Transcending Realities: A Journey to Reclaim Home

Chapter 91: Plans and Consequences

After completing the mountain of paperwork, I turned to Tsunade, my expression serious. "How are we going to handle the issues with Hiruzen and his associates, as well as the Chunin Exam results that were interrupted by the recent attack?" I asked, trying to gauge her thoughts on the matter.

Tsunade leaned back in her chair, her gaze thoughtful. "As for those four, I'm not entirely sure how we'll address them, but I can manage the Chunin Exam results," she replied, confident in her ability to handle the situation.

I raised an eyebrow. "You're planning on promoting them to Jonin and making me your adviser? As for the rest, I can handle assigning Chunin," she continued.

I smirked. "Who would want to spend an entire day locked in a room, though? But if you agree to reward me for my efforts, I might just reconsider."

Tsunade shot me a playful glare, her voice tinged with authority. "Don't even think about it. I'm the Hokage. You will obey me."

"Fine, but not every day. Two or three days a week at most, that's the maximum I'm willing to sacrifice my freedom for," I said, conceding with a grin.

Tsunade's expression softened as if she had won the battle. "Alright, that's acceptable."

Turning to Shizune, I offered a suggestion. "Shizune, since you'll be working closely with Tsunade, I think it's time you start taking on more responsibilities at the hospital. It will help improve your skills and prepare you for the challenges ahead."

"Yes, Tsunade-sama, I'll do my best," Shizune replied, her voice quiet but resolute, though a hint of shyness still lingered.

After Shizune left to attend to her duties, Tsunade and I were left alone in the Hokage office. I walked around the room, setting up a barrier to ensure our conversation remained private.

"Hey, Naruto, what are you doing?" Tsunade called out, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.

"Just setting up a barrier," I replied casually, focusing on the task at hand.

"Why?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.

I paused, turning to face her. "I have a plan for how to handle the punishments for those four, and I need to ensure that nothing leaks out while we discuss the consequences," I explained.

Tsunade nodded in understanding, sensing the gravity of the situation. "I see. Good thinking."

Tsuna raised an eyebrow, looking at me with a mix of curiosity and concern. "What kind of idea are you talking about?" she asked, her tone more serious now.

I walked back over to her, my hands in my pockets. "I was thinking we need to make sure everyone understands the full extent of the damage those four caused, not just within Konoha, but to the entire village structure. It's not something we can just sweep under the rug."

Tsuna sighed, leaning back in her chair. "You're right, Naruto. It's going to be difficult to manage, but we need to handle it with care. If the villagers find out about all the dirty work those four did, it'll create a lot of unrest. But we also can't let them get away with it."

"Exactly," I said, nodding. "We should make it public, but in a controlled way. Have it be part of a larger conversation about rebuilding and moving forward. I'll help you with the strategy, but we need to get the support of the other clans too."

Tsuna tapped her finger on the desk, thinking. "I'll have to talk to the clan leaders first. Let's ensure we have everything in place before making any big announcements."

I glanced at her, admiring her calm determination. "You're handling this well, Tsuna. Just don't let it all wear you down. You're the Hokage now, and this village needs you to lead with both strength and wisdom."

She smiled softly at me. "I'm lucky to have you by my side, Naruto. Now, let's take care of the fallout from this whole situation. We'll make sure those four answer for their actions."

I gave her a reassuring nod. "I'll do whatever it takes."

As we continued discussing the next steps, I knew the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but with Tsuna at the helm and the support of the village behind her, I believed we could face any challenge that came our way.

"Make sure you handle this as quickly as possible," I said, my tone serious. "Other villages are always looking for an opportunity to strike. We can't afford to leave ourselves vulnerable."

Tsunade nodded, her expression hardening. "Yes, Naruto. Those fools will definitely try to use this as an opportunity to attack the village. We can't let our guard down." She paused for a moment, her mind already racing with the necessary steps to ensure the village's safety. "I'll handle it. We'll deal with this swiftly."

I could see the weight of the situation settling in on Tsuna's face as she processed my words. The urgency was clear — the last thing we needed was for Konoha to be seen as weak or divided during such a critical time. The other villages would waste no time exploiting any sign of vulnerability.

"We'll need to prepare the village defenses," Tsuna continued, her voice steady despite the growing pressure. "Not just physically, but politically too. If the clans are divided, we'll be easy targets. I'll need you to help me gather intel and prepare the council. We can't afford to let them see us falter."

"Understood," I said, my tone firm. "I'll speak to the Uchiha and make sure they're ready, just in case. We can't let anyone take advantage of the chaos."

"Good," she replied, her eyes locking onto mine with a sharpness that showed her focus. "But we also need to act fast with the internal issues. The longer we wait to address the truth about Hiruzen and his friends, the more time we give to the rumors to spread and fester."

I nodded in agreement. "I'll handle the communication with the clans. Once they know the truth, they'll know we're serious about keeping Konoha safe."

"Do it quickly, Naruto. And make sure we stay ahead of the game." Tsuna's words held weight, and I could feel the weight of leadership pressing down on both of us.

"We'll get through this," I said, offering her a small but determined smile. "You're not alone in this, Tsuna. We'll protect this village together."

With that, we both knew the work ahead of us was immense, but we also knew we had each other and our allies. We couldn't afford to fail, not now. The safety of Konoha, and all its people, depended on it.
