Chapter 23: No more help
"I... I did not." Antansia's words tried to sound as low and shaky as they could, she knew Temorsth one thought could end her life.
Afraid of the anger of an immature child she made herself look more appealing and innocent.
"Then why be sorry?"
"I, thank my lord kindness..." *sigh* Hearing Temorsth's calm words she settled down and sighed in relief.
'Success! Thank, the progenitors... he isn't a cheeky brat.'
"Hm... Anyway, dad!" As Seeker noticed Antanasia's fake face, Temorsth lost some of his interest. Instead of further conversation turned to his father.
"Huh? What is it, son?"
"You left me just like that, how could I do anything? Help me, what did you mean by slashing the shadows?"
"Oh, hm... first, I didn't say that. Second, I'll not help more." Thinking his son misunderstood his words and intention, Xalier described the situation in a vague and unconcerned way.
"Uhh...? But I..."
"There is no but... This is a challenge, don't forget it." Xalier didn't let further words be spoken.
He was ruthless with his words, but it was required for Temorsth's success, and Tem will only get it why when he succeeds.
"..." But for now hearing his father's harsh words he got uncomfortable.
"Ugh, fine I will do it... I'll show that I can do it, alone without your help, dad!" Temorsth words were annoyed yet determined as he turned around and went to the empty clearing.
*Mhmhmh...* A deep chuckle came from Xalier as he too turned while holding Elah's waist, they went to the blanket below the tree.
"Uh...?" With all three leaving, Antanasia got confused, they left her there just like she wasn't even there.
'Am I air now...?' A desperate cry sounded in her mind.
...
Xalier wasn't away for a long time at most for an hour, the sun was still up but there wasn't more than two hours before the sun would set, and yet...
'How can I do this...?' Temorsth stood before the elongated shadow of the forest, his head down, looking at slight movements.
'Slash the shadows... but really how can I slash a shadow?'
"Uhm... Let's try this first..." With the words, he brought the tip of his spear before himself.
His white flames burst out, and when they encompassed the whole of his spear...
*Hupp* He slashed at the empty air above the shadow, but...
'Thought so... light is not slashing the shadow instead, it just makes it disappear...'
'Then... dark...? No, am I stupid? Dark in the shadows, how could you cut it if it's almost the same...'
"Ahgh..." Temorsth stabbed his spear into the ground while he ruffled his hair.
"Ugh... I don't know! AHg..."
"You are giving up pretty fast..." Xalier had a mocking voice as he sat in the shade while looking at his son.
"I'm not giving up! I'm just thinking so that I don't scare dad with how fast I will learn it." Temorsth replied with loud words indicating his annoyance.
He didn't like that he couldn't understand or get any meaning out of the tips, his father has given.
'Let's calm down and think this through...' As he thought he sat down in a lotus position.
"Maybe..." After a few minutes, he stood up with an idea, gathered his white flames at the tip, *Hupp*
"Ahg...this isn't it either..." *sigh* As nothing happened he went back to the lotus position and started thinking again.
With new and further ideas coming up he tried everything, but all of them failed, and as such the hours passed rather quickly, and then...
...
"It's already dark, baby... come on in..."
"Uh...?" Looking up and seeing the complete darkness around, Temorsth stood up. 'There are no shadows to slash... I will continue tomorrow.'
As Temorsth walked to the giant tree "Huh?" he noticed the uncomfortable emotion and feeling coming from Antanasia.
While turning back he asked. "Are you not coming in?"
"Uh... am I allowed?" She hesitated, not knowing what she was supposed to do she just stood where they left her, all this while Temorsth trained, she just looked at him while thinking her situation through.
"Don't you need to follow me wherever I go?" His words were nonchalant as he asked her. Temorsth didn't care what she would do, he didn't want to force unnecessary things on her so he let her decide.
"Yes..." Hearing his words Antanasia went to him.
"This is our house... welcome... I suppose..." With Antanasia standing behind him he opened the door.
"Ah!" 'Another space magic...?' As she went after him, a large anteroom revealed itself before her eyes.
"..." 'It is big...' An arch without a door separated this room from an even larger room that looked to be the living room.
"Arn't you coming?" Temorsth didn't bother to turn around while he asked, he felt her surprise so he just asked her to follow.
"Ahm... yes, I am coming..."
"Huh... Sweety, don't you want to eat?" Seeing Temorsth walk to the hallway, leading to his room, Elah called out.
"Nay, I'm not hungry mom, but thanks... Hm.. right, do you want your own room, Ann?" He asked while he continued walking forward.
"Ann...?" Seeing that Tem turned to her, Antanasia questioned the nickname she was given.
"Oh, yes does it bother you, should I call you something else?"
"Not... really... it's just..." Memories of someone who called her the same way surfaced.
"Great... do you want your own room then?"
"If... if I can..."
"Alright! Mom, can you create a new room in the house tomorrow, please...?" Temorsth called through the hallway to his mother.
"Huh? Of course, I can sweety..." Elah didn't ask why, it only took her a moment to create a new section in this reformed dimension inside the tree.
"Thanks!"
'Tomorrow... then where...' As Antanasia questioned herself, her thoughts were cut off by Temorsth's words.
"Come on in..." Tem opened the door to his room.
"Uh..." Antanasia thought, she realized his intentions, but since she could do nothing, she followed after him.
...
"Who were you before?" In Temorsths room.
A strange expression appeared on Antanasia's face upon hearing the question. "Why do you ask, does it matter?" She closed the door behind them as she asked, her voice had a slight sift, from the emotions that surfaced a moment ago.
"Yes, it does! Tell me where you came from!" Sitting down on his bed, Temorsth started to question her, but his voice sounded more of an interrogation than normal conversation.
"..." Her face twisted, it was apparent the question was not to her liking. "I came from a different continent to the east..."
"And...?" Since she did not continue, Temorsth asked again.
"Why do you care!? I'm your fucking slave, I have no right whatsoever, it doesn't matter who I was!" It was even more obvious she didn't like Temorsth touching on the topic, since her voice rose with anger after every sentence.
"Hey, don't talk like shit!" Hearing her bad language again, he didn't let it slide this time.
"Why!? If you don't like it, then order me to stop!" Antanasia wasn't accustomed to enduring the extortion of her past by others.
"Ugh..." 'Calm down...' Whenever someone disrespected her she would most likely beat them up if not kill them, but now she could do nothing against this kid before her.
"If you talk like a bitch, people will think you're a bitch."
"I don't care what other people think!" Hearing him call her a bitch, the anger that she surpassed surfaced.
"Why?"
"What...!?"
"Why don't you care?" He interrupted her words, to clear his question.
"Why should I care what the fuckers think of me!?" When Antanasia started to get furious, she turned to Temorsth, until now she didn't face him not wanting to anger herself more by seeing a cheeky face.
"Uh..." But instead of an angry face, "Why are you smiling?" seeing this handsome junior's wide smile, her voice lost the anger it had.
"Now I know your real personality... this you, is no longer that facade you put up outside..."
"..." When she realized that a child had tricked her, she became embarrassed. She turned away to hide her red face.
Seeing this, Temorth's smile grew even bigger. "Cute."
"What...?" She question his words no because she didn't understand them, it was just a reaction of surprise.
"I said, you are cute." Temorsth knew this too, but he said it again just because he like her reaction to the phrase.
"Uh..." Antanasia turned her head even more, her face was no longer visible from Tem's perspective, but her red ears told him she was truly embarrassed, and the feelings he read from her transmitted emotions told it too.
'Cute...'
Relatio: 'I take it back...'
'Hm? What do you mean...'
Relatio: 'She is no milf...'
'Why...?'
Relatio: 'She is too innocent... she is most likely even has her V card...'
'Hmh...'
"Anyway, I meant what I said. Ann, you shouldn't talk like that..." Temorsth returned from his mind and continued his chat with Antanasia.
"Huh?" Hearing his tranquil voice, she too turned back with a new normal look, no anger nor embarrassment was seen and it wasn't even that fake face from before, it was her true and real face.
"If you really can't stand it, then only use this language when people close to you are around. If you do, they will feel that they are special to you, they will think you only show them the real 'you'..."
"Hm... On the other hand, most of the time people don't like to talk to individuals with bad language so try using it less..."
"I find it unnecessary to use it if you speak normally, but for the enemy..." *HMHMH* A small chuckle with a closed mouth was heard as he continued, "You can fuck them as much as you like..."
"Hmh..." Listening to this child's babble, a small smile appeared on Antanasia's face. She remembered a similar conversation she had with her sister.
...
'Wow, don't talk like that, people will think badly of you. Nobody likes a lady who talks like that!' A girl looking around 10 years younger than Antanasia spoke. As Antanasia looked around her early thirties, the girl looked to be 20.
'I don't care, they should screw themselves!'
*sigh* 'Sis, I don't want you to be alone forever.' Hearing her sister's words the girl sighed as she continued.
'What are you talking about, you're here for me.'
'What? You are gross!'
'I did not mean...!'
'Ahahaha'
'...' The laugh, full of joy slowly died down as she returned from the memory.
"..." Antanasia turned her head to look out of the window, her red eyes reflected the blue sky and the glow of the stars.
"Since I was little, I only knew my little sister...'
"...!" Temorsth began to listen to the story attentively.
