the car, covered from head to toe with black clothes. He slid the door with a softness that, if not because of the gaze that he launched, would have gone unnoticed. His presence was disturbing, almost fun, as if enjoying the bewilderment he caused. With a crooked smile, his eyes toured the passengers, evaluating us one by one, as if looking for any reaction, some indication of fear. His low and almost involuntary laugh made the environment even more tense. The hidden gun under his coat was just a detail compared to the way he moved, as if everything was a game for him.

The atmosphere became dense, almost sticky, and although I tried to stand firm, I could not help feeling exposed under his gaze. Something in the air became increasingly unbearable, as if he were enjoying my discomfort. When his eyes stuck in mine, a chill toured my back, but I refused to show it. His gaze was unpleasant. In such a disgusting way it was impossible to ignore it. There was something in it, a dirty hunger that made me feel a deep repulsion.

The man licked his lips with a slow and calculated movement, as if savoring the control he thought about me. But I wasn't going to give him the pleasure of showing me affected. I stood, challenging, and looked directly. I could end him with a simple gesture, but I decided to wait. I wanted to see how far it came. He was not going to be part of his game.

The man was still approaching slowly, his crooked smile remained on his face, while threw insinuations, every word a sharp dagger that tear my patience.

"Doll, come here, let me see you. Let me know you in depth ..." His words crawled, as a poison in the air.

"What do you want?" I responded , but keeping calm, although inside a growing rage began to burn.

"Nothing ... I just want to make you feel a woman," he said with a wicked smile, approaching even more, his hot breath brushing my face.

I shuddered, but I didn't let it be noticed. "Shut up," I muttered, without losing my composure, while my eyes were firm, but with a growing feeling of disgust.

The man continued advancing, every safer step, enjoying the discomfort that caused me. The discomfort was not only mine, but of all the others, although only a few dared to react.

"You're going to see what it means to be a real woman ..." he said as he raised his hand, as if he were going to touch me.

Before I could do anything, a passenger at the bottom of the car could not stand anymore. "Imbecile!" I thought, when I saw him pounce towards man. I tried to stop him, shout him that he did not do it

Bang!

I arrived a step late. The bullet was embedded in his left shoulder, sending him back with a drowned cry. The wound seemed to be just a warning, a sign that there would be no next time.

"Where we stayed, beauty!" His crooked smile reflected a control that was not willing to release.

His words were like sharp knives, each cutting a little more my patience, my resistance. But I knew I couldn't lose control, although at that time I could end it. I didn't want passengers to get involved, I didn't want my fight to become a show.

He knew it, his eyes shone with malice, enjoying my discomfort, from that apparent vulnerability that was so far from the truth. I saw it clearly: it fed on my discomfort, my apparent weakness. But I wasn't going to give him that taste. I was not going to allow me to see me weak, that I thought I could break so easily.

I concentrated inside me, closing my eyes for a second while letting the mana agree. I could feel it, powerful, vibrating strongly, hoping to leave. I was ready to explode, but I knew it wasn't the time. I still had to wait, I had to find the exact opportunity. Only one, and everything would end.

It was then, as if the sky had heard my prayers, when ...

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The rumble of the shots rumbled in the car, followed by the echoes of drowned screams and the sound of bullets crossing the air. A moment of tension slipped into the atmosphere, heavy and dense, while we were all paralyzed by the chaos that surrounded us.

The man, momentarily bewildered by the rumble, turned his back and began to go back. A dark shadow crossed his face, the veins of his forehead stunned, as if he were containing an increasing anger. His smile, that disgusting smile, vanished, exposing a seriousness that he had not shown before, as if the mystery behind the shots deserved his attention. That brief second, loaded with tension, did not go unnoticed.

Without thinking, I extended my hand forward, letting the energy flow through me. I felt the mana burn in my veins, an scorching heat traveling every fiber of my being, each pulse becoming fire. My breathing became heavy.

I closed my eyes briefly, visualizing how the mana that descended from my body was behind me, where she began to mold quickly. He compressed, taking shape, and then reconfigured quickly. In a flickering, the mana, previously unstable, began to compact and acquire a more defined way. In a second, three fire whirlpools were condensed, similar to elongated and sharp projectiles that floated suspended around me.

The flames danced with a fierce force, overflowing such a threatening energy that could feel on the skin.

Maybe realizing what was about to happen, the man looked at me bewildered and tried to kill me.

"βέλος πυρός" (Fire arrow)

But it was too late. The spell was already finished.

At the moment the words left my lips, I made a rapid movement with my wrist, sending the flare forward. His power was immediate, unleashing a wave of heat and energy so intense that he forced the man to release the weapon. The air around him was distorted, as if he were being melted by the force of the flames.

"That...?!" His victory expression became horror. His body began to burn, the flames that stuck in his chest; shoulder and front, consuming it while I watched it. I did not feel piety or remorse; only satisfaction to see how his miserable life faded.

"Finally ... I finished. I finished."

Returning my gaze, I saw that people were still scared, their eyes quickly deviated every time I approached me. He could feel how his bodies tense, some instinctively backed away. Fear was evident, and although I tried to ignore it, I couldn't stop noticing how they avoided me. I couldn't stand the tension in the air, so, without thinking too much, I gently slim the door and put myself in the forward car ...
