Chapter 103
When Yi Ming woke up, Jiang Wei had already gone to school.
Yi Ming stretched lazily and leaned back, glancing to find a note written in elegant cursive by the desk: "You were sleeping so soundly, I didn't wake you up. Your morning class is later, so no rush. There's porridge in the pot and I made some fresh potato shred burgers for you in the thermal box. Give them a try."
At the end of the note was a big, crudely drawn smiley face. Yi Ming thought it looked awful, yet he still found himself grinning stupidly at it for a while...
After her first class, Jiang Wei noticed Yi Ming wasn't outside, so she sent him a message.
"Not at school yet?"
Five or six seconds later, Yi Ming replied: "Look behind you."
Jiang Wei was initially puzzled, then turned around abruptly.
Behind her was a long corridor, the iron frames above covered in lush green vines. Under the verdant shade, the young man's tall figure and warm smile made him seem like he had stepped out of a cartoon.
Jiang Wei froze.
In her transfixed gaze, the man smiled as he approached her, those around him suddenly dull in comparison as only he filled her vision.
"Yi Ming?" Yi Ming came to a stop before Jiang Wei, half a head taller than her. He leaned down slightly, eyes brimming with amusement. "Someone went looking for me everywhere after leaving earlier. Can't bear to be apart from me for even a minute, it seems..."
Jiang Wei felt her ears grow warm. "When did you get here? How did I not see you?"
"I've been here a while, waiting for your class to end."
Yi Ming smiled, taking Jiang Wei's backpack off her shoulders and slinging it casually over his own. "Let's go, you're free now, right? Our big lecture with the other departments is next. Come with me."
At D University, classes were open for other majors to audit. Jiang Wei often accompanied Yi Ming to his medical lectures, intrigued by the mystique and nobility of the medical world.
"Yi Ming, you're here."
From a distance, their roommate Qin Hao waved excitedly at Yi Ming and Jiang Wei, grinning ear to ear as the veteran "CP" fan.
"Ah, if it isn't the lovebirds!"
Before Jiang Wei could respond, Yi Ming casually draped an arm over her shoulders, giving Qin Hao a mischievous thumbs-up. "You know what's up, bro."
Jiang Wei smiled demurely and nodded at Qin Hao. "Hello, Qin Ge."
Her sweet, innocent demeanor made Qin Hao's heart skip a beat as he grinned wider. "Hello, hello, hello..."
"Did you save us seats?"
"Of course, do I look like someone who'd take things without doing favors?"
Qin Hao laughed and pointed with his long fingers toward a corner. "Over there, those two seats. I checked, and the seats to their left and right are broken, so how about that spot?"
Jiang Wei glanced at Yi Ming, puzzled. "Broken?"
Qin Hao and Yi Ming exchanged a smile before Yi Ming calmly took Jiang Wei's arm and led her toward the back of the lecture hall. "What does it matter if they're broken or not? Let's hurry before the seats are taken..."
It wasn't until they were seated that Jiang Wei realized what was amiss.
Since the seats around them were broken, and they were in the last row of the tiered lecture hall, apart from the two of them, most others would sit some distance away. This created a small, private space for just the two of them.
This guy was always coming up with little schemes like this.
Jiang Wei smiled wryly. She looked ahead at the sea of chattering medical students, some of the girls occasionally turning to cast envious glances at Jiang Wei...
