Toman's Black Cat

Chapter 62: you're really him

"Well, at least I know you're not a spy. A smart person would've taken the sack off when they thought they were alone. Yet, here you are, sitting there looking like an idiot deer in headlights." He finished his comment with a sneer. "Now, what do you want?" He demanded as he crossed his arms.

As his face became clearer, I also could see Kakucho to his side. They still looked really blurry, but I the longer I tried to focus, the more details I could make out.

They both look intense and sound intense too. Trying to form a response is difficult though. I cried for such a long time on the way here but kept trying to hold it in. So now my head freaking hurts, making it hard to focus.

"You gonna answer me or should I just make you?" Izana's tone sounded like he was quickly losing his patience. Suddenly the mood changed ever so slightly and there was a noticeable twitch in his eye. Kakucho stood eying me down but with a slight look of concern written on his face.

He let out an irritated growl as he stomped closer to me, bringing his face within an inch of mine, grabbing my chin, seemingly inspecting my face. The sudden closeness made me shiver out of fear as I tried to understand what he might be thinking.

He honestly looks more pissed off now than he did when I didn't immediately respond. He tilted his head to the side staring intently at my face without letting go of my chin, like he was trying to take note of every mark. "Did the brothers hurt you?" The words dripped with icelike rage, like somehow if that did happen, it would be an insult to him in some way.

The question caught me off guard. "What?" I was trying to be calm, but the confusion was sending my mind reeling.

"You heard me." Was all he would say in response. I didn't know what to say. Why would he even ask something like that? He gave the order to bring me here with a sack over my head like I was to be executed for treason or something.

"No, they didn't hurt me or anything." I muttered. "Do I have a bruise or something on my face?"

"No, idiot! Why were you crying?" He turned around to grab a small mirror and thrusted it in my face. I was able to focus and immediately understood what he meant. I had dried tears running down my cheeks and dried around my eyes.

How lovely…oh….OH!

"No, they didn't hurt me. They brought me right here, but I was a bit sensitive is all." It was the truth. He stared into my eyes for a long time, but I couldn't find it in me to turn away. I stared right back, trying to put the image of the white tiger I remembered hallucinating with the face in front of me now.

The features were obviously different, but it was the hair and eyes that were exactly the same

"You really are my white tiger…" I muttered. The comment caused him to jump back like he had just been threatened, his smile disappearing. He watched me for a long time, before his smile returned.

"You're…..white tiger?" His eyes went from threatening to amused. I ran over what I'd said before realizing the issue.

I'm gonna die…
