Chapter 290: Don't Play Tricks in the Crew
Sawyer impatiently eyed Magnus Wood's sniveling appearance.
How could they choose someone like him as the assistant director?
"I have no issues," Aurelia Shaw's voice rang out. She looked toward Eliza Fletcher, "Do you have any issues?"
That damned Aurelia was setting a trap for her again. If she admitted having issues, it would be admitting her inferiority.
She had already lost to her once during the audition; there's no way she could lose again now.
Otherwise, what would the film crew think of her?
In this crew, there only needed to be one shining star, and that person could only be her!
Eliza Fletcher suppressed her hatred, her small face showing a pure and gentle smile, "I have no issues either. I'll follow the director's arrangements. Sister Aurelia, if I get too carried away while acting, please forgive me. I tend to get deeply immersed in my roles, and it's hard to maintain boundaries."
Hard to maintain boundaries?
She's just making excuses for losing control earlier, right?
Aurelia didn't expose her, responding with a smile, her enchanting eyes filled with laughter that nonetheless sent chills down one's back. "We're all actors, and I do have some professionalism. However, when I act, I take it very seriously. So if I accidentally go too hard and hurt you, don't be mad at me, alright, my dear sister?"
Aurelia's words had a double meaning, and how could Eliza Fletcher not catch it, her face turning white for an instant.
Aurelia sneered inwardly; compared to Eleanor Spencer's tactics, she didn't care about Eliza's little schemes.
Soon, the second take began.
Eliza Fletcher grabbed Aurelia's arm, her fingertips digging into Aurelia's flesh. Before Eliza could react, Aurelia shoved her away, twice as hard as she had earlier, without a hint of mercy.
At the moment of being thrown off, she even saw the cold, thin smile on Aurelia's lips, chilling to the bone.
How terrifying was this woman?
Unfortunately, this scene was turned away from the camera and wasn't captured on film.
Later, Eliza Fletcher wanted to find this footage to frame Aurelia, but she couldn't succeed.
Having successfully provoked Eliza Fletcher again, the second take turned out even better than the first. Sawyer nodded in satisfaction to wrap things up. Seeing Eliza Fletcher's unhappy face, he couldn't resist offering a word of advice.
"Eliza, this take was great, the effect exceeded my expectations. But since you're an actress, focus on acting. As for everything else, do less. You're a smart kid; you understand what I mean, don't you?"
Eliza shivered, feeling like she was plunged into an icy cave.
Sawyer's words seemed encouraging on the surface but were actually warning her not to play any tricks in front of him. She thought she hid it well, but it turns out she had been seen through long ago.
Her future career...
Everyone in the circle knows that Sawyer is straightforward and never lies. If he criticized her professionalism even a bit, her career would truly be over.
"Director Sawyer..." Eliza Fletcher started fearfully.
Sawyer knew what she wanted to say and patted her shoulder, "This take was good. I only care about the performance, but what happens off-screen, I don't want to keep witnessing."
Eliza sighed in relief, understanding that Sawyer wouldn't pursue this incident further. However... Aurelia! Don't think this matter is just over!
A cold light flashed in her eyes.
——
Outside the crew's periphery.
A low-key black military vehicle parked behind a tree.
Mason Nightshade sat inside the car, eyes fixed on the surveillance footage taken by a drone on the display screen.
