Toji Fushiguro: Living In DC

Chapter 3: Bounded Fields Rock

(I decided to change the spelling of Victor's name to Viktor, also this story will be my first non villian story. Viktor won't be evil, but he won't be too merciful at least. Most likley, Zatana as a pairing since I like her.)

Once the Cursed and Holy Flames covered him, he didn't feel any pain at all and instead felt that the flames enhanced his abillities. From what he could tell his reserves of mana were innately rather large as a result of two Longinus.

He could even feel mana flowing through the atmosphere so he focused on the flames enveloping him and extinguished them by focusing. When the flames went out, he glanced over at Yami who was watching the whole thing.

"Not bad for a first try, right?"

Yami nodded as he ran around Viktor happy that his partner had managed to gain control of his magic. Of course, just knowing how to use that was just the start as he didn't know any true magic spells. He didn't know where to start, but he had a good idea.

He bent down to pick up Yami before he asked a question.

"Hey, do you have any memories of your previous wielders?"

Yami nodded, his tongue sticking out as he did. Seeing that made Viktor quite happy as it meant he could use the memories of Yami as a starting point to get a feel for some real magic. If he could unlock the secret of Bounded Fields from DxD he isolate his training from prying eyes.

With that, he could practice other forms of magic from Yami's memories like teleportation. Then again, there was a chance the magics from Yami's memories wouldn't work in DC, but he didn't think that was the case.

"Well then, let's work hard shall we?"

With a confirming bark, Yami and Viktor isolated themselves to focus on their training. Of course, the first type of magic that Viktor began to practice was the most crucial of all, the method of making Bounded Fields.

In DxD and Fate, Bounded Fields were ways to isolate a location or space from the outside world through magic. In DxD, they were one of the most common ways to keep the Supernatural hidden from the non-magical.

According to Yami, the process of creating a bounded field wasn't overly complicated. The creation of Bounded Fields was taught to most Supernatural entities and the process didn't even require spatial magic otherwise they would be ludicrously hard to cast.

The method involved a magic circle, knowledge of magic runes for the magic circle, and having enough mana to create the Bounded Field. The Circle would use the mana fed to it to fold and isolate a certain area of space that would keep away those without magic.

To speed up the process, Yami directly implanted the information on Bounded Fields into Viktor's brain. This was rather uncomfortable for Viktor, but through that, he learned the required magic circle and magic runes to create the circle.

As such, before he continued his training he began to practice to craft the magic circle for the Bounded Field. Thanks to Yami's memories of his previous hosts making them, it didn't take him too long.

Only around an hour before he felt confident in his ability to craft the circle. Yami watched on as Viktor held his hands over the ground. Slowly, the magic circle began to form under his feet.

He focused on the lines and the magic runes until the entire thing was glowing on the ground.

"Any mistakes?"

Yami walked around the circle a few times before he shook his head as Viktor got it right. Since the circle was up and running, he began to feed the circle a vast amount of mana which caused his reserves to begin to fall.

He focused on the circle and just as he desired the magic circle activated correctly. In a burst of magic, a Bounded Field formed around the house he was inside and several hundred feet beyond it.

Once the Bounded Field went up, Viktor glanced out the window at the shimmering purple sky.

"Success, we can begin our true training now. How long will the field stay up though?"

From their bond, Yami said that the field would stay up as long as it had mana. Meaning if it was running low, he could always feed it more to keep up longer. Someone more experienced could open and close a Bounded Field with ease, but he was a beginner after all.

Now that the Field was up, as long as no one magical walked by he was in the clear. Once he and Yami walked outside, Viktor began his true training. He had two Longinus that needed to be mastered so he needed to do a lot of training.

That was for the best as the two Longinus would be able to work off each other by allowing him to break his mortal limits. For this training session, he chooses to start working on Canis Lykaons abillities.

As a Sacred Gear, Lykaon was beyond powerful as a result of its two halves. The first was the Divine blade Ama-No-Ohabari which was used by Izanagi the creator god of Japan to kill Hinokagutsuchi his own son the god of fire.

The other was Lycaon The King Of Arcadia who was foolish enough to try to feed his own son to Zeus. The Greek God King later cursed him into the first Werewolf before he was captured by God and fused with Ama-No-Ohabari to create Canis Lykaon.

This caused the Sacred Gear to turn into a dog rather than a wolf and the divine blade was turned into a cursed sword. As a result, Lykaon was blessed with multiple abillities, the power to create bladed weapons from any shadow that could cut through anything.

Souls, magic, barriers, ghosts, gods, it didn't matter. Once mastered, thanks to Ama-No-Ohabari in it's creation, Lykaon could cut it. Then the abillity to control cursed fire, and shadows and that wasn't taking into account the Balance Breaker.

As such, Viktor focused on his connection with Yami to start practicing. First he began to channel his body before he spread his arms out. His shadow under his feet began to grow larger and under his complete control.

The shadows began to flow over him before he began to direct them with his mind. He pointed his hand down and from the shadows burst out a long black longsword. He had never held a sword before, but when it entered his hand he seemed to have a instictive feel for them.

'Must be the Heavenly Restriction.'

With a blade in hand, he focused on the blade causing black and purple cursed and holy fire to climb up the blade. The shadows wrapped around his arms, and back as he ran forward.

Thanks to the enhancement of the shadows and the mana in his body he was blindingly fast. He swung his sword virtically launching a slash of both fire types meaning a mix of holy and cursed flames.

He increased his grip on the handle before he swung the blade almost 20 times in a second each time launching a slash of fire. He spun around before throwing a roundhouse kick.

To extend his range, the slashed out from his leg. Thanks to his Heavenly Restriction, his abillity to control his own body was incredible. With a smile he did a back flip something he could do, but it was so much easier.

When he got back to his feet he looked at the sword in his hand before extignuishing the fire he enhanced it with. He dropped it causing the blade to disipate into the shadows which returned to normal.

"Hold up."

He had an idea as he focused on himself and his theory was correct as he fell into his own shadow. When he did so, he could swear he could feel the darkness around him. A dark shadow began to swim around which was him inside the darkness.

When he wanted to leave he just focused and he was spat out of the dark which would be very powerful in the future. His first try at some of Canis Lykaon's abillities was a success, but it was just the begining.

---

He continued to practice on his weapon control as that was one of the biggest aspects of the Sacred Gear. The Cursed Fire and the shadows were only complimentery to the god killing blades.

As for Incenerate Anthem, the Holy Cross entire power was to create massive amounts of Holy Fire that could kill dark aligned beings with ease. Not just that the flames could be warped into constructs which he wanted to practice with.

As it turned out, he could turn the flames themselves into weapons and not just coat his blades in them. Mastering his two Sacred Gears to the point of fusing them would take time, but it would be time well spent.

When he was done training, he brought down the Bounded Field feeling a bit more confident in keeping himself safe. Currently, he was sitting inside the empty living room with a smile on his face.

It was his firtst session, but already he was feeling a fire burn in his chest. He wanted to get back to training, but it wasn't time. He stood up before looking at Yami.

"Come, let's go get some food. We also need to steal some essentials. A bed, fridge and couch. I can figure out the rest."

With a happy face, Yami followed him as he left the house. He first went to the nearest grocery store where he spent over 200 dollars in groceries. He then dropped those into his shadow in secret.

After that he used his new found shadow powers to secretly steal a few things. First and foremost, a king sized bed, a couch, fridge, tv and then he spent another 120 dollars to buy some clothes.

Once he had his ill gotten goods, he retuned to the house he was squatting in. There he set up the bed, couch, fridge, and tv. While he was out, he also found out what the date was. it was April 18th, 2015.

He would need to do a bit more reaserch and aquire a phone which meant he needed money. Fighting crime in Central City wasn't going to be easy with Flash running around, but their had to be other ways to get money.

He sat hiself down on the bed after he placed on the sheets he bought along side his clothes.

"You know, just because Flash is here, doesn't mean their isn't crime. I can take the money off criminals to pay for my other requirements."

Yami curled up on the bed so Viktor decided to try his luck out at night. Of course, not any time soon as it was better for him to continue his training. After eating a meal, Viktor continued his training with a new Bounded Field.

He also wanted to learn more about the previous wielders off Yami who some happened to be proper mages. He wanted to learn their knoldge which would help him become a mage of some kind.

Magic would make his life so much more convinient after all so that is what he did. As such, for the next month, he kept to himself and in secret. As he continued his training in his Sacred Gears, his mana reserve continued to grow.

His body became stronger and his control over the powers of his Sacred Gears increased. Even his mastery of blades began to grow which included longswords, spears, axes, and other weapons he could create from Canis Lyakon.

As for Lyakon himself, the God Killing Dog began to grow larger as his connection to Viktor grew. Viktor, also learned a few more spells from Yami including teleportation which was a crucial spell for any self respecting mage.

Of course, it had a problem as he could only teleport to places he knew the location too. One being the house he was squating in and several places in Central City. While he was still not ready to make himself known, he at the minimum decided it was safe to venture out into Central City at night.

It was time for a new vigilante to move about.
