Tides of the Moon

Chapter 47: Chapter 47: The Truth Woven in Light

The vortex of threads dissipated, depositing Divine onto solid ground. This time, she wasn't in the void. She stood in the middle of a grand hall, its walls lined with mirrors that reflected not her current self, but fragments of her past.

Each mirror displayed a different version of her: a goddess in flowing silver robes, a warrior wielding moonlight like a blade, and a human girl—vulnerable, uncertain, and afraid.

At the far end of the hall stood the Weaver, their form now more defined. The shadows that had obscured them were gone, revealing a being of pure light, their face serene but inscrutable.

"Welcome, Keeper," the Weaver said, their voice no longer distant but warm. "It is time you learn the truth of who you are—and who you were meant to be."

Divine approached cautiously, her heart pounding. "Why did you hide this from me? Why didn't you tell me what I was?"

"Because you were not ready to know," the Weaver replied. "But now, the Loom itself calls for your understanding. Look into the mirrors, and see the truth woven into your very being."

Divine turned to the mirrors, her reflection shifting with each step. The goddess version of herself stepped forward, her eyes glowing with celestial power.

"You were born from the light of the moon and the tides of the ocean," the goddess said, her voice echoing like a song. "You were created to be a bridge between the divine and the mortal, a guide to bring balance to the realms."

The warrior stepped forward next, her armor gleaming like moonlight. "But the balance you were meant to uphold was fragile. You wielded great power, but with power came temptation—and choices that unraveled the threads of destiny."

Finally, the human girl appeared, her reflection trembling. "You chose to live as one of them," she whispered. "To feel what they feel, to understand their struggles. But in doing so, you forgot who you were. You abandoned your purpose."

Divine staggered back, the weight of their words pressing down on her. "I… I didn't mean to forget. I just wanted to be free. To be more than a tool for some grand design."

"And yet," the Weaver interjected, "your choices have led to this moment. The Loom is unraveling, the balance between realms is crumbling, and the Earthly realm stands on the brink of chaos. You alone have the power to restore it—but only if you embrace both your humanity and your divinity."

The mirrors dissolved, leaving Divine alone with the Weaver. "What do I have to do?" she asked, her voice steady despite the storm of emotions inside her.

"You must return to the Earthly realm," the Weaver said. "Your duty is to guide humanity, to teach them the value of balance and harmony. But you will not do so as a goddess looking down upon them. You will walk among them as one of their own, using your power sparingly and with great wisdom."

Divine nodded, her resolve hardening. "I'll do it. Whatever it takes to make things right."

The Weaver extended a hand, and a glowing thread appeared between them. "Then take this thread, Keeper. It is the essence of your divinity. But remember: to wield it is to carry the weight of countless lives. Use it wisely."

Divine reached out, her fingers brushing the thread. The moment she touched it, a surge of energy coursed through her, filling her with both light and shadow. She felt whole for the first time, her past and present merging into one.

The Weaver smiled faintly. "Go now, Keeper of the Moon. Your journey is far from over, but you are no longer alone."

The hall faded, and Divine found herself back in the ruins of Moonshadow Haven, Caelan standing by her side. He looked at her, relief and awe in his eyes.

"Divine," he said softly. "You're glowing."

She smiled, the weight of her purpose finally clear. "It's time, Caelan. We have work to do."
