Three Paths of Cultivation

Now that Vin Blake had met the requirements for the Core Creation Rank, he could not help but wonder which Path of Cultivation he would have to follow.

One did not get the chance to choose their own Path of Cultivation, but it was decided for them by the universe on the day one formed their own core.

When someone creates their core, the essence absorbed by their body is used to create the core. Because the essence has been in their body for a long time, it changes to suit their body specifically. This change is what determines which of the three paths of cultivation one takes.

As the accumulated essence is concentrated to a single point in the body of the cultivator, it slowly starts attracting essence from outside the cultivator's body. But because this essence is not compatible with the cultivator's body, it has to be refined to suit the cultivator. This is the goal of the Core Creation Rank.

In the Core Creation Rank, the cultivator has to ensure that their body can refine pure essence to become compatible with their body as perfectly as possible. This is done by the cultivator's core; therefore, the better their core's ability to refine pure essence, the higher the tier of the cultivator in the Core Creation Rank.

Vin Blake stood up and cleaned himself. He looked around the field filled with green grass, and he could not help but let out a light sigh. This field had been his training ground ever since he was able to manipulate essence. A few months after he had turned six years old, he began his journey to start cultivating.

He started coming to this field ever since. Every day he would come here after finishing his duties at the Lydon Family Manor. He could not describe the joy he felt for accomplishing his goals within a year, but he was still going to miss the open field.

He walked to the Lydon Family Manor, ready to break the news of his accomplishments to his father. When he reached the family manor, he went to the room assigned to him and his parents. The Lydon Family Manor was the organization responsible for cultivators in the Lydon Region. The Lydon Family was the only organization involving cultivators that was allowed to exist in the region. When someone became a cultivator, they would be taken into the manor.

The organization was called the Lydon Family Manor because it was controlled by the Lydon Family, the most powerful family of cultivators in the region. Rumors said that the most powerful elder of the family was in the Essence Control Rank.

Vin Blake waited for his parents to come back from their duties. His parents were cultivators and had to do certain duties given to them by the Manor that could only be handled by cultivators. His father came and found him there. Vin Blake told his father that he had finally satiated his body with essence.

His father congratulated him and led him to the Library of the Lydon Family Manor, where he handed Vin a scroll with a technique for creating a core. Vin was familiar with this technique; after all, it was the same technique he practiced every day. He passed through the scroll and quickly memorized it. He handed his father the scroll after he was done.

Then he went with his father to a secluded room where he was going to form his core.

"Follow the technique written in the scroll, and everything will be alright."

Vin's father was in the Fusion Rank, and he was going to watch over the creation of Vin's core. Feeling safe and protected, Vin Blake went and sat in the middle of the room and closed his eyes.

Vin concentrated on the essence that he had stored in his body up until now. This was the first step in the Basic Technique of Core Creation that was known by everyone. After concentrating on the essence in his body for some time, it started reacting.

The essence started moving through his body as it came to life. It moved through his veins, his muscles, and body tissues all throughout his body. It was a strange sensation that felt like a tingling shock of electricity was passing through his body. He let the essence refine his body in preparation for creating his core.

As he concentrated on the essence as it refined his body, he lost track of time and did not know how long he had taken in the process of creating his core. Soon enough, the essence stopped moving around his body and started moving to his chest; the second step of the Basic Technique of Core Creation had started.

The body of the cultivator would only be ready to sustain a core after it had been refined. The core of human beings would be found in the chest, right in the middle. To form the core, the essence that was compatible with the body of the cultivator would collect in the middle of the chest and slowly start forming a core with the help of the cultivator.

If the concentration of the cultivator was broken at this stage, they would fail to create a core and lose all chance of ever creating one. And if the cultivator used poor technique, they would form a poor-quality core that would hinder their Path of Cultivation. All in all, perfection was crucial at this stage of the Core Creation Rank.

Vin Blake concentrated on the essence in his body that was moving towards his chest. The cultivator was supposed to guide the essence to the middle of the chest and start forming the core. But as Vin was directing the essence to the middle of his chest, he lost control of the essence.

Vin started panicking when he discovered he had lost control of the essence because if something went wrong, he might not only lose his chance to become a cultivator, but he could die from the rampant actions of the essence if his vitals were affected.

Soon, his panic reduced because the essence was not moving in an uncontrolled manner, as he had been expecting of unstable essence, but his panic doubled at what happened next.

The essence that was supposed to go to the middle of his chest split into three separate beams of essence.
