Tokyo: Rabbit Officer and Her Evil Partner

Chapter 425: Burning Torch_3

"Lucky us!" Watanabe Shun said, "We can sneak right in from here."

Minamoto Tamako did not respond. She stood up stealthily and continued to survey around the building, as if trying to determine the entire building's layout.

The five of them wandered on the island for more than three hours. Aside from hearing a segment of alarm bells, nothing unexpected happened.

Finally, Minamoto Tamako determined the attack location. She tapped her small finger on a mark on her notebook:

"Here, it should be the supplies warehouse. On an isolated island, it's impossible to be self-sufficient. Supplies must rely on external delivery, so there must be a storage place."

Watanabe Shun leaned over and asked, "So, are we going to steal canned food? But we just had dinner."

"No, we're starting a fire here. Even if it doesn't succeed, it doesn't matter. We just need to alarm the stationed troops," Minamoto Tamako pointed her finger at another marked location, "The real target is here."

The four of them leaned in, looked down, and saw a blank mark on the white paper.

Moriyama Yasurou recalled, "I remember this place seems like... a lounge? From the outside, it should be a dormitory. Why attack here?"

"There should be an equipment room inside," Minamoto Tamako said, "Judging by the layout, this is the soldiers' dormitory. There's no armory on the island, so the weapons should be inside the dormitory."

Watanabe Shun stared at the map on the paper for a while, unable to resist asking, "How can you tell the layout of the island? I can't see anything."

"It's obvious, the soldiers' dormitories are generally in..."

As she spoke, Minamoto Tamako was momentarily stunned. She rubbed her little head, "Huh? Right, why?"

Kazama Tatsuya and Moriyama Yasurou exchanged glances, suddenly feeling that the little one might not be as reliable as they thought.

However, since the plan was already set, they had no objections and proceeded directly with implementation.

Fushimi Roku and Watanabe Shun took the lead as they were the only physically fit young men.

The two moved one after the other, sneaking towards the warehouse under the cover of night. There was only one person on duty in the small pavilion at the entrance, seemingly never expecting an attack, as the guard was mainly to prevent theft.

Fushimi Roku acted first, pouncing like a leopard from the darkness, quickly passing through the illuminated area.

The guard was casually flipping through a magazine and merely saw a blur outside the window before a cold, bright blade pierced through the glass, stabbing into his neck.

Fushimi Roku twisted his wrist, and blood sprayed from the guard's neck, splattering onto the guard post's glass door.

Watanabe Shun then caught up, sneaking around, holding a police gun and waving it around randomly. Only when Fushimi Roku withdrew the blade did he wipe the imaginary sweat: "Clear!"

"Fortunately, with your cover, I wouldn't have dared to go up otherwise," Fushimi Roku said.

"No worries, cooperation is like this," Watanabe Shun said proudly.

Seeing that Watanabe Shun couldn't tell good from bad, Fushimi Roku simply ignored him. He opened the guard post and found a bunch of keys from the guard's pocket to unlock the warehouse door.

Watanabe Shun stood behind him, asking, "Isn't this guard a bit too lax?"

Fushimi Roku shot him a sideways glance, "Would you lock up your own refrigerator? It's tight outside but loose inside. The coast guard posts are much stricter!"

"Really?" Watanabe Shun scratched his head, "I didn't feel it."

Fushimi Roku no longer wanted to talk to him. He opened the warehouse door, revealing piles of wooden crates. The two of them wandered in, found a wooden crate marked gasoline under the moonlight, and pried it open, seizing several barrels of oil.

"Give me a hand."

Fushimi Roku lifted a barrel and slowly poured it out, spilling it everywhere. Watanabe Shun followed behind him, sprinkling the areas where Fushimi Roku had already poured.

"This should do, that's enough."

Fushimi Roku put down the barrel, feeling this matter needed to be swift. If discovered, it wouldn't be good.

He reached into his pockets, realizing he didn't bring a lighter, having quit smoking recently, so he turned to Watanabe Shun to ask, "Lighter."

"What?" Watanabe Shun was stunned for a moment, "You didn't bring one?"

"Didn't bring it, I'm quitting smoking," Fushimi Roku had a bad feeling, "You don't have one either, do you?"

Watanabe Shun checked his pockets, only finding a pile of crumpled bills and a few coins in two cloth pouches hanging by his pants: "Really didn't bring it. I thought Minamoto Tamako's house doesn't allow smoking, so I came after smoking..."

"Then what do you do when you want to smoke after dinner?" Fushimi Roku was appalled.

"I ask the boss for one," Watanabe Shun said.

"..."

Fushimi Roku had to return to the guard post, praying the guard smoked. He was lucky this time and found a lighter along with a pack of Seven Stars.

He pulled out a cigarette, placed it in his mouth, lit it, and took a puff, intending to use it as a fuse.

Getting too close to the gasoline with a lighter was certainly tempting fate.

Watanabe Shun watched, feeling a craving. His smoking urge was strong; he hadn't smoked since dinner, so he quickly asked with a flattering expression, "Give me one, will you?"

"It's the last one," Fushimi Roku turned the empty cigarette pack upside down to show him.

"Then let me have a puff," Watanabe Shun said.

"It's got my saliva," Fushimi Roku said, pushing him away.

"I don't mind, let me have a puff, I don't mind you," Watanabe Shun approached again.

Fushimi Roku had no choice but to give him the cigarette, saying, "You'll be in charge of lighting it then. Make sure to toss the cigarette butt from a distance... and yeah, shield the spark too, it's pretty obvious at night, don't let anyone see it."

"I know, I'm not an idiot," Watanabe Shun said.

Fushimi Roku was a bit uneasy but felt that at least this guy was an elite criminal police officer, unlikely to blow himself up.
