Tokyo landlord: why is the panties of the lady next door in my house?!

Chapter 59: Chapter 56 Misaki Saki's Drafts

"Meow!"

Roast Meat let out a dissatisfied meow, annoyed that his own "charm" had been sold for such a long time. Was this little dried fish really going to be denied to him?

Normally, he would start with at least three sticks in one bite, and now you're being so stingy with just one.

I'm not serving you anymore.

After a few more disgruntled meows and realizing that the girl still wasn't letting go, he gave a reluctant lick before leaving with dignity.

Hearing the fuss, Misaki Saki snapped back to reality.

Seeing the plump cat about to leave, she promptly stuffed the dried fish into Roast Meat's mouth.

Presented with the unexpected treat, the chubby cat shamefully forgot the pride he had just displayed.

He snatched the dried fish in a single bite and scurried away, fearful that the young girl might snatch it back again.

Misaki Saki also stood up and quickly ran to the bathroom to wash her hands, then came back and plopped down on the other side of Haruka.

Glancing up at the girl beside him, Haruka Yuzan didn't bother to engage her but continued to play with his phone.

"Haruka, I want you to look at my draft."

At that, Haruka Yuzan also perked up,

"This time I'll look at it for you, but if there's no progress, I'm going to have to punish you."

After saying that, he put his phone back in his pocket and headed upstairs, worried about the progress of what he referred to as his "portable little gold mine."

"Hmph!"

Misaki Saki let out a discontented snort and then hopped off the sofa to follow the boy upstairs.

"Today I'm definitely going to surprise you."

The voice faded away, and Chiba Shimizu continued to sit there, quietly flipping through the magazine in her hands.

....

"Hey, Haruka, what's the deal between you and Shimizu?" Misaki Saki teased, winking at the boy.

Using the tone of an elder while sporting such a youthful face, it was truly jarring.

Haruka Yuzan chuckled, "Honestly, there's really nothing going on between us."

It couldn't be helped, Misaki Saki was indeed older than both of them.

"Really? Just a coincidence that you rented to her?"

Misaki Saki was skeptical. She had said the same thing when she talked about her relationship with Sister Reiko.

"I'm not lying to you this time," Haruka Yuzan said, standing upright and without guilt, as there really was nothing between him and Class President Chiba,

"Besides, was it as much of a coincidence as when you rented your place?"

"That sort of makes sense. So those TV dramas are all based on reality, huh?" Misaki Saki thought about her own situation and realized it might not be all that far-fetched.

.....

When they reached Misaki Saki's bedroom,

Haruka Yuzan had no qualms about sitting at the desk and scrutinizing the drafts intensely.

Misaki Saki's story this time was quite interesting,

about a frail, skinny otaku with an introverted personality being "bullied" by three girls from school.

The late-blooming and somewhat passive male protagonist finds his solitary home turned into a rest stop for the school's spice girls, who not only hang out but also manipulate him.

Misaki Saki had only sketched out the rough draft and character designs.

The black and white lines hadn't been colored yet,

featuring characters with twin tails, shoulder-length hair, and even one with long pink hair. All elements were well accounted for, and after a while, Haruka Yuzan was impressed, repeatedly expressing his admiration,

he hadn't expected to find such a rare gem!

This piqued the interest of him, a seasoned otaku whose fandom spanned over a decade across two lifetimes, making him eager to keep reading.

A brilliant design.

"This is really well done,"

While looking at the draft in his hands, Haruka Yuzan couldn't help praising, "Where did you get the inspiration from?"

"Hehe, it came from a novel I read recently that had a blonde delinquent spice girl and an otaku," Misaki Saki stood beside the desk, raising her little head proudly and said, "But actually, it's a story I thought of last year."

After saying so, she pulled another draft from the pile, tidied it up a bit, and handed it to the boy,

"I took it out last night to refine it a bit. This is the result of my work over the past few days."

A story she thought of last year?

The young lady indeed had a natural talent for this field.

Haruka Yuzan took the additional drafts from the girl's hands,

and began to read seriously. Unbeknownst to him, he was about to be even more startled,

the story was simple yet vivid,

beginning with the male lead inheriting an apartment building, followed by his journey of renting it out,

with only two tenants currently, a beautiful mother who came to Tokyo with her daughter to work,

and another character designed as an irresistibly cute young girl.

The artwork was still very good, even evoking a strong sense of immersion in Haruka Yuzan.

And he also knew that tonight, a third tenant would arrive.

Substitute an apartment building for a villa, and wasn't that exactly his situation?

"What were you thinking?"

"How about it! This is something I spent a lot of time on!" Misaki Saki stuck out her tongue playfully, "I think it's great, and I plan to work on two comics at once, rushing them both out!"

"Suit yourself," Haruka Yuzan gave up resisting and responded somewhat helplessly.

"So, about the inspiration for today?"

He looked up to see the girl only wearing a little tank top and black shorts, her slender legs pressed together, looking very coy and pleading.

A faint blush graced her adorable face, her golden curly hair tied up into two cute ponytails, artistically trailing at her waist.

Her skin was fair, and her build was petite.

"I can give you inspiration, but tonight you can't use a carbon pen to mark it up,"

Haruka Yuzan retorted.

"Ah? Can I just draw it a few more times, then it will be more realistic, and besides, you'll get a share of the model fee when I make money!"

"Hey, it's hard to wash off, I have to scrub it loads of times when I shower, plus, that spot is really delicate, you can't scrub it hard."

There was one more thing Haruka Yuzan didn't say out loud: every time, there's this feeling of shame from being marked with the character "正" (correct).

"Just a few more times, I promise. I'll use a pencil today!"

"...."
