This Is Definitely Not Dragon Ball!!

Chapter 228: The Hope of Resurrection

Seeing Trunks' rationality triumph over his hatred in the end, Yuujin secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

If Trunks had stubbornly insisted on killing this world's Androids 17 and 18 for revenge, Yuujin would've found it difficult to stop him.

"Androids 17 and 18, your days of doing whatever you please are over. From now on, obediently become our captives!"

Looking at the fallen 17 and 18, a faint smile curled at Yuujin's lips.

"D-Damn it!"

Filled with unwillingness, Androids 17 and 18 raised their hands, attempting to fire ki blasts in continued resistance.

"What a pair of stubborn fools…"

Shaking his head, Yuujin casually waved his hand, scattering the energy they had painstakingly gathered. Then, with a swift chop, he knocked them both unconscious.

"Androids 17 and 18 are dealt with. Your world can finally return to peace."

"Trunks, let's hurry back. Otherwise, your mother and the others will start to worry."

Hoisting the unconscious 17 and 18 over his shoulder, Yuujin spoke.

"Yes, Yuujin-san!"

Though the outcome wasn't exactly as he had imagined, defeating Androids 17 and 18 was still something to be happy about. Trunks was eager to return and share the news with his mother and everyone else.

Unsurprisingly, when Yuujin and Trunks brought Androids 17 and 18 back to West City, both Bulmas were shocked. Upon learning that Trunks had defeated the androids and that 17 and 18 were now mere captives, the two Bulmas finally relaxed.

"That's wonderful, Trunks. You've finally defeated Androids 17 and 18. Our world is finally saved."

Stroking Trunks' cheek, the elder Bulma's eyes grew misty.

Their world had been shrouded in the terror of the androids for far too long. Countless cities were destroyed, countless lives lost, and now, this nightmare could finally end.

"Mother, I'll go share the news with everyone. From now on, no one needs to worry about the androids causing harm."

"Mm, go quickly."

As Trunks spoke, the elder Bulma nodded.

This news needed to reach everyone. With the threat of the androids gone, their world could finally return to normal.

Flying into the sky, Trunks spread the news of the androids' defeat to the remaining survivors, while Yuujin turned to the elder Bulma with a smile.

"Bulma-san, we might stay in this world for a few more days. Would you mind us imposing for a little longer?"

"Not at all, not at all. It's thanks to you that Trunks finally defeated the androids and saved our world. As long as you don't mind our simple accommodations, you can stay as long as you like."

Overwhelmed with gratitude, the elder Bulma naturally didn't mind.

Chatting and laughing, they all entered the house. Meanwhile, the outside world was abuzz with joy.

As the successor of Gohan, the super warrior who had been fighting against the androids, Trunks was famous in this world. When people learned from him that Androids 17 and 18 had been defeated, the remaining survivors cheered and celebrated. Many were so moved that they wept openly.

It was over. The nightmare days were finally over!

The Next Day, West City—

"Everyone, don't push. Please form a line and come one at a time."

"It's Trunks! Trunks is here!"

"A hero! A hero!"

On the streets, the two Bulmas and Goku were distributing relief supplies to the people. When Trunks appeared, the crowd erupted in excitement, shouting his name in admiration.

Surrounded by the crowd calling him a hero and expressing their gratitude, Trunks looked completely at a loss.

"Really, Trunks, what are you doing out here?"

"I... I just wanted to help out a bit."

"You're the hero who saved the world, the ultra-popular prince. You're only making things harder for us by being here. Go back, go back."

"..."

Driven away by his own mother, Trunks couldn't help but look a bit dejected.

"Trunks, how does it feel to be a hero?"

Seeing Trunks return, Yuujin, who was sipping tea in the house, teased with a laugh.

"It's not bad, I guess, but everyone is a bit too enthusiastic."

Smiling wryly, Trunks replied.

"Well, you are the hero who saved the world. Just get used to it."

Yuujin teased him again, but Trunks' expression darkened as he gazed outside at the cheering crowd.

"Restoring peace to the world makes me very, very happy."

"But... but I'll never see Gohan-san again…"

Many warriors had fought against the androids—Piccolo, Tien, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Demon King Piccolo, and even Trunks' biological father, Vegeta. However, Trunks had little memory of them, as they died when he was still very young. Most of what he knew about them came from stories his mother told him.

But Gohan was different. In this world, Gohan had been both a mentor and a companion to Trunks. His death had dealt a heavy blow to Trunks, and it was Gohan's sacrifice that had pushed him to surpass his limits and transform into a Super Saiyan.

Trunks had always blamed himself. If only he had been stronger back then, Gohan wouldn't have been gravely injured while protecting him. If only he had been stronger, Gohan wouldn't have been killed by Androids 17 and 18.

While he hated the androids, he also deeply blamed himself. He couldn't even bring himself to face Chi-Chi, Gohan's mother.

Chi-Chi had cared for and loved Gohan deeply. She had always opposed Gohan fighting the androids, and his death must have caused her unimaginable pain.

Thinking of this, Trunks felt an even deeper sorrow.

"Gohan, the child of Chi-Chi and Goku in this world…"

"It's actually quite simple. If you truly care, you can use the Dragon Balls to bring him back to life."

Stroking his chin thoughtfully, Yuujin suggested.

"No, the Kami of our world died long ago, and the Dragon Balls disappeared with him."

Trunks shook his head.

"I'm not talking about Earth's Dragon Balls. I mean the Namekian Dragon Balls."

"Dragon Balls are mystical objects created by the Namekians. Apart from Earth, Namek also has Dragon Balls. Your mother should know about this."

"You can go to your universe's Namek, find their Dragon Balls, and use them to resurrect Gohan and even the other humans killed by Androids 17 and 18."

Yuujin explained, and Trunks' eyes lit up.

However, a thought suddenly dampened his excitement.

"But Gohan-san has been dead for years. Can he really be resurrected?"

"If his soul has already reincarnated, it would indeed be impossible to revive him."

"But don't worry. Usually, those with great strength and significant contributions to the world don't reincarnate so quickly. Gohan, and perhaps even others like Tien and Yamcha, might still have their souls in the afterlife. The Dragon Balls can bring them back."

Yuujin wasn't just trying to comfort Trunks. As someone with a connection to the divine, Yuujin had a good understanding of the afterlife, and what he said was likely true.

"That's wonderful! I'll go to Namek right now and find the Dragon Balls to bring back Gohan-san and the others!"

Overjoyed, Trunks turned to leave, but Yuujin stopped him.

"Calm down, Trunks."

"Our priority now is waiting for Cell to appear. Only by eliminating Cell can your world be truly saved. Once that's done, you can go to Namek and find the Dragon Balls."

"S-Sorry, Yuujin-san. I got too excited."

"I understand how you feel. Don't worry. Everything will turn out fine."

"Mm!"

Reassured by Yuujin, Trunks nodded firmly.

No longer filled with despair, Trunks now carried a heart full of hope...
