Tokyo: My Superpower Refreshes Every Week

Chapter 229: Myths are Made Up_1

A gust of wind suddenly arose.

The Lion Bull Monster's membranous wings flapped vigorously, lifting its enormous body into the air.

Morimoto Chiyoda reacted quickly. Drawing her gun, she aimed at the Lion Bull Monster's right membranous wing, her slender index finger pulling the trigger.

BANG!

The bullet tore a large hole in the Lion Bull Monster's membranous wing, spattering blood.

The unbalanced Lion Bull Monster crashed to the ground. Seeing this, Morimoto Chiyoda breathed a sigh of relief.

It seemed guns were effective against the Lion Bull Monster.

The next second, a shocking scene unfolded. The Lion Bull Monster staggered back to its feet, its torn membranous wing regenerating at an astonishing rate.

"ROAR!"

It let out an even angrier roar, every muscle on its lion-like face tensing.

With a powerful push of its legs, Morimoto Chiyoda saw the solid mountain ground beneath the Lion Bull Monster crack noticeably.

"Fire!" she immediately shouted.

There were twenty members in SAT Squad One.

The moment she shouted, they all raised their submachine guns and pulled the triggers.

RAT-TAT-TAT!

Fresh blood burst from the Lion Bull Monster's chest. Yet, compared to its massive body, nearly five meters tall, the wounds inflicted by the submachine guns seemed insignificant.

"ROAR!"

The Lion Bull Monster was enraged. It thrust its chest forward, and the bullets that struck it were repelled. The bleeding wounds rapidly healed.

"ROAR!"

As it roared proudly, Morimoto Chiyoda aimed at its right eye and pulled the trigger.

BANG! Not even its closed eyelid could stop the bullet. The right eye exploded, the violent impact allowing a glimpse of the skull within.

Such a severe injury would have killed any human, but the Lion Bull Monster showed no sign of dying.

Morimoto Chiyoda didn't dare hesitate. She quickly fired another shot at the same spot.

This attack caused the Lion Bull Monster's right horn to tilt, forcing it to stumble back a step.

Bullets rained down on the Lion Bull Monster's body like a torrential storm.

"ROAR!"

The Lion Bull Monster flapped the membranous wings on its back, trying to lift off from the ground.

Katerina seized the opportunity, pulled the pin, and tossed a high-explosive grenade forward.

BOOM!

The grenade exploded with incredible force, sending hundreds of shrapnel pieces like sharp blades into the Lion Bull Monster's membranous wings and body.

Its huge body wobbled but still didn't fall.

BANG!

Morimoto Chiyoda pulled the trigger again, destroying its left eye.

Both eyes now blind, the Lion Bull Monster let out an enraged roar just as another bullet struck its upper jaw and penetrated its cerebellum.

The Lion Bull Monster stumbled back two steps but still didn't fall.

Morimoto Chiyoda saw its body was still attempting to regenerate.

"Keep going! Don't stop!" Emily shouted. "Monsters can't be immortal!"

"I'll throw a grenade inside its body!" Katerina declared, then lunged forward like a sprinting cheetah, rapidly closing the distance.

"Cover Katerina!" Morimoto Chiyoda called out.

The SAT members instinctively aimed higher, targeting the creature's upper body.

Morimoto Chiyoda also fired again. The bullet entered through its mouth, piercing the cerebellum behind the upper jaw.

She couldn't imagine what kind of biological structure allowed a being to remain standing even with its cerebellum destroyed.

Could it be that in this world, the cerebellum isn't a vital organ?

As doubt flashed through her mind, she lowered her weapon and shot the Lion Bull Monster's groin.

Blood gushed out.

"ROAR!" The Lion Bull Monster howled in agony.

Katerina had closed in on the Lion Bull Monster. She felt the intense, oppressive force emanating from its massive body, like a human facing a soaring fighter jet.

She took a deep breath and leaped up suddenly. Stepping on the Lion Bull Monster's thigh, she used it to spring higher, pulled the pin, and threw the high-explosive grenade straight down its wide-open mouth.

Kicking off the Lion Bull Monster's flank, she flipped backward.

With a massive explosion, the grenade detonated inside the Lion Bull Monster, sending shards of shrapnel bursting outward from within.

Katerina could see where shrapnel pieces bulged against the flesh beneath its black fur.

Even such a horrifying injury didn't bring down the Lion Bull Monster. "ROAR!"

Amidst its angry roars, the wounds healed at a visible speed.

Is this creature immortal?

Katerina pursed her lips. Ammunition would eventually run out, but the Lion Bull Monster's regenerative ability must also have a limit.

The question was, could their ammunition push the Lion Bull Monster's regeneration to that limit?

If not, they would be helpless, like a Ghost hanging on a tree branch, lambs to the slaughter.

Morimoto Chiyoda realized this problem too, but the special task force couldn't stop attacking now.

The submachine gun magazines were quickly emptied. SAT members swiftly reloaded with spare magazines.

Morimoto Chiyoda blasted the Lion Bull Monster's upper jaw again, preventing the cerebellum's regeneration.

As long as its cerebellum isn't fully regenerated, it can't coordinate its body's movements. It can only stand there passively, enduring their attack.

If they allowed the Lion Bull Monster to recover, they would be in grave danger.

They had to keep it in this brainless state.

With fresh magazines loaded, the submachine guns unleashed another barrage.

Bullets poured down like a torrential rain, each hit on the colossal body splashing blood.

Its black fur was now dyed crimson.

The Lion Bull Monster's massive body stood firm on the mountainside, showing no sign of falling.

"How is this monster not dead yet?!" a SAT member couldn't help but shout in frustration.

Being suddenly thrust into this hellish place and facing a monster immune to submachine guns and grenades was putting immense pressure on his mind.

"Hold on! If we keep attacking, we'll surely reach the limit of its regenerative ability!" Emily encouraged them from the side.

Ten minutes later, they were nearly out of bullets.

This grim reality cast a heavy shadow over everyone present.

Morimoto Chiyoda felt her right arm trembling; the recoil from the M500 was immense.

She had been firing continuously, and even her arm could no longer withstand the powerful kickback.

"How many grenades are left?" Morimoto Chiyoda asked, her voice strained.

A nearby SAT member responded, "We've used them all up!"

Hearing this, Katerina's expression darkened. All their grenades had been detonated inside the Lion Bull Monster's body.

Yet, despite that, the colossal, perforated body still didn't fall.

She knew the Lion Bull Monster was nearing the limit of its regenerative ability; the evidence was its current selective regeneration. Unlike before, when every wound healed, now it only regenerated vital areas, ignoring lesser injuries.

But their ammunition was also critically low. If they continued, it was likely their bullets would run out before the Lion Bull Monster reached its regenerative limit. The worst-case scenario had come to pass.

Emily's mind raced, but she couldn't find a solution.

Intelligence alone couldn't solve their current predicament.

They had attacked every conceivable vital spot, again and again, but to no avail.

The Lion Bull Monster's vitality was terrifyingly robust.

Am I going to die here?

The thought flashed through Emily's mind as her gaze swept across the desolate land, which offered no place to hide.

Wait, what's that?

Emily suddenly noticed a group of people that had appeared on the terrain to their right. Judging by their attire, they were clearly neither prisoners nor reinforcements from the outside world.

The group used horses for transport, and their attire resembled that of medieval Europe. A flag fluttered among them.

It depicted a blue Shield with a white sword at its center, wings extending sideways from the sword's hilt.

Beneath the flag rode an exceptionally handsome man.

His long, silver hair billowed. His eyes were as blue as the sky. His armor was silver-white, and a snow-white cape streamed in the wind.

For some reason, upon seeing this man, Emily felt an inexplicable sense of security surge within her.

Even she found it absurd, but it was true.

She actually trusted a man she had just met.

That handsome man was like a ray of light, pure and flawless, capable of dispelling the gloom in people's hearts.

What astonished Emily even more was that the white horse he rode moved with the speed of a bullet train.

In just a few blinks, the rider had drawn near.

"Cease fire!" Emily shouted.

Trusting her, Morimoto Chiyoda and the others stopped shooting. At that exact moment, the white horse leaped over their heads.

"What?!" Morimoto Chiyoda exclaimed, her composure cracking. Is that a horse or a helicopter?

The horse traced a graceful arc through the air, landing deftly on the mountainside dozens of meters away.

The man on horseback cleaved the crippled Lion Bull Monster in two with a single sword stroke.

Its massive body split, but no blood or flesh spilled out. Instead, both halves rapidly blackened, crumbled before their eyes, and dispersed into the air.

CLIP-CLOP. The horse's hooves landed on the ground.

The man who had slain the Lion Bull Monster turned his steed, guiding the white horse back down the slope as he sheathed his slender sword.

The wind brushed past the man's handsome face—noble, beautiful, possessing an ethereal grace.

A flicker of awe passed through Morimoto Chiyoda's eyes. She had never before seen a man more beautiful than any woman.

"Who is he?" one of the SAT members whispered.

Emily addressed the others, "He must be a native. Stay here, and don't show any aggression. I'll go forward and see if I can communicate."

She took a deep breath and cautiously approached. Among them, she knew the most languages and was the most likely to be able to converse with the stranger.

The white horse stopped in front of Emily. The handsome man, still mounted, gazed at her and sighed deeply. "The time has finally come."

Emily breathed a sigh of relief. If she hadn't misheard, he was speaking Danish.

"Sir," Emily began, "you don't seem surprised by our arrival. I am Maria Sergeyevich Emily, from Tokyo's Black Hive Prison. May I ask your name?"

"Griffith," Aozawa said, controlling his character.

Outside the window, the sky was murky. Aozawa had already decided how to bamboozle Emily.
