Chapter 113: Fight with kuruma
"Hey, want to make a bet?" I asked, a mischievous grin on my face.
"What bet, brat?" Kurama replied, his massive eyes narrowing as he leaned closer.
"I just thought, talking to you isn't going to change our relationship. So, let's fight each other. Whoever loses has to listen to the winner. What do you say?" I challenged.
Kurama paused for a moment, a deep growl reverberating through the space. "Let me think," he muttered.
"So, the mighty and strongest tailed beast is backing off from fighting a 13-year-old boy? I can only imagine what the other beasts would say if they heard about this," I said, smirking and crossing my arms.
Kurama's eyes narrowed, his tails twitching in irritation. "You really think you can provoke me with childish taunts, brat? Fine. I'll humor you," he growled, his deep voice reverberating through the space.
"But let me make this clear: I'm not going easy on you. If you lose, you'll stop with this foolish idea of trying to 'befriend' me. You'll simply use my power when necessary and leave me alone. Got it?"
I smirked confidently, meeting his fiery gaze without flinching. "Deal. But if I win, you'll have to work with me, not against me. No holding back your chakra or sabotaging my training. You'll be my partner, Kurama."
Kurama huffed, his fangs glinting as he grinned. "Big words for a brat. Very well. Let's see if you can back them up. Prepare yourself, Naruto!"
In an instant, the world around me shifted, and I found myself in a vast, rocky landscape within the mindscape. Kurama loomed over me, his massive form casting a shadow that seemed to stretch for miles.
"Don't disappoint me, brat," he said, baring his teeth.
I clenched my fists, feeling the rush of adrenaline as I readied myself. "Let's do this, Kurama. I'm not backing down!"
The battle between us began, a clash of willpower and determination.
"Wait a minute, let me undo the seal," I said, focusing my chakra on the seal.
As the seal released, the massive gates creaked open, and Kurama stepped out of the cage.
"It's nice to be free," he said, stretching his massive body.
"Yeah, it's good to be free," I replied, a grin forming on my face. "But don't get too comfortable. Let's do this, Kurama!" I said, throwing kunai around the field, marking my territory for the fight.
Kurama wasted no time, charging at me with his massive claws aimed to strike. I quickly used the Flying Raijin technique, vanishing in an instant and reappearing above his head. Without hesitation, I delivered a solid punch to his head, sending him flying back.
As he tried to recover, I dashed toward him and delivered a powerful kick, making him stumble further.
"Hey, brat, you've got some impressive power," he said, stabilizing himself and glaring at me with newfound respect.
"What? Are you trying to surrender?" I teased, watching his reaction closely.
Kurama's expression hardened, and he didn't respond with words. Instead, he began forming a Tailed Beast Bomb, the swirling energy growing ominously in his mouth. He launched it directly at me.
I swiftly used Flying Raijin again, dodging the devastating attack with ease.
"That's Minato's jutsu," Kurama growled, his frustration evident. "It's annoying."
"With this jutsu, you can't hit me," I said confidently. "I can dodge all your attacks and keep countering. You don't stand a chance to win. Why not just surrender?"
"Do you think I'll surrender that easily?" Kurama growled, baring his teeth. "No!"
His determination fueled his next move, and I braced myself, knowing this fight was far from over.
Kurama roared, shaking the ground beneath us as he summoned his immense chakra. His tails whipped around, each one glowing with raw power. "You think dodging makes you untouchable, brat? Let's see how you handle this!"
With a mighty swipe of his tails, Kurama sent a shockwave of chakra in every direction. The landscape shifted violently.
I leaped high into the air, narrowly avoiding the impact. "You're as destructive as ever, Kurama! But brute force won't win you this fight."
"Then I'll just up the intensity!" Kurama snarled, charging forward with astonishing speed for his size. He lashed out with his claws, and I used Flying Raijin to teleport behind him, delivering another punch to his back.
Kurama growled in frustration but quickly spun around, forcing me to retreat to a safe distance. "You've got skill, I'll give you that," he admitted. "But let's see how you handle this!"
Kurama began to gather his chakra again, but this time, instead of a Tailed Beast Bomb, he released a powerful shockwave of red chakra. The force was immense, and even my Flying Raijin struggled to keep up with the chaotic waves of energy.
I knew I had to change tactics. "Kurama, you're holding back," I said, landing a few feet away. "If you really want to test me, then fight me seriously."
Kurama's eyes narrowed, and a grin spread across his massive face. "You've got guts, brat. Fine. Let's see if you can handle my full strength!"
He released a deafening roar, his chakra erupting like a tidal wave. The entire mindscape seemed to tremble under his power.
"Alright," I muttered to myself, clenching my fists. "Time to get serious."
I activated Sage Mode, the orange pigment forming around my eyes as natural energy surged through me. "Let's end this, Kurama!"
The battle intensified as we clashed, trading blows and testing each other's limits. Despite his size and power, Kurama's attacks were calculated and precise. I countered with everything I had, using my speed, Sage Mode, and the Flying Raijin to stay one step ahead.
Eventually, I found an opening. As Kurama lunged at me, I teleported above him and formed a Rasengan infused with natural energy. "This is it!" I shouted, driving the Rasengan into his back.
Kurama roared in pain, his massive body crashing to the ground. For a moment, silence filled the air.
Then, he began to laugh—a deep, rumbling laugh that echoed through the mindscape. "You've got guts, brat. And strength to match."
I landed in front of him, panting but standing tall. "Does that mean I win?"
Kurama huffed, his massive body relaxing. "Fine. You've earned it. I'll work with you, but don't think for a second that I'll be some obedient pet."
I smirked, extending a hand toward him. "Wouldn't dream of it. We're partners, Kurama."
He stared at my hand for a moment before bumping it gently with one massive claw. "Partners, brat."
"Let's do it," I said, raising my fist toward Kurama.
He looked at me for a moment, then raised his massive paw, and our fists touched. In that instant, I felt an overwhelming surge of chakra flood through me.
I was baffled. "What's this… this amount of chakra? And this is only half of it? When you were whole, just how powerful were you?" I asked in awe.
Kurama smirked, his massive teeth glinting. "Well, now you understand, brat. If I were whole, I could've easily defeated you," he said, smugly puffing out his chest.
"Like you would," I shot back with a grin.
"Brat!" he shouted, his voice booming, but I ignored him.
Looking down at myself, I noticed an orange cloak of chakra forming over my body. Six magatama symbols adorned the collar area, a clear connection to the Sage of Six Paths.
"Kurama, even if you were whole, I could have defeated you," I said confidently, raising a hand to show him my Wood Style jutsu.
Kurama's eyes widened in shock. "What?! Why do you have Wood Style?" he demanded.
"I worked hard to get to this point," I said, my tone steady. "I've trained endlessly to master this power."
Kurama remained silent for a moment, processing what he saw.
"Anyway, you know, right? With this, I could easily defeat you," I said teasingly, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah," he muttered, his ears drooping slightly, his face showing rare vulnerability.
"Don't worry," I said, trying to lighten the mood. "I won't use it on you. I've got plenty of jutsu in my arsenal. This one is rare for me to use."
Kurama stared at me for a moment before huffing, his mood slightly lifted. "Hmph. You're an annoying brat, but at least you've got some talent."
