TM: Vengeance of the Indomitable and Crazed Shades

Chapter 28: A Meeting and 'Giant Peaks'

A few days ago.

"Hmh... I still think I need to do something while in the shadows." Temorsth was outside the house, his legs were crossed while he sat in the shadow of a tree.

*sigh* "I don't have a clue." He placed his hand below his chin to support his head.

After a few minutes of aimless thinking.

"Anyway, before Dad ran away he said he took 20,000 steps a day, while he was learning his Unique Ability." Since Temorsth didn't find any better option, he stood up and started doing what his father did.

'One...two... I'm missing my smart watch...'

...

"And with this... it should be 40,000... If I do double as much as Dad did, I will get there faster or at least I think." Temorsth stood upright. Not to say tired he didn't even have any sweat on his body.

"There is only one problem... this almost took me six hours, it's already past noon."

"How will I do this every day? I have to somehow train my spear too, if I neglect it, it might regress or something..." With a slight worry showing in the form of a frown, he placed his hand on his chin.

"Oh!" As an idea came up to his mind his face brightened.

"I should combine the two. Since my upper body doesn't move that much when I take a step, I can use my spear in the meantime. Good. With this, I won't waste away my time."

'Now he is talking to himself. He really is crazy...' Not that far from Temorsth, Antanasia was leaning against a tree.

'But on the other hand... normal people aren't surviving for a long time in this world of the strong devours the weak.' As she gazed up at the sky, she looked as if she didn't pay attention to him, but in truth all this while she was focusing her senses on him.

Antanasia was trying to learn as much of her new master as possible... and in truth she was interested. What will the child of the Elf Queen and Vampire King achieve?

...

Exactly five days later.

"Why!?" Temorsth was shouting on his training ground. In that five days, he continued to take that 40,000 steps. Every single day, without a day of rest yet now...

"Agh... I don't feel it. No, not to feel I don't even know what to do!" He was enraged he didn't get any closer, he was not mad because it didn't succeed he was mad because nothing showed. Since nothing happened he almost felt betrayed, like it was telling him he didn't do anything.

"How the hell do you take a step that slashes the shadows!? AGH...!" Temorsth ruffled his medium-length raven-black hair.

'Hmh? Is he giving up?' Seeing Temorsth sit down into a cross-legged lotus position, Antanasia became curious. What will Temorsth do?

'Ugh... Can any of you help?'

'Persona, you too know it isn't possible.' Tiana's soft voice tried to calm Persona down.

'But... My job is not to learn! I'm just here so we look as normal as possible!' For a second Tiana almost succeeded but then, the anger surfaced again.

'...' Tiana jolted back with a sad face, she wasn't the one who liked to argue.

'Can't we lift the limitations? Just for now...' And seeing it Persona lowered his tone.

None of the personalities would hurt the other, and to specify it, there was no personality that disliked Tiana after all, the thing she represented was...

'Alright, this is enough. Come down Persona. Let's talk this through in a Meeting.' Since the conversation went to a topic that couldn't be decided that easily, The Orginal appeared and called Persona down into their subconscious mental world.

'Alright.' With the word, outside, Temorsth's head fell forward, it looked like he fell asleep while sitting.

...

Inside the mental world, stars shined in the distance and different colored clouds traversed the infinite universe.

All this infinite universe looked like a background to the flat transparent floor that five people stood on.

"Hmh..." A king-like chair or rather a throne appeared behind The Original and with a hum, he sat down.

Following him, the other four positioned themself to form a large circle, and when they stopped at their spots, different kinds of chairs or sofas appeared behind the other four, each of them sat down on their own chair that represented their ideas and the things they love.

"Persona, if we release the limiter for even a second the body would faint after such a long time of inactivity."

"Ugh... it is true, but I alone cant learn this... if..."

"I..." Since Persona paused for a moment Order tried to say something but he stopped after hearing that Persona started to continue.

"Hm? Speak freely, Order." Noticing it, Persona stopped again and let him speak.

"..."

"Don't feel pressured, every one of us is allowed to speak."

"I advise the same as Persona..." Order's voice still had that visible hurt feel to it.

"Hmh... But won't it be a problem? You know what happened before we limited it."

"No, I think it shouldn't happen. In our old body, we had severe blood pressure and migraine problems because the brain couldn't handle the many thoughts and ideas of all of us at once..."

"Ugh..." Remembering the pain they had to endure at that time, they shivered.

"And the most problematic was that it had to create different memories for each of us since we all look at things differently."

"Yes, but why would it be any different now?"

"In this world, where magic is more prominent, and our mental and physical strength and capacity grew... I think the body should be able to handle it... Not all of us at once, but..."

"Five." A solemn voice, similar to the one The Original had just more resonant, called out from the darkness surrounding Temorsth's mental world.

"Uh... y-yes." Hesitantly Order confirmed the word.

"Hmh... You strangely talk more often." The Original turned his head to the side, and as he spoke, he looked at the darkness behind him.

"..."

"Did something happen that changed your state?"

"This world... I like it."

"Oh?" The brows of The Original rose, to the words he was truly surprised.

"It isn't the boring life of a law-bidding citizen. I'm interested in going out to..."

"That is good." The Monster's voice resonated, but it was cut off the instant The Original started speaking.

"You are finally interested in something, but... just so you don't forget, there is only one way that you will be let out..."

"I know... You don't have to smear it on my face."

"Good. Alright, then should we start?"

"Wait!"

"Hm? What is it, Persona?"

"Who will be chosen to go out with me?"

"It is a good question, but shouldn't it be the ones who are needed the most right now?"

"..." As confusion showed on all of the faces that were present, The Original continued.

"To be exact, Feral, Relatio, Seeker... and we need one more... someone who can understand difficult things... Order do you want to take the spot?"

"I...? I'm not that smart..."

"Don't look down on yourself."

"I'm not, it's just the truth. The one we need now isn't me..."

"You mean..."

"Yes, we should wake up Brilliance..."

"Hmh... Alright, if you decided so then so be it. Any other objections?"

"No."

"None."

"Good." Seeing everyone nod in agreement, The Original stood up.

"Then with Brilliance, the five who will stay in the light from her on out have been decided." And just as the words were spoken, The Original raised his hands, and with a loud clap, that resounded through all the space that the mental world was.

"Hm?"

"Why am I here?"

"..."

Except for Feral, who was already here but only listen and didn't speak, all three appeared one after the other.

"I apologize for bringing you three here out of nowhere, just a second and I will explain everything." With claiming words The Orginal walked to the three who appeared in the middle of the circle of chairs.

"I know it is a little too much at once since it came out of the blue but..."

"You want us to share our memories and thoughts." Brilliance just woke up after a long time, since whenever either of the personalities is not needed, they go to sleep yet now he already knew what was happening and what was needed.

"Oh, thanks Brilliance. Yes, that's exactly what I want."

"What happened with the limiter?"

"Yes, why do we break it now?"

"The limit is still standing we are just trying something, we are experimenting if our stronger body can stand the parallel thinking of 'us'." Tiana answered the hasty questions of Seeker and Relatio.

"..."

"..."

"Let's leave the explanation to me."

"Uh..." Since Brilliance spoke with indifference in his voice, Tiana puffed her cheeks.

"The only thing you need to do is open up your mind, you will understand when you see my thoughts, that is it."

"Oh, Brilliance you are so great!" The irony couldn't have been more apparent in the words of Relatio.

"You know... you are still annoying with your tone of speech!"

"Then close your ears or something." As Brilliance said he turned to Feral with a nonchalant look.

"Anyway, we should start now, I want to see what comes out of this experiment." As he turned back his nonchalant look and tone of speech changed to an excited one.

"..." Seeing Brilliance go to his spot and make his own chair appear out of nowhere, Seeker and Reletio did the same.

"We just haw to go out into the light at the same time."

"Hm...!" Even though Feral got annoyed by the commanding speech of Brilliance, he too followed.

Even though there were some who hated the other and even if fights break out between them they would never question the other's understanding of the thing they represented. None of the personalists denied the existence of the other, even if they wished their opposites or another one wouldn't exist.

...

*AHG...* Just as Temorsth woke up, he fell forward. He was grabbing his head from the pain that appeared.

"Uh!? What happened!?" Since Antanasia was still paying attention to Temorsth even though a moment ago he looked like he fell asleep, she disappeared the moment she notice that there was a problem. Since she was not that far she appeared right beside Temorsth.

"Hey!?" As Antanasia kneeled down she turned Temorsth over.

'His eyes... they are bloodshot.'

'His body... it's so hot... does he have a fever!? What happened why so suddenly?'

"How can I help? Tell me what can I do? Should I call..."

'No! If I call for the Olendriant I'll be dead...'

"Ugh... hug me..."

"What?"

*cough*cough*

"Uh..." Antanasia didn't understand how would a hug help, but seeing Temorsth in such a state, she had no time to freely think.

'Soft...' Temorsth's head got buried between two giant peaks.

'Good job, Persona. You did a really good job.' While Temorsth drowned in the valley of the two mountains, he raised his arms and locked them around Antanasia's waist.

'Thanks, I just tried to use the memories I got from you.'
