Chapter 60: A bad feeling
Rindo's POV
This chick has got to be the dumbest..
Ran was the one who volunteered to question her like it was no problem. The problem is that she came to our hideout and stood outside waiting.
Does she wanna die or something? That's definitely what'll happen. Stupid..
Rindo was more than surprised when he watched Izana give the order to grab her. Not kill her. GRAB her. The command surprised everyone, but everyone knew better than to question it.
Ran moved just enough to let them cover her head, before pulling both her arms behind her back. Rindo didn't even need to ask what he whispered in her ear. When she started blasting him and he started laughing, Rindo could only shake his head in annoyance.
Where does she get off hating my brother? She is the one who sought him out, so what is her problem?
Izana gave him and Ran directions on where to take her through Kakucho. Rindo couldn't believe the stupidest luck with this chick.
Where they were taking her wasn't far off, and she wasn't even smart enough to fight back at all except to practically growl at his brother every time he flirted with her. At one point, it pissed Rindo off so bad, he stopped her by jerking her arm.
"I'd be really careful how you treat us. You came to us and we can do whatever we want to you." He tightened his grip on her elbow, pulling her close enough so she would sense he meant every word of his threat. No need to whisper it. "We can make you disappear or throw you to the guys so they can have their fun, yeah?"
Her reply wasn't what he thought it would be. What it should be. "Rin, I don't hate you guys if that's why you're saying this." He felt his eye twitch as she let out a tired sigh. "I know you're still here Ran Haitani. Don't flirt with me, alright? I've had enough of being hurt and.." Rindo felt her breathing shake a little. "I don't want to be played with anymore. You can flirt with anyone, but please don't do that to me when it's clear I'm nothing more than a toy to you. You don't mean it…so just….stop."
He looked to Ran who seemed to only be struck speechless for a moment before he smirked and made like he was going to say something again, but hearing her sniffle, they both froze.
Rindo knew for both of them, when they first saw her be smacked by the one they thought was her boyfriend into a nearby car, the sound of a crack wasn't….what they were used to.
Jerk enemy gangs. Sure. People who piss us off. Of course.
He'll never forget seeing that look in Ran's eye. Like he cared. Rindo didn't say anything because admitting he also cared was annoying and stupid.
He assumed that when she came to find them, she wanted to be with Ran, which he wasn't surprised about. When all she ended up doing was hugging him and thanking them both, without giving her number, sending a flirty smile, or literally anything they were used to, it made him very cautious.
Seeing her show up at their hideout seemed to prove he was right to be suspicious except she didn't fight back, when they all knew she could fight.
The only one she cursed out was Ran but it wasn't bad like she'd kill him. She would say colorful variations of 'Shut up, Ran!' It was actually pretty funny. Still though…
What does she want?
Inupi's POV
He and Koko had been walking around when they saw a very familiar face. Koko elbowed him in the chest before pointing in the direction he was looking. "Wasn't she the chick that called Mikey a monster?"
Inupi looked without a second thought and nodded. Koko had the brilliant idea to follow her, most likely to start some trouble. Inupi followed along, but the longer they followed her and the more the surroundings looked dangerous, Inupi began to walk faster to try to call out to her.
Koko quickly yanked Inupi back around a corner when she was grabbed by the Haitani brothers. Inupi felt his eyes go wide. They knew she wasn't a traitor, so why…?
She didn't scream, so she wasn't surprised. But if she wasn't a repeat visitor, why'd they grab her like that?
Before he could even open his mouth, Koko interrupted. "Not our problem. We have enough to deal with as is. If she wants to die, let her." With that, Koko walked in the opposite direction.
Inupi hesitated, trying to think of what could be done, but Koko was right. He turned and walked with Koko, but the more he thought about it, the more of a bitter taste left in his mouth.
