Tokyo: My Superpower Refreshes Every Week

Chapter 254 Blame Dio First_1

Having learned from his initial mistake, when Aozawa switched again, he didn't burst out directly from the gas stove. Instead, he stayed still, resembling an ordinary flame, scorching the bottom of the pressure cooker with its heat.

The kitchen was immaculately tidy, and a housewife was humming a song while chopping vegetables.

He continued to leap to the other red dots in his mind.

Through constant leaping, Aozawa realized something. Once he leapt into the red dot in his brain, if the flame he had exchanged with previously disappeared, he would not be able to switch back to his original place. He could only keep leaping within the flames or detach himself from the leaping flame.

Aozawa leapt to a kitchen where the chef was out of sight and detached from the gas stove flame, not expanding as large as his physical body.

In the form of a flame, his body could grow larger or smaller without feeling the slightest discomfort. He even suspected that he could now let knives and bullets pass through his body without feeling any pain, much like the elementalization in Pirate King. Except, in this world, there was no Haki to suppress him.

Aozawa landed on the table and quickly transformed the Fire Element into the Wind Element. The flames on his body disappeared, replaced by wind.

Wind has no shape. So Aozawa's body was essentially invisible. Others couldn't see him, and he couldn't even see his own body when he looked down. He could only sense the motion of lowering his head and raising his hands and feet, as his torso seemed non-existent.

Aozawa found this experience very interesting. He leapt up lightly, not falling back to the ground but floating directly in the air.

He flew toward the window.

The wind couldn't penetrate the glass, but if the window was even slightly ajar, the wind could drill through it.

After flying outside, Aozawa chose not to go down but continued upward, constantly drawing the strength of the wind from all around.

When he rose to a high altitude, he felt his body had grown very large. A simple movement could produce a thunderous sound of wind. He could also control the direction of the wind, swirling like a tornado or spiraling forward like an activated drill.

The floating white clouds were instantly torn into spirals, and in a moment, Aozawa shaped them into a heart, then a circle.

These were experiences Schrödinger's Cat could not provide. Entering that state, Aozawa could appear high in the sky but could not affect the outside world. Now, he was molding clouds with his hands.

Aozawa guessed that his size had expanded to several hundred meters, allowing his hands to pinch the clouds into various shapes at will. The invisible hands were also given form by the white clouds.

Seeing this, Aozawa had a thought; he stopped shaping the clouds and began to envelop and drive them in a certain direction.

If anyone looked up at the sky at this moment, they would see the white clouds gathering swiftly, like rolling up a snowball.

He piled up the white clouds in the Tokyo sky, revealing the vividly blue sky beneath.

The clouds churned, and such a terrifying spectacle naturally drew the attention of some people.

"What's that?"

In the Special Investigation Office at the Shinjuku Central Building, Jack held a square whiskey glass with ice in it. Finding an excuse to reward himself with a drink during working hours had become part of Jack's daily life, as long as it didn't affect his work.

He looked at the view outside the floor-to-ceiling window, his face showing amazement.

The clouds in the sky were like soldiers heeding a king's command, rushing to the battlefield in unison. It was also like a major avalanche occurring on Mount Everest.

Jack watched this phenomenon in a daze, internally marveling at the wonders of nature, when he suddenly realized something was amiss. This odd vista could not be explained by nature's wonders; it resembled something man-made. Could it be related to Dio?

Jack immediately stood up, putting down his whiskey glass. He wasn't a clever man, nor did he overthink things, typically assuming all superpower incidents were related to Dio unless there was evidence to suggest otherwise.

He picked up the phone and dialed Emily on the task force. "Hey, Emily," he shouted, "look at the sky over Tokyo! The shape of the clouds is strange. Could it be Dio? Send someone to check it out. Dio might be hiding where the clouds are gathering."

"Okay!"

Emily agreed at once, hung up the phone, and quickly stuck her head out of her apartment window, looking up. She couldn't see a single cloud from there. The sky was as blue as an expensive gem. But Emily understood that her view of the entire sky was blocked by the buildings on either side. Jack, situated high in the Shinjuku Central Building, would obviously not be affected by such limitations.

Emily hung up the phone, then shouted, "Iwaki, deploy a drone immediately to get a view of Tokyo's skyline and locate where the clouds are heading!"

"Okay." Iwaki Kususuke agreed.

Emily quickly picked up the communicator again and yelled, "Okayama, Morimoto, act now! Follow the direction of the moving clouds in the sky, and see if you can lock onto Dio's whereabouts."

It was Monday, and to Emily, this day seemed like the most likely time for Dio to act. She had prioritized the task force's main focus on dealing with Dio's appearance, arranging for Okayama Buji and Morimoto Chiyoda to be on standby in a military helicopter, ready to act at any moment.

"Okay." Okayama Buji responded, then called out to the pilot, "Take off immediately! Follow the direction of the clouds!"

Sitting in the cabin, Morimoto Chiyoda asked with some confusion, "What's happened?"

Okayama Buji shook his head and said, "I'm not sure either, but Emily mentioned that chasing the clouds might lead us to Dio's whereabouts."

Morimoto Chiyoda's eyes flashed with confusion as she looked out of the glass window.

The helicopter ascended amidst the roaring sound of its spinning rotors. Buildings that used to block the view shrank away as they rose tens of meters high, and Morimoto Chiyoda could see the abnormality in the clouds to the west.

The abnormally thick clouds gathered and rolled in the air, sometimes forming spirals, sometimes resembling swirling eddies.

The first thought in Morimoto Chiyoda's mind was that Dio was ascending to Paradise.

Throughout the history of various countries, unusual celestial phenomena have represented either auspicious omens or disasters.

Morimoto Chiyoda's expression became exceptionally serious.

Okayama Buji also realized the severity of the situation and frowned deeply. "Could this scene mean that Dio is ascending to Paradise?"

"Let's hope not."

Morimoto Chiyoda suppressed a hint of panic in her heart. No one knew what Dio's so-called eternal happiness would bring to the world. The definition of happiness itself varies from person to person. Some people feel happy by helping others, while others find their joy in oppressing and exploiting those around them. There is also a dark kind of happiness that comes from watching others fare worse or be poorer than oneself, and then a sense of pleasure and satisfaction arises within. Dio's eternal happiness is only for Dio. For the rest of the world, it might not be eternal happiness at all, but rather an eternal Hell.

Morimoto Chiyoda took out her gun, knowing that it might be ineffective, but still needed the firearm to reassure herself.

The military helicopter chased after the clouds.

Aozawa excitedly piled up white clouds, but soon realized he was making too much of a commotion, attracting the attention of some people. Several helicopters hovered in the distance.

By now, Aozawa's form had grown to several kilometers, the thick, gathered clouds forming his body. Various chaotic spiral patterns appeared in the air, rotating and engulfing. After all, he did not have a fixed body at that moment. For example, his index finger could turn into a twisted shape, while the adjacent middle finger could become a twist in the opposite direction. Wind is formless. Therefore, he could change into any shape and continuously absorb surrounding winds as part of his body.

However, this absorption still had limits, and Aozawa felt he was reaching them. He could not continue to grow any larger. If he continued to draw wind into his body, the winds on the periphery would exceed his control range. Of course, he would be fine, but people and buildings on the ground would suffer. The most terrifying cyclone in human history was about to descend.

Considering that, Aozawa did not continue to expand, nor did he keep piling up white clouds.

With a thought, he changed the direction of the wind, dispersing the white clouds that had gathered.

BOOM!

The terrifying sound of wind exploded.

In an instant, white clouds slammed against the helicopters like huge waves. The helicopters swayed in the fierce wind, and everything outside turned into a white blur. Morimoto Chiyoda immediately shouted, "What's happening?"

The panicked pilot exclaimed, "I'm not—not sure?!"

The terrible force of the wind pushed the helicopter backward.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

An ear-piercing alarm echoed in the cabin. Morimoto Chiyoda bit her lip; fright flashed through her heart, but she quickly suppressed it. If all else failed, I still have the option to jump and try to survive. Don't panic.

Morimoto Chiyoda pursed her lips, observing the situation outside the window.

The white expanse gradually thinned, and the clouds continued to rise, steadying the shaking helicopter.

Morimoto Chiyoda looked ahead. The dense white clouds that had gathered there disappeared without a trace, leaving the center exceptionally blue. White clouds drifted around, and everything returned to normal.

Morimoto Chiyoda's heart finally settled. Facing something beyond her own abilities, even she could not guarantee that she would remain calm at all times. As long as a person wants to continue living, they will feel fear toward death. This is something no one can avoid.

Morimoto Chiyoda exhaled, her expression tinged with confusion. "Did the clouds dispersing mean that Dio failed to ascend to Paradise?"

"That seems to be the case." Okayama Buji's face was solemn. Thinking of the rapidly gathering clouds and their explosion-like dispersal, a sense of relief surged within him.

He heard Emily's urgent voice again through the communicator.

"Quick! Check the center of the cloud explosion! We might find Dio immobilized for some reason! Or some kind of ritualistic pattern!"

The voice was urgent. Okayama Buji had never heard Emily sound so anxious, but he understood. If Dio's ascent to Paradise had failed, there might be clues left at the scene.

"Received." Okayama Buji shouted, "Quick, head to the center of the cloud explosion!"
