Toman's Black Cat

Chapter 66: Mikey would be sad

Sanzu's POV

He had never spoken a word to Y/n. He saw her, but he wouldn't approach her. When Mikey said she was a traitor and to avoid her, he did without hesitation. He hated her with all he had seeing Mikey so broken over this girl. However, once there was light shed on more and more aspects of what she had really been hiding, he didn't miss the look of pain Mikey carried.

He was the only one who didn't say anything about Bloody Halloween. He knew it hurt Mikey to talk about her, so why bring it up? However, it's clear Mikey still cares about her, so Sanzu made an effort to keep an eye on her.

He would keep an eye on her from afar and he did notice that she seemed less and less stable. She would walk around at all hours looking completely out of it. She would've been assaulted, but he took care of that quickly if it became apparent she would get hurt. He even walked up to her at one point, and she walked past him without stopping or even looking his way. It was like she wasn't even there, wasn't paying attention.

This concerned him dearly, because she was walking down the sidewalk and didn't bother to wait for a chance to safely cross the road.

Mikey will be so sad if she dies.

He knew for sure that she was out of it when he pulled her back from stepping in front of a car, but she didn't say anything or even acknowledge him at all. Like she didn't feel or hear him.

He walked her back to her place, but he did find it odd that she hesitated for over an hour at the door, just staring at it. He assumed she would call someone and hoped she would call Mikey. When she continued to stare at the door instead of opening it, he finally walked up and opened the door for her.

He pushed her in and as soon as the door was almost closed, he got a strong whiff of what smelled like cigarette smoke.

Y/n doesn't smoke. He stayed outside her home for a long time waiting to hear any sounds, like talking or something, but not even the lights came on.

He decided to keep investigating, which is why he is now looking into as much as he can. The smell of smoke reminded him of Hanma, but if she really was a traitor and she was with him, her response would've been different.

She wouldn't have hesitated to go into her own home. She would have freely run into the arms of her supposed boyfriend. Like she always did with Mikey. Except, apparently, they weren't even dating. What's up with that?

He would have loved to have stopped caring when he heard about the Holy Night battle.

How dare she call Mikey a monster after all the things he's done for everyone. I should've killed her.

The thought was banished as soon as it came when he remembered the first time that he saw her. She was smiling. It was amazingly stupid how easily she could be flustered, but it was always entertaining. Mikey would show up next to her half an inch from her face and she would squeak like a little chipmunk.

Sanzu would simply watch from a little way away during those times, overjoyed that someone could love Mikey like he should be.

That's why I don't understand. You can fake a lot of things, but that was real. She loves Mikey. Which means someone else set her up to hurt Mikey. An enemy used her to hurt Mikey.

Sanzu was currently sitting in front of a pile of beat-up jerks as he mused over the predicament and how he could best help Mikey be happy again. He was ripped out of his thoughts when one of them had the nerve to get up to start fighting again. Sanzu simply smiled.

I'll just beat in more heads until I have more answers instead of questions for Mikey.
