Chapter 202: Killing Intent
Mason Nightshade's thin lips tightened, "I understand, I'll ask her and figure out the whole situation. But...Aurelia, trust me, alright?
Aurelia Shaw's lips curled into a faint, cold smile. She no longer looked at Mason Nightshade, turning her head to gaze out the window, her eyes growing colder inch by inch.
How ridiculous. Just now, she even had a flicker of hope that Mason Nightshade would voluntarily confess the real reason he married her.
Staring at the scenery flashing by like a fleeting light, Aurelia Shaw couldn't make out the pedestrians or the moving cars, only feeling a dull ache at her temples and her eyes burning with irritation.
She closed her eyes for a moment, her brows deeply furrowed, yet she didn't let anyone notice her distress.
Mason Nightshade couldn't discern the expression on Aurelia Shaw's face, he could only see her slim figure turned away from him, constantly feeling the air around her growing colder.
Did he say something wrong?
Mason Nightshade reached out his hand and stopped abruptly when he was about to touch Aurelia Shaw. He was sensitive to changes in a person's aura, and at that moment, he sensed a murderous intent coming from Aurelia Shaw.
Directed at him.
Surprise, confusion, and grief flashed in Mason Nightshade's eyes. His hand froze in mid-air and eventually retreated.
If Mason Nightshade could sense it, Grayson Quinn naturally could too, and it seemed Aurelia Shaw deliberately didn't hide it. Curious glances flickered over her, and a strong curiosity rose within him.
Very strange, something felt off.
Aurelia Shaw was different from the investigation, a sheltered young lady unfamiliar with the darkness of human nature, at most willful and arrogant. Why was the murderous intent around her so intense, so cold?
If it were usual, Grayson Quinn would have already pulled out his gun and dealt with the other party.
What kept him calm was Mason Nightshade being there too, and since Mason Nightshade wasn't reacting, it meant there was no need for action.
Ah! Grayson Quinn was going crazy.
Why did it feel like these two were hiding secrets from him?
Lately, was his aura off? He used to toy with others, leaving them hanging, but since meeting this couple, why did it feel like the tables had turned?
The journey continued in silence.
The car stopped at Nightshade Residence.
Grayson Quinn was so frustrated, as soon as the two got out of the car, he stepped on the gas and left.
Aurelia Shaw didn't even glance back, she walked straight inside, as if she had something urgent to do.
Mason Nightshade watched her figure enter, then turned and walked into the garage, drove out a car, and sped away while taking out his phone to call Gustavo Yates.
"Find out which room Eleanor Spencer is in for me."
His deep voice was cold enough to freeze.
On the other end, Gustavo Yates shivered and hurriedly went to carry out Mason Nightshade's instructions, internally wondering: What did Eleanor Spencer do to offend the boss again? Couldn't she just stay quiet?
Aurelia Shaw detected something was wrong when she heard the car, quickly walking outside, only to see a vehicle disappearing into the distance.
She sighed, looking down at the freshly printed divorce agreement in her hand.
Looks like she'll have to wait until next time.
Who knows when she'll see Mason Nightshade again.
Aurelia Shaw thought for a moment, folded the divorce agreement, and tucked it into her pocket, so she could hand it to Mason whenever she saw him.
Gazing in the direction the car disappeared, Aurelia Shaw squinted her almond-shaped eyes, with a touch more depth in her eyes.
Just as she was about to turn and head back inside, her phone rang in her pocket.
Balthazar Shaw was calling.
Guessing the reason for his call, Aurelia Shaw smiled deeply, raised her slender finger, pressed the answer button, "Hello?"
