THEIRS:A DEAL WITH THE MOON GODDESS

Chapter 4: Tears

Camilla p.o.v

The knock on the door never slowed down, the banging made my head ache and I feared Romano would still get it ripped off from its hitches.

Pain tugged at my heart at the unfortunate turn of fate I had just experienced, I was still dressed in the outfit I wore to the party.

Fatigue consumed me as I struggled between understanding what had just happened and deciding my fate. Removing my dress was the last thing on my mind.

"Open the door Camilla," I heard the raspy voice of my brother but I ignored. I really needed some time to myself and he wasn't understanding me.

Surprised when the second Mano brother burst into the crowd and proclaimed me as his mate. The crowd still left in shock,I used that opportunity to slide through them and then I bolted towards the door.

Tears gathered in my eyes as I ran towards the door, what I couldn't understand was the new consuming scent that was overriding my senses. I glanced back to see if either of the brothers were trailing behind but I didn't see anyone.

Rora stirred within me and the familiar excitement she felt before we met the first brother consumed me yet again. Confused at what was happening, I still didn't slow down. I glanced back once again which resulted in me bumping into a wall.

Not a wall, but a human actually, with such a strong physique, with his hand draped around my waist to prevent me from falling. I glanced up at the stranger and the moment our eyes met, I knew they were in trouble yet again.

"Mate," he declared, as I struggled to set myself free of his hold, but the moment his hand dropped to his side, I felt empty, like I was vulnerable.

The man before me was a literal Greek god, I might not know the other two brothers in there as a Mano blood, but I sure recognize this one. The Almighty Carlo Mano.

His chiseled features seemed like a work perfectly done by a skilled artist, his long hair, which fell at his back made him look almost girlish. His muscles. Oh that was the wall I thought I bumped into. The man was covered in tattoos. Save for his face.

I wondered if his butt was spared as well, I pressed my thigh together at my treacherous thought. Rora was leaping with joy within me and for a moment, I forgot about the turmoil of emotions stirring inside me.

Well not until I heard hurried footsteps towards me, that jolted me out of my thoughts and I glanced back hurriedly, Romano was marching towards me,with a mix of anger and worry clear on his features.

My flight instincts kicked in, as I pushed off from the hulk before me, he tried to grab my hand but luckily for me I dodge. As I ran towards the car, with a terrified look, I ordered the driver to take me away from the scene.

Locking myself away in the room was something I didn't think much about, knowing my brother and his prying ways, he would do anything to get me to speak to him.

"Open this door before I have it pulled down," the muffled sound of his voice, held threats that made me shiver. I stood up, ignoring the spin in my head,as I practically dragged myself to the door.

I wouldn't want to get transferred to another room when Romano destroys this door, I get attached to little things.

I twisted the key to the door and immediately, the door was pushed open, missing my face by only an inch. I turned towards my bed as Romano walked in, from the corner of my eyes, I saw him shoo his mate away.

He was no longer in his regal clothes for the party, just a casual T-shirt and shorts, which made me conclude that they might have run back to the pack house. Afterall I took the car back home.

A soft tug at my shoulder, got me crashing down to the floor as the tears I had held at bay for a few moments came rushing out. Romano crouched down to my level as he watched me cry. Patting my shoulder momentarily.

"Why?wh…why me," I stuttered, speaking in between tears.

He didn't say anything, as my gaze met his, his eyes were filled with pity and worry and it didn't make me feel better. "Why wou…the mo..on goddess," I tried speaking again. As I cleared my throat and continued.

"Why would she do this to me," I said, my words becoming clearer as my tears reduced.

"Three mates, Romano three," I said, pointing out three fingers. His calmness was supposed to soothe me but it wasn't. I needed him to speak.

Say anything, shout at me for being a disgrace to the Luca family , for being mated unfortunately to the people that loathed so much before his death.

Awkward silence sliced through the air, save for the soft hiccups I let out, Romano was now sitting on the floor, with his fingers still fondling mine, for a moment I thought he had gone berserk.

But then he finally spoke. "This is strange," he declared like I didn't know already.

In the whole of the werewolf community, this is the first time a woman is known to have been mated to three wolves. It is unusual.

I was seriously considering rejection. Its been centuries since anyone rejected a mate. Consequences for rejection was grave. Either leads to death or critical damnation.

"Rejection, rejection," I changed, my eyes lit up like I had found the perfect solution. But Romano didn't seem to share the same excitement as me.

He knew the gravity of what I was suggesting.

"You can't…" he started but a loud knock cut him off, out gaze snapped towards the door and Romano's jaw tightened. He hated interruption.

"Who the fuck is that?" He asked, releasing my fingers and clenching his fist almost immediately.

"Diego," the voice of his Beta rang out.

"What do you want?" he asked harshly.

"Camilla has guests," he replied.

His emphasis on the word guests made me guess who the 'guests' may be.

Romano's expression darkened as he pulled me behind him protectively. His posture was rigid, his Beta standing close at hand, ready for anything that might transpire. The tension was so thick that even the usual chatter of the pack grounds seemed to fade into silence. The three Mano brothers stood like statues, each radiating dominance and anger.

Adriano, the first to step forward, broke the silence, his voice cold and commanding. "I want to take my mate home. That is the custom." His piercing blue eyes were locked on me, filled with both longing and determination.

Before Romano could respond, Carlo scoffed, stepping forward with his imposing frame. His voice was deep and authoritative, the kind that made people stop and listen. "She isn't going anywhere with you, Adriano. If anyone is taking her home, it's me. I am the eldest, and I will not allow this farce to continue."

The third brother, Marcello, clenched his fists, his jaw tightening as he glared at his siblings. "Neither of you has the right to claim her. She is my mate too, and I will not stand by while you two fight over her like she's some prize to be won."

Romano let out a low growl, his anger barely contained. "Enough! This is not how things are done in my pack. Camilla is not some object to be fought over. If you want to take her, you will have to go through me first."

The brothers exchanged heated glares, their tempers barely restrained. It was clear none of them were willing to back down, and their dominant energies were causing the air to crackle with tension. Rora stirred within me, both excited and distressed by the situation.

"Romano, you don't understand," Adriano said, his voice softer now but no less determined. "The bond cannot be ignored. It's painful for all of us. The Moon Goddess chose her for us, and we intend to honor that."

"She didn't choose her for you alone," Carlo growled. "She chose her for us. But I refuse to share."

Marcello stepped forward, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Oh, that's rich coming from the man who has shared plenty of things before. This time, we don't have a choice."

Romano raised a hand, silencing them. "I don't care what your excuses are. Camilla is my sister, and I will not let her be dragged away just because you feel entitled to her. She's been through enough tonight."

I stood there, trembling as the brothers' intense gazes flickered to me. Their emotions, desire, anger, and possessiveness were overwhelming. I wanted to speak, to say something that might defuse the situation, but my voice refused to cooperate.

"She goes back home with me today," Carlo said, his voice one filled with threats. "Or else…" he trailed off.

"What do you mean by that," Niccolo said, "she belongs to us not just you.

"See, she doesn't even have a specific location to go to," Romano said, his voice reduced drastically.

He was losing the argument. If anyone finds out that he's refusing to release a union of fates mate, he would be castrated by the werewolf community.

"She would stay at the Lorenzo Palace, at the center of the four regions, that way, she won't return with either of us," Adriano said calmly.

"Get the three elders of truth," Romano ordered.

Fuck… It's settled then.
