chapter 23
Chapter 23: The Adult, the Bad Woman is Not Used This Way
Unless the parties involved intentionally create some unusual scent, or the species is born with a gigantic and pungent body odor, there is usually no scent.
On the other hand, because of the reduction in miscellaneous odors, the body scent of each woman will become more apparent.
“Well, it’s just a joke, I’ll help you with the massage, what’s the big deal, I’m afraid you’ll really put your foot in my mouth,”
Chu Yan patted Xunoya’s firm thigh, and she intentionally turned her body around, lying on the ground, allowing Chu Yan to continue the massage.
During this time, Xunoya also inquired about Chu Yan’s recent outdoor activities.
Learning that the people in the slum district had initially acquired the ability to “purify miscellaneous odors,” she was shocked and relieved.
Of course, what was even more unexpected was Chu Yan’s subsequent plan.
“Are you going to let the people from the slum district move here to live? The aristocrats won’t provide housing,”
“That’s fine, let them build their own homes, choose a location outside the city gate, and use their hunting spoils to exchange for materials, and let them clearly feel a new path to a new life,”
Xunoya thought for a moment, finding many things to criticize about this guy’s plan.
The current layout of Xing Le City can be seen as the slum district being the rich district’s moat, but after the people of the slum district move to the vacant land outside the city gate (towards the outside world), won’t the rich district become the slum dwellers’ moat?
Chu Yan’s plans can be said to be step by step to take the aristocrats’ lives.
Thinking about this, Xunoya found herself on the other side of admiration.
Looking lazy and sloppy, yet he had accomplished many things in a short period of time, initially thinking he was just a failure in the inner circle, sent to waste his days.
Surprisingly, he was quite capable!
Compared to those who secretly work hard and quietly scheming, people like this who can do things effortlessly are the most annoying, aren’t they?
“Chu Yan, where are your hands?”
Xunoya maintained her pose, looking at Chu Yan with a neutral expression.
Chu Yan smiled and said:
“I’m not looking at your body-hugging workout outfit, I’m just helping you stretch out a bit, and it looks a bit tight, so I’ll help you loosen it up,”
Xunoya wore a serious warning expression, but didn’t really stop him, only saying:
“Before your fingers make any movements, do you need to tell me first?”
“Cough cough…” Chu Yan awkwardly changed the subject, “Speaking of which, your hips told me that you just admired me inexplicably. Do you think my relaxation massage is very professional?”
The female knight was immediately shocked and doubtful. She had thought he was talking nonsense, but could it be he was actually serious?
Feeling her thoughts guessed was quite embarrassing and awkward.
“Admire? You’re too narcissistic, stop talking nonsense!”
Xia Nuoya executed a scissor kick, trapping Chu Yan with her soft yet resilient thighs, controlling the not-so-heavy pressure, using a joint lock to subdue him, preventing any more strange words from coming out!
Author’s note: PS1: The weather has gotten cold, everyone should keep warm.
PS2: This part of the plot is preparing to wrap up, so it needs to be planned more carefully, hence there will be a few chapters of daily life to transition.
Chapter Twenty-One: Have You Misunderstood Something?
The gates of Paradise City.
This was Chu Yan’s third time standing here, accompanied by Xia Nuoya and Janet.
The first time was upon his arrival, the second time to welcome the executioner, and now, the third time, waiting for the traveling merchant to appear and purchase goods.
Traveling merchants are essentially middlemen, running back and forth between various places, potentially buying anything and then reselling it elsewhere for a profit.
In a large city like Dragonflame City, during the harvest season each year, one could even see caravans of traveling merchants.
But in a place as desolate as Paradise City, they were rare, with only one or two visiting.
A lizard dragon descended from the sky, and as the dragon glided down, the wind pressure from its wings raised the hair of the three people.
An elf woman with light orange hair, perpetually youthful in appearance (except for the very old), and pointed ears—a racial trait of elves—jumped down from the dragon’s back.
“Ah! My first visit to the Dead Sea border, and to be greeted with such a grand welcome, hello, Janet, and the other two are…?”
Chu Yan introduced himself, naturally not leaving out Xia Nuoya.
However, he merely introduced their identities, deeming it unnecessary to delve into the changes in the Dead Sea borderlands, as it would be too lengthy a discourse.
The elf woman shook her hands warmly:
“So you are the new lord and the new member of the castle, Xia Nuoya. My name is Oga, a traveling merchant, and also… a knight.”
Chu Yan understood her pause and smiled:
“Did you mean to say ‘Dragon Knight’?”
Oga laughed awkwardly:
“Coming to the land of the Dragonborn, one must be a bit more tactful. So, what good merchandise do you have this time?”
Among merchants, the most appreciated is each other’s straightforwardness. Janet, without any small talk, brought out the recent spoils, including monster cores, leather, teeth, and the like.
These were the specialties of the Dead Sea.
After the elf woman counted and appraised them, she said:
“Two hundred and sixteen gold coins, any objections to the price?”
Chu Yan had told Janet beforehand to leave the selling entirely to her, and Janet did not ask the other party to renegotiate the price.
This is already a very good price, and besides, there aren’t many merchants willing to travel to the Dead Sea border.
If it weren’t for this Ogar Dragon Knight, whose main business is weapons, blueprints, weapon materials, and the like, I doubt she would have come to the Dead Sea border.
Janet shrugged her shoulders: “Deal.”
“Haha~ I just love your straightforwardness, Janet. By the way, I’m responsible for conveying purchase requests. Do you have any special weapons here?”
“What do you mean?”
Chu Yan raised an eyebrow, pondering whether the news of the Dead Sea armaments had spread so quickly?
“In the Crystal Great Forest, the Elven Royal Family has issued a purchase announcement. If there are any peculiar weapons, they will buy them.
We merchants of elven descent just help to spread the word.”
So that’s it, Chu Yan breathed a sigh of relief and shook her head:
“In a place like the Dead Sea border, where resources are scarce, where could there be spare weapons to sell? The front lines are very tight.”
“I understand, the living conditions here are indeed tough, but there’s still some profit to be made.”
Chu Yan quite agreed with the elven merchant’s words.
The materials just sold were accumulated by Janet herself, along with what was obtained from the coast by the slums in the past few days.
Although it was good luck that the quality of these materials was excellent, allowing them to sell at such a high price, this was the harvest of a month, and still a no-cost business.
Two hundred and sixteen gold coins, of which about fifty could be distributed to the slums, enough for them to live well.
In the past, the income brought by the clearance sales would mostly end up in the pockets of the Dead Sea nobility, who occasionally went out to the outside world to consume and enjoy themselves, as part of their important annual plan.
Otherwise, the money would have nowhere to go.
Chu Yan talked with the female elf about the merchant recruitment plan, asking her if she had any connections to set up a shop in Elysium City, to buy materials at any time, and to establish supporting consumption facilities, similar to a commercial street.
The female elf’s response was “needs consideration.”
This reaction is understandable, as such investments need to be placed in extremely stable and prosperous areas.
The Dead Sea does indeed have a lot of profit, but for so many years, no foreign shops have settled in, and the environment can be imagined.
And the money is all in the hands of the nobles, the local residents hardly have any money, one can only say… the investment “potential” is very large.
“By the way, my lord, I’ve acquired something outside, which should be considered a mystery box. I’ll give it to you as a gift for being a loyal customer.”
Ogar took out an old, finely forged chest from the large bundle next to the dragon’s back, its lock already corroded, carrying the unique magical aura of the Dead Sea environment.
Such a “mystery box,” usually with the key lost, can only be forcibly broken open, hence merchants cannot operate what’s inside.
And in the rust of this chest, Chu Yan could vaguely see the emblem of the Dead Sea.
Xia Noya noticed this detail:
“Could it be the relic of the old lord, hoarded and sold off by the Dead Sea inability after his demise?”
Chu Yan joked with the elven merchant: “Thank you, I hope it’s not any personal clothing~”
After selling their goods, they began to spend at the elven merchant’s, and quite a bit of the newly acquired gold coins were spent again.
Janet even took out a list for shopping, many items were “cellmate” requests, as they didn’t like going out much.
Janet and Shanoa each bought meat, vegetables, fruits, and the like.
Shanoa rarely went out, she looked at the ingredients she just bought, pondering whether Chu Yan would prefer vegetable soup or steak?
It was perfect timing to improve the meal tonight, as they had complained about the dreadful food of the Dead Sea in the morning.
These were premium ingredients hard to come by in the Dead Sea.
Holding a large piece of steak in her hand, Janet invited:
“Young Lord, how about a barbecue feast to celebrate?”
Her intention was to have a barbecue in the yard, calling everyone to join.
But as soon as Janet finished speaking, she keenly noticed Shanoa’s subtle glance, her playful spirit arose, and she teased:
“Oh, did Shanoa and the Young Lord make dinner plans in advance? But after the celebration, the mood might dampen, could Shanoa bear with it?”
Her words were ambiguous, clearly meaning “Shanoa, postpone your plans, let’s have barbecue tonight together,” but deliberately phrased as “Tonight, let me invite the Lord, and Shanoa, you step aside.”
