Chapter 226: The Ship Flying in the Sky

______

Robin looked at Aoki.

Although it was her first time seeing him in person, his face was far from unfamiliar.

Her hometown, O'Hara, had been destroyed under the direct orders of the Five Elders. Over the years, as her knowledge and experiences grew, she became acutely aware of what the Celestial Dragons, the Five Elders, and the World Government truly represented.

Revenge?

The thought had barely crossed her mind before being pushed aside.

Don't provoke the Celestial Dragons.

This wasn't just her belief—it was an unwritten rule ingrained in the collective psyche of the entire world.

But recently, news had spread like wildfire, shattering that long-held perception.

The Celestial Dragons could die.

The one who dared to strike at the untouchable Celestial Dragons was the man standing before her—the owner of that face.

The Dragon King.

His initial bounty was a staggering 5 billion berries, a figure so astronomical it eclipsed her own bounty of 79 million to insignificance.

"By the way, you seemed like you wanted to say something earlier," Aoki said, pulling her from her thoughts.

"No, nothing," Robin replied, shaking her head. A strange feeling lingered in her chest.

After all, she no longer had to worry about dragging Aoki into her troubles.

The World Government's and the Celestial Dragons' desire to kill Aoki was undoubtedly hundreds of times greater than their intent to capture her.

"What about the ruins?"

"No problem!" Robin said, smiling as she slipped the Thousand Illusion Mask back onto her face. A sense of security washed over her.

Aoki considered her for a moment. "The Thousand Illusion Mask can make your life easier, but don't rely on it too much. Otherwise, you might lose yourself."

If she were the mature, composed, and intellectual Robin of the future, Aoki wouldn't have been concerned.

But now? Robin was only 14 years old.

Though her hardships had made her appear precocious, her mind was still that of a child.

Robin's expression turned serious. She nodded slowly. "I understand."

After finishing their discussion, as well as their meal and drinks, the two headed to Robin's residence.

Dust blanketed the ground in thick layers, leaving only a narrow path clear for passage. The room itself was barren, not even a splinter of wood furnishing the space.

The house had long been abandoned.

"You live here?" Aoki waved a hand to disperse some of the dust in the air.

"This kind of place is safer," Robin replied matter-of-factly.

They followed the narrow path to a smaller room.

Compared to the rest of the building, this space was considerably cleaner. A simple curtain separated a makeshift bathroom from the main area. However, it was still painfully modest.

Aoki scanned the room, his tone laced with concern. "The conditions are pretty rough."

Robin picked up her backpack, gathering scattered clothes and books as she spoke. "It's not as bad as it looks. This is just temporary. If I hadn't met you today, I'd have moved into a proper house by now."

Aoki leaned casually against the doorframe, smiling. "So, it's my fault you missed out on that. I guess you won't be living in a big house anytime soon."

"For me, living in a big house doesn't matter all that much," Robin said, strapping her backpack securely. "Alright, let's go."

The two exited the abandoned building.

"Robin, is there anything else you'd like to do?" Aoki asked as they walked. "We'll be heading directly to the Grand Line after this."

Robin was about to shake her head when she paused, falling silent for a moment before answering. "I want to go back to O'Hara."

Aoki glanced at her, then nodded. "Sure."

Without hesitation, he picked her up, spread his bat-like wings, and soared into the sky.

---

The land was overrun with weeds, desolate and broken. Dust covered the ruins of what had once been grand buildings.

Here and there, scars of bombardment remained visible, haunting reminders of devastation.

This was once the archaeological holy land—O'Hara.

Aoki landed gently, setting Robin down.

Robin instinctively took a few steps forward, her eyes slowly scanning the ruins. Her gaze swept across the broken remnants of her past, and her breathing hitched.

Aoki stayed back, giving her space, silent and watchful.

This was not only Robin's hometown but also a place steeped in sorrow.

Six years ago, it was here that Robin lost all her relatives, friends, and teachers.

After a long moment, Robin turned to Aoki and said, "Let's go."

Aoki tilted his head slightly. "Don't you want to go inside and take a look?"

"There's no need!" Robin replied, her voice firmer now.

She perked up, shaking off the lingering sadness. "How do we get to the Grand Line? Fly there directly? Or should we buy a boat and go over Reverse Mountain?"

"Neither," Aoki said simply.

Before Robin could respond, Aoki grabbed her arm, and in an instant, the two vanished.

---

The world around them shifted dramatically, as though it had been turned on its head.

Robin looked around in shock, her eyes wide as she took in the unfamiliar scenery.

Aoki, unperturbed, glanced toward the calm and tranquil zone not far away. His thoughts drifted momentarily to the powers of the Devil Fruits. These powers, rooted in blood, could be extracted from Devil Fruit users. However, they weren't the only targets.

Super-large Sea Kings and colossal creatures like the Zunesha also fit the criteria.

Even if these behemoths didn't possess unique abilities, their sheer size and strength made them exceptional sources of blood power.

"Though super-large Sea Kings are immense, they still don't compare to the Zunesha," Aoki mused aloud.

The Zunesha, a natural disaster incarnate, towered tens of thousands of meters high. Its feet rested on the seabed, its head pierced the clouds, and an entire country lived on its back. Yet, the creature roamed the Grand Line, elusive and difficult to locate.

Moreover, while extracting blood power wouldn't be fatal, it would cause considerable harm. The Zunesha and the Sea Kings, being highly intelligent, would never willingly allow such an intrusion.

"Aoki, what is this place?" Robin's voice pulled him from his thoughts.

"It's an uninhabited island near the calm belt in the New World," Aoki explained.

Robin nodded in understanding. "No wonder you were able to destroy the Twin Blades Pirates and return to the capital in just one day."

Aoki chuckled. "Blind student, congratulations on discovering the huadian."

Robin raised an eyebrow. "By the way, where are the ruins?"

"I don't know the exact details," Aoki admitted. "I only know they're in a place called Shuigu Town."

"At least you know the name," Robin teased with a soft laugh.

Aoki grinned. "That's more than enough."

Without further delay, he picked her up, and they sped off into the sky.

---

The New World was vast. While it wasn't infinite, locating a specific island amidst the sprawling ocean was no small feat.

Within Aoki's alternate space, the two suddenly appeared, droplets of water clinging to their forms.

Robin grabbed a towel and began drying herself. "The climate on the Grand Line is ridiculous!"

The skies had been clear moments ago, but within seconds, gale-force winds, crackling lightning, and torrential rain had descended upon them.

"Good thing we have this space," Robin added. "Otherwise, we'd both be drenched again."

"It's getting dark," Aoki said. "Let's rest here for the night and continue tomorrow."

Robin suddenly laughed, her voice light and amused.

"What's so funny?" Aoki asked, genuinely puzzled.

Robin smiled. "Back in the Ram Kingdom, you said I wouldn't be living in a big house anytime soon. But now, here I am."

Aoki sighed dramatically. "I underestimated my own alternate dimension. You win this one."

---

The next morning, the two left the alternate space and returned to the outside world.

The weather had completely changed. The sun shone brightly, and the sky was clear of even the smallest cloud.

Aoki carried Robin and soared into the sky. He raised his right hand, checking the log pose strapped to his wrist.

"Next, we head this way—"

"Aoki!" Robin's tone was sharp and filled with urgency, cutting him off mid-sentence.

"Hmm? What's wrong?" Aoki asked, glancing at her.

"Look over there!" Robin pointed, her voice tinged with disbelief.

Aoki turned in the direction she indicated. His expression hardened slightly as he took in the sight.

A massive pirate ship hovered in the air, flying toward them at an alarming speed.
