Chapter 17: It finally begins...
"Then shouldn't we investigate?"
"Hm... right, we should..." The three looked at each other...
"Do we really...?" A subtle fear sounded in the voice of the one who asked.
"..."
"..." Hearing the words full of concern a thought passed through their mind with it a red light flashed in the three-man red eyes.
"Ugh..." They shuddered in fear as they recalled the new king's red sword glistening with a red glow, the sword they saw was cutting off the heads of those they once called comrades.
The three saw the merciless eyes of Xalier looking at them, they were standing in the crowd at that time but they knew the look in the eyes was towards them...
'...' It terrified them, the look... the look which told them... 'You are the prey... I am the hunter!'
"Blood Red Flash..." As one remembered the Title of the new king he called it out with a shaking voice.
Even though Xalier was relatively young and still new as the head and king of the race, few could challenge him and because of that many called him a talent that appeared only in a hundred thousand years.
His talent was so great that his generation stood no chance against him and now he was challenging the older generation. This was exactly why the previous King, his father, retired and went into seclusion.
He handed all the power over to his son, even though Xalier was still less than a thousand years old at the time.
"I don't wanna..." They thought about the many comrades who disappeared after trying to find information about him and the territory of the southernmost battlefield. The three recalled what a truly scary being Xalier was.
"... shouldn't we report this to the Patriarch first?" The one who was the most scared asked the other two with a shaky voice.
"..."
"Yes... we should..." The tree didn't need further words they treasured their lives more than the missions they were assigned to, they disappeared into the shadows of the dark alley hidden in the shadowed village.
...
"Ugh..." Temorsth opened his eyes.
"Huh?" Looking around he realized he was in his bed.
"Uh, again... why do I always end up knocked out after something happens..." *sigh...* His voice sounded tired but it wasn't physical rather he was tired of his weak self.
'How much time has passed this time...?' His thought as he asked Aidana sounded annoyed, he didn't like that he got overpowered by every little thing he encountered.
[Don't worry not much time has passed, this time it didn't even take a day for you to wake up, and I just want to say it's pretty impressive you had your first breakthrough and woke up this quickly.]
[It was the first time you have experienced this so it should have had a really strong effect, for most it would at least knock them out for a few days if not weeks.]
'It feels like you're trying to comfort me, but thanks...' He tried to sit up, he pushed his upper body but instead of rising... *crack*
"Huh?" He felt his hand sink, "What the...?" he looked down to see his hand had gone through the mattress and broken the wooden slat.
"What happened? Are you alright sweetheart?" He looked up because he heard the door open after Elah's words.
"Mom, I-I broke my bed..." His words were innocent and his wide-open eyes had an even 'cuter' glint in them.
"Oh, sweetie! Wait, mommy will help."
...
'What is my current realm?' After getting help from his mother to get out, Temorsth asked Aidana.
"Let's eat something it's already lunchtime." His mother's kind and inviting words made Temorsth follow her like a little duck following its mother across the road.
[The Host is currently a Mortal Body Peak Stage cultivator.]
'Oh, I did get...' Tem closed the door behind themself... *crack* and the door nearly got ripped off.
'Why is this... I can't control my strength... I have become stronger many times but why now...?'
[It is because until now it was bonuses that you got, bonuses need to be brought up or to say induced but Cultivation is always present, as you have advanced so much it is not strange that you can't control it.]
"What?" Because of surprise, he spoke loudly.
"Yes? Oh, the door..." Elah turned because of his voice seeing the door hanging on only one hinge.
"Ah, nothing Mom, I was just talking to my system." He dismissed his loud sound, Temorsth didn't want to hide things either way so it was no concern to him.
"Talking to your system?" Hearing this, Elah looked at Tem with a strange look.
"Yes, I'm sorry mom."
"..." Her eyes were surprised but she didn't ask more, it was his own thing, Elah didn't want to know what her son didn't want to tell.
'I advanced six stages from the Mortal Middle stage to the Mortal Body Peak Stage... it's crazy...'
[Yes it is but it would have gone even more I just had to intervene a little and the parents helped too.]
"Dorothy!" Elah called for the housekeeper, the main golem.
"I am here Mistress." A short black-haired elven woman came before her, she was in a maid uniform, and there was nothing exceptional about her look she wasn't bad looking she was just average with a smaller chest size.
"Change the bed and door oh, and remind me I need to enchant the house with greater durability on items."
"Alright." Her words were without up and down she was just a golem after all.
...
"Oh yes, I want to ask Mother and Father for something." Sitting at the table Tem spoke.
"Yes, what is it, son?" Xalier asked back, he was holding something like a talisman, he was carving it right now from some strange petrified-looking wood.
"Can I go hunting? I want to try out my new weapon and strength."
"What?!" "What?!" Both his parents called out in surprise.
...
At the same time in a dark canyon at a black and red castle.
"Good...we'll give you three a proper gift later, but for now go find that thing if you can." A man with a deep voice said to three men, the three were kneeling before the few stairs leading up to the thorn which was shrouded in darkness.
"As the patriarch orders!" *3 With the words the three men disappeared from the blue light which only illuminated the bottom of the few stairs where they kneeled.
"..." A few seconds passed then the deep voice called "Leyla..."
"Yes." As the name was spoken, a woman appeared, since she appeared slightly away from the blue light, only her perfect proportions were visible, but the glowing red eyes showed what race she was.
"Inform Antanasia and order her to look for that thing, but be careful, the young Lear is probably still there, and let those three old bones know if you are at that."
"..." The women disappeared without a word.
The blue light had already gone out when the man with the old voice said a few words.
"At last you seem to have made a mistake, young Lear, what will it be... will this be your downfall? Will this be the loss of the throne which shouldn't even be yours...?"
...
Back at Temorsth and his family's house.
"No way! It won't happen, it is too dangerous, baby you have to understand that!" Elah's words were full of concern her tone was a little higher but she wasn't yelling.
"I know, but can't we go somewhere so I can fight monsters? I can't use my spears skill on mom and dad..."
"Son, you know we're not always home and we can't be with you. The only reason we can be home is that there is a teleportation spell connected not far from here." Xalier tried to explain it with a calm tone.
"Then you can leave me somewhere in a place where monsters of my level live, I want a little challenge anyway." But Temorsth didn't let it this time, he was getting stronger and he had to try going out.
"Son, the closest place where all the monsters wouldn't kill you is over a thousand miles from here and it would take over two hours to reach if something were to happen." Xalier still had his calm and soft tone but his eyes didn't waver, a little danger was not a problem but he wouldn't let his son be without protection too far away.
"But...if I don't go out, I'll be like someone who grew up in a greenhouse...I don't want to be arrogant and useless..." Temorsth knew his parent's words were right but he couldn't accept it, the last thing he wanted was to be useless.
"..."
"..." Neither Elah nor Xalier spoke they knew what he wanted was right but it was too dangerous. There is almost no one they could trust in their race with the knowledge about their son.
...
At the same time, in another place.
A somewhat muscular woman sat on the second floor of a dark pub or tavern-like place. "Ahh..." *puff* She slammed her wooden jug down on the wooden table. "This was refreshing..."
She had oriental features but her skin was white or to say pale and her eyes glowed red in the dark.
The woman's long black hair was tied in a high ponytail. As her hair swayed a black snake tattoo became visible on her back, the tattoo was encompassing the whole of her back.
She was wearing a red and black dress-like outfit, with a high-cut skirt for better movement, the upper part of the dress showing off her shoulders, arms, and chest in a v shape.
Three katana-like weapons hung from her waist, one katana to her right and two to her left, all three sheets were black, but one of the two which was on her left had strange red markings on it, it had an ominous air around it. A transparent, green veil-like cloth floated above her shoulders.
"I suppose you are Antanasia..." A voice called to her, who was sitting alone in the low-lighted area of the tavern.
"Hm..." At that moment when she started refilling her wooden jug with some sort of liquor or beer a soft and light womanly voice called to her.
"Yes..." Antanasia's voice was nonchalant as she confirmed.
"The Patriarch ordered you to..."
"Pay..." Antanasia didn't let the woman finish her words.
*gulp*gulp* As she poured the brown-colored alcohol down her throat, *puff*cling* a bag landed on her table.
"Hm... it's only half..." She confirmed the gold in the bag solely by the sound it had.
"The other half..."
"I know... then where do I need to go, what do I need to do?" Antanasia again interrupted the woman, she didn't give her any face showing the difference in strength.
"The southernmost battlefield, search for an object or energy that fell from the sky."
"Hm..."
"And lay low, the new king can be around in the area..."
"Oh!" Anastasia's voice sounded excited from what she heard.
