Tokyo: My Superpower Refreshes Every Week

Chapter 298 Today's Loser is the Young Miss_1

The night deepened.

In the pitch-darkness where he could hardly see his own hand before his face, Aozawa was not asleep.

His hand rested on the wall. Using his Catalyst Induction ability, his vision quickly soared, and a series of images flooded his mind.

Most people had turned off their lights and gone to sleep, while a few were still up, playing on their phones or computers.

He was mainly focused on Morimoto Chiyoda's bedroom.

The even breathing and the gently undulating "mountains" proved she was indeed sound asleep.

Good.

Aozawa, using his Element Replacement ability, turned himself into a breeze. Then, invoking Schrodinger's Cat, with a mere thought, he vanished from his bed.

The next second, this breeze—him—appeared outside the brightly lit bedroom.

The predawn wind was cool but not strong, and the dim moonlight made the courtyard look somewhat dark.

Only the area close to the mansion seemed particularly bright.

Rich people are certainly different, not even turning off their lights late at night, Aozawa grumbled internally.

As the breeze brushed against the wall, he intended to see the layout inside.

Using his Catalyst Induction ability again, his vision shot up rapidly, and the scenery within a one-kilometer radius centered on the mansion filled his mind.

In the dead of night, the Phoenix Academy household still had chefs and maids working in shifts, ready to serve the lady and young mistress at any moment.

Dedicated bodyguards led several hunting dogs on patrol, back and forth.

Inside a dim bedroom, soul-stirring moans surged from a wide bed, where the widow was toying with a large plaything.

This almost affected Aozawa's detached mindset. He quickly deactivated his Catalyst Induction ability, still shaken.

Unexpectedly, Kochou, who appeared so dignified and noble, resorted to such activities during the solitary night.

But on reflection, it's said that women are like wolves at thirty and tigers at forty. Kochou, being in her "wolf and tiger" years and lacking a husband to alleviate her loneliness, turning to toys for solace was only human.

With her power, not keeping a host of gigolos already showed a degree of restraint.

Aozawa quickly cast aside those thoughts, focusing his mind on Phoenix Academy Maggie's bedroom.

Just now, through Catalyst Induction, he had learned that small devices, likely alarm systems, were installed in the walls and furniture of the bedroom.

At first glance, the desk seemed unremarkable.

But under the effects of Catalyst Induction, the walls became his eyes, and he could also see through the darkness.

He could see a hidden camera inside a box aimed at the bed, apparently set to record all night long; its placement was quite secretive.

Unfortunately, current human ingenuity was still no match for superpowers.

Aozawa had several methods to circumvent the alarms.

He chose the most atmospheric: Element Replacement. He turned into a breeze, slipping in through a crevice in the window.

The invisible breeze drifted past the infrared beams, triggering no alarms.

On the spacious bed, Phoenix Academy Maggie was covered only by a thin quilt.

Her nightgown resembled a qipao with high slits, beige in color, adorned with delicate golden patterns.

It was a camisole style, too.

Her shoulders and chest were like snow-capped mountains showing only their summits, pristine white, with the majority hidden within the clouds.

Phoenix Academy Maggie's sleeping face was serene, her golden hair spread on the pillow, absent of the sharpness she had when awake, as docile as a doll that could be played with at will.

Maggie, I am coming in, Aozawa thought.

The breeze crept under the quilt where it was slightly raised at one corner and slowly slipped beneath the blanket.

Inside, it wasn't as narrow as it seemed from outside.

Supported by the "mountain" hiding its summit, there was a significant gap between the thin quilt and her abdomen.

Aozawa watched this scene, more aware than ever of Phoenix Academy Maggie's grandeur.

He sighed inwardly. As a breeze, he drew close to Phoenix Academy Maggie's abdomen and activated Marvelous Resurgence. Warmth spread from her belly throughout her body.

"HMM," Phoenix Academy Maggie made an unconscious sound but didn't wake up. Instead, she turned over.

A simple movement, yet it was like the world turning upside down, a dramatic shift.

Experiencing such a perspective for the first time, Aozawa found it quite novel.

Wisps of black mist rose from Phoenix Academy Maggie's abdomen. She had indeed inherited that recessive disease from her father.

Aozawa extracted the disease, breathed a sigh of relief, and quickly disappeared using his Schrodinger's Cat ability.

Back in his bedroom, Aozawa canceled the Element Replacement, covered himself peacefully with his blanket, and went to sleep. He also decided to use up all the stored diseases before the end of the following week.

...

「The next day, early morning.」

Without needing an alarm, Phoenix Academy Maggie woke up on time, thanks to her robust biological clock.

The first thing she did upon opening her eyes was to sit up swiftly.

According to health science, suddenly sitting up upon waking is not good for the body, but those were concerns for the elderly.

She was a young girl in the bloom of youth and couldn't care less about such things.

The quilt slid off her body as she quickly opened the box on the bedside table, took out her phone, stopped the recording, and turned off the infrared alarm device.

She only needed to make an excuse about wanting to experience high-level security, and someone would install them in her bedroom.

That's the benefit of having money.

Phoenix Academy Maggie could effortlessly change anything about her bedroom with just a word.

Her mother indulged her even in these trivial matters.

Phoenix Academy Maggie pondered. Since Dio had not appeared while she was awake last night, he might have appeared when she was asleep.

In her entire bedroom, other than her bed, there was no safe place.

On the bed, her cell phone had been recording in night mode.

If Dio had appeared and she hadn't woken up, she would still find out what happened last night.

While being attended to by her maids, Phoenix Academy Maggie brushed her teeth and washed her face as quickly as possible, all the while watching the video.

By the time she reached the dining room, the hazy feeling from just waking up had already left her face.

Phoenix Academy Maggie glanced around. Her mother was not at the dining table, where only her own breakfast was laid out.

Miwa Kazuki stood by, recounting the events of the previous day.

The death of Nomura Shimba, the death of Stein from the special services, and the deaths of Okamura Togihiko and Durant were causing political turmoil. The Police Director had been impeached by right-wing parliament members for incompetence, and they were demanding his replacement.

A series of events reached Phoenix Academy Maggie's ears. She simply took note, her index finger still sliding non-stop through the video's timeline.

Her other hand casually forked a piece of cake and brought it to her mouth for a bite.

The cake was exceptionally fluffy, with a rich, sweet fragrance.

Phoenix Academy Maggie finished her breakfast but still hadn't seen Dio's figure in the video, only her own peaceful sleeping form.

She really looked quite beautiful while sleeping.

That thought flashed through Phoenix Academy Maggie's mind. Then she picked up a napkin, wiped her mouth, and headed outside.

She traveled by car and then by train. By the time she arrived at school, Phoenix Academy Maggie had finally finished watching the entire footage but found no sign of Dio, nor any abnormal frames.

Aozawa isn't Dio, is he?

The thought crossed Phoenix Academy Maggie's mind. Although she felt relieved, she was also somewhat disappointed. Then she reconsidered: the methods of a Superpower User couldn't be tested in a standard way.

If she remembered correctly, Dio could not only transform into Rock Giants and Frost Giants but also become wind.

The wind is formless; it might be able to bypass infrared sensors.

Moreover, Dio had already been confirmed by the special task force to be able to use two superpowers simultaneously.

Phoenix Academy Maggie pondered briefly. Having a testing method in mind, she exited the video and decided to first discuss with Nomura True Wave and Yoshikawa Sayuri the afternoon trip to Lian Lai Amusement Park.

...

As class time approached, Phoenix Academy Maggie was leaning over her desk, her eyes surreptitiously glancing towards the classroom's back door.

Aozawa and Ayatsuki Ayaka entered through the back door, laughing and talking as usual before parting ways.

Aozawa headed for his seat.

She quickly withdrew her gaze, mentally calculating the distance while letting out a soft sound.

"MMH."

Hearing her, Aozawa's face flickered with surprise as he asked, "Maggie, what's wrong?"

"I don't know why, but suddenly I feel very uncomfortable. My chest feels stuffy."

Phoenix Academy Maggie raised her head, her voice particularly weak, her body leaning against the wall.

At that moment, she was the epitome of Lin Daiyu from the 1986 adaptation.

She looked so delicate it seemed a gust of wind might blow her over.

Aozawa looked at her complexion, then glanced at her chest. The collar of her sailor outfit was buttoned up tight, concealing the "peaks" so thoroughly not even a hint of them could be seen.

"Maybe it's too tight on you. How about I help you loosen it a bit?"

Phoenix Academy Maggie's sickly expression vanished, her eyes quickly sharpening. "Aozawa," she said, "you don't seem the least bit concerned about my health. Could it be that you've seen through my act?"

As usual, she was sprawled across the desk, her arms also spread out, taking over much of Aozawa's personal desk space.

In her opinion, if she showed that kind of ailing expression, the proper reaction would be concern and escorting her to the infirmary.

Not to jest about wanting to loosen the collar of her sailor outfit.

Aozawa was not the type of person to be carefree or heartless.

Unless he was sure that there was nothing wrong with her.

"No, you acted very convincingly. I thought maybe it was because a second growth spurt in your chest caused your clothes to be the wrong size. If they don't fit properly, your chest will feel stuffy. That's common knowledge among girls with large breasts, right?"

Aozawa casually found an excuse, pulled out his chair, and sat down. "Maggie," he said, his face serious, "don't do this again next time. What kind of joke is this, playing with your health so early in the morning!"

It was her own test, yet in a blink, she was being lectured. Phoenix Academy Maggie felt inwardly sullen, blaming herself for being too hasty.

She shouldn't have used that kind of excuse. She should have said she felt dizzy with blurred vision, not giving this crafty guy a chance to argue.

"Did you hear me?"

"Yeah, yeah! You really are arrogant!"

Phoenix Academy Maggie responded indignantly, feeling increasingly that there must be some connection between Aozawa and Dio. His last response seemed like nothing but an excuse.

Darn it! Sooner or later, she would expose Aozawa's identity, then grab him by the ear and find out what other superpowers he had.

Aozawa shrugged. "I'm just concerned about your health."

"Heh, really? Well then, I *truly* appreciate your concern."

Phoenix Academy Maggie rolled her eyes, turned around, gathered her thoughts, and prepared to review her lessons.

Aozawa unscrewed his thermos and took a sip of vegetable juice.

He was aware that Maggie didn't quite believe his words, yet he had no intention of admitting anything. Some things are better left unsaid to leave room for maneuver.
