Chapter 11: 11) Arrival at Loguetown
The sea breeze carried the salty scent of the ocean as the ship glided towards the looming island ahead. The morning sun bathed the waters in a golden glow, and seagulls cawed overhead, circling the approaching land. Standing at the ship's railing, Bulma squinted at the sight of the bustling port town ahead.
"That must be Loguetown," she declared, adjusting her cap as the wind blew her blue hair back. "The people at Cocoyasi Village said it wasn't far. Looks like we're finally here."
Goku, sitting cross-legged on the deck, perked up at her words. "Loguetown?" he repeated, tilting his head. "What's so special about it?"
Oolong, who was lying lazily near the mast, sat up with a knowing smirk. "Oh, you mean besides being the place where the Pirate King was born and executed?" He crossed his arms. "Yeah, no big deal."
Goku blinked. "Pirate King?"
Bulma sighed. "Seriously, Goku?" She placed a hand on her hip. "Gold Roger. The Gold Roger. The guy who started this whole One Piece treasure hunt?"
"Ohhh," Goku nodded as if that explained everything. "So, this place is like a famous landmark?"
Oolong scoffed. "More like a death trap for pirates. There's probably a Marine base here too."
Bulma nodded. "Exactly. Which is why we need to be careful."
She glanced at the ship, its mast now bare where Arlong's Jolly Roger once flew. One of her animated hair strands had torn it down before they set sail. It wasn't like they wanted to advertise their presence. Without a pirate flag, they wouldn't attract unnecessary attention—at least for now.
"So what's the plan?" Oolong asked, stretching.
Bulma rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "Well, first things first—we need supplies. Food, medicine, tools—everything we'll need before heading to the Grand Line."
"Do we need a map too?" Oolong asked.
Bulma snapped her fingers. "Exactly! A Grand Line map would be really useful. But…" She frowned. "It's not going to be easy to get one."
"Why not just buy one?" Goku asked.
Bulma looked at him and paused. Right. Of course he'd ask that. She sighed and rubbed her forehead.
"Goku… maps aren't like groceries. The Grand Line is the most dangerous sea in the world. The Marines guard information about it carefully. There's no way we'll just find one lying around in a store."
Goku scratched his head. "So we have to steal it?"
Bulma nodded. "Exactly."
Oolong gulped. "H-Hold on! Are you saying we're gonna break into a Marine base and steal their map?!"
Bulma grinned. "That's the idea."
Oolong waved his hands frantically. "Are you insane?! That's suicide! We're gonna get arrested before we even get to the Grand Line!"
Bulma rolled her eyes. "Relax, piggy. I said eventually. We can't just waltz in there right now. First, we gather information. Maybe we'll find another way to get our hands on a map without breaking into a heavily armed fortress."
Oolong still looked skeptical but didn't argue further.
Goku, meanwhile, was more focused on something else entirely. "What's a map?"
Bulma turned to him, mouth slightly open. Then she sighed again. "Right… You're Goku."
Goku grinned. "Yep!"
Shaking her head, Bulma walked over and patted his head as if explaining something to a child. "A map is… a piece of paper that shows you where everything is. Like roads, towns, islands… Without it, we'd be wandering around the sea aimlessly."
"Ohhh," Goku nodded, finally understanding. "So it's like a guide?"
"Exactly," Bulma said, crossing her arms.
Goku grinned. "Well, if we need it, let's just go get it."
Bulma smirked. "Glad we're on the same page."
Oolong, however, was still focused on something else. "Alright, fine, we need supplies. So what's our plan? We just go shopping?"
Bulma nodded. "Yes. Goku and I will handle the shopping and gather information on the map."
Oolong's ears perked up. "Oh? And me?"
"You'll stay here and guard the ship."
Oolong's expression soured. "What?! No way! I wanna go explore too!"
Bulma narrowed her eyes. "Oh yeah? And do what exactly?"
Oolong grinned sheepishly. "You know… take in the sights… maybe talk to some pretty ladies…"
Bulma's eye twitched. "That is exactly why you're staying on the ship."
"Aw, come on, Bulma!" Oolong whined. "I swear, I won't cause any trouble!"
Bulma gave him a deadpan look. "Yeah, sure. Because last time I trusted you in a town, you totally didn't get us kicked out for peeping in the women's bathhouse."
Oolong laughed nervously. "T-That was a misunderstanding!"
"Oh really?" Bulma crossed her arms. "What part of 'shapeshifting into a towel rack to spy on naked women' was a misunderstanding?"
Goku burst out laughing. "That's pretty clever!"
Bulma turned to him, exasperated. "Don't encourage him, Goku!"
Oolong huffed. "Alright, alright, I get it! No fun for me…" He crossed his arms and muttered under his breath. "I'm still not happy about this."
Bulma ignored him and turned back to the island. "Alright then. Goku and I will head into town, stock up on supplies, and see what we can find out about the Grand Line."
Goku pumped his fists. "Sounds good to me!"
Oolong sighed, finally giving in. "Fine. But if someone tries to steal our ship, don't come crying to me."
Bulma smirked. "If anyone's dumb enough to try, you handle it."
Oolong slumped in defeat. "Great…"
As their ship approached the docks of Loguetown, Bulma took a deep breath. Their adventure was just beginning.

The ship gently rocked as it docked at Loguetown's harbor, its wooden hull scraping against the pier. The port was bustling with activity—merchants hauling crates, sailors repairing ships, and townsfolk chatting as they moved through the marketplace. The scent of salt and fresh seafood filled the air.
Bulma stretched her arms and sighed. "Finally! Solid ground."
Goku hopped off the ship with an excited grin. "Whoa! This place is huge!" His eyes darted around, taking in the towering buildings, the crowded streets, and the distant Marine base standing like a looming fortress.
Oolong, still sulking, stood at the edge of the ship, arms crossed. "Yeah, yeah, you two go have your fun. I'll just sit here and guard the ship." His voice dripped with sarcasm.
Bulma smirked. "Glad you understand."
Oolong scowled. "You better bring back something good for me."
"Yeah, yeah," Bulma waved him off as she turned to Goku. "Alright, let's get moving. First stop—"
GRRROOOOOWL!
Bulma froze mid-sentence. The long, rumbling growl echoed through the docks, making a few passersby glance over. She turned slowly to see Goku rubbing his stomach, grinning sheepishly.
"Heh. Guess I'm hungry."
Bulma sighed, pressing a hand to her temple. "Of course you are."
Goku chuckled. "We did travel a long way! And travelling made me really hungry too!"
Bulma rolled her eyes, but a small smile tugged at her lips. "Alright, alright. Food first, then shopping."
Goku pumped his fist. "Yes! Let's go!"
After 5 minutes.....
The streets of Loguetown were lively, filled with merchants shouting about their goods, citizens bartering, and groups of Marines patrolling. Goku's eyes darted from one food stall to another, mesmerized by the skewers of grilled meat, freshly baked bread, and plates of seafood on display.
Bulma grabbed his wrist before he could wander off. "No street food. We're going to a proper restaurant."
Goku pouted. "But that grilled squid smelled so good!"
Bulma ignored his whining as they made their way to a small but well-kept restaurant near the center of town. A sign outside read The Golden Fork.
"Looks fancy," Bulma noted.
Goku didn't care about the name—he only cared about the food. "Let's go in already!"
The two entered, immediately hit with the warm aroma of roasted meat and spices. The place was moderately crowded, with groups of sailors, merchants, and even a few Marines enjoying their meals. A waiter, dressed in a neat white apron, greeted them at the door.
"Welcome! Table for two?"
Bulma nodded. "Yeah. And bring a lot of food."
The waiter chuckled. "We'll do our best. Follow me."
They were led to a wooden table near the window. As soon as they sat down, Goku leaned forward eagerly. "Bulma, what should we order?"
Bulma opened the menu and glanced through it. "Let's see… grilled steak, roast chicken, seafood rice, fried fish—"
Goku's eyes sparkled. "Let's get all of it."
Bulma snapped the menu shut. "No."
"Why not?"
"Because I am not spending all our money on your bottomless pit of a stomach!"
Goku pouted but didn't argue. He had lost enough battles with Bulma to know when to give in. "Alright, then let's get the steak, seafood rice, and fried fish."
Bulma sighed. "Fine." She waved down the waiter. "We'll have the steak, seafood rice, fried fish, and two drinks."
The waiter jotted it down. "Coming right up!"
As he left, Goku leaned back in his chair. "Man, this town is really different from the others."
Bulma nodded. "Of course. It's Loguetown—one of the most important cities in the East Blue." She tapped a finger on the table. "It's kind of weird being in the same place where the Pirate King was executed, huh?"
Goku tilted his head. "Yeah. But, why'd he let himself get caught?"
Bulma frowned. "Nobody knows for sure. Some say he wanted to be executed. Others think he was just reckless and got caught off guard."
Goku scratched his chin. "Weird."
Bulma smirked. "Well, one thing's for sure—his execution started the great pirate era."
Goku grinned. "And now we're pirates!"
Bulma laughed. "Yeah. Never thought I'd be saying that."
Just then, the waiter returned, balancing a tray with their food. "Here you go—one grilled steak, seafood rice, and fried fish." He placed the plates in front of them, the scent making Goku's stomach rumble again.
Goku grabbed his fork. "Alright! Let's eat!"
Bulma barely had time to pick up her own utensils before Goku started devouring his food at lightning speed. His steak disappeared within seconds, followed by a huge bite of rice.
"Goku! Slow down!"
Goku barely paused, his mouth still full. "Can't—too good—!"
Bulma groaned. "You're impossible." She took a bite of her fish and hummed in approval. "At least the food's good."
The restaurant buzzed with chatter as people enjoyed their meals, but Bulma couldn't help but notice a group of Marines seated at the far end of the room. They weren't paying attention to them, but their presence was a reminder that they had to be careful.
"So, what's the plan after this?" Goku asked, his mouth still half full.
Bulma sipped her drink. "We get supplies first. Food, medicine, and tools. Then we gather info on where to find a Grand Line map."
Goku nodded. "Think it'll be easy?"
Bulma smirked. "Nothing's ever easy with us, Goku."
He grinned. "Yeah, that's true."
As they ate, the door to the restaurant suddenly swung open, and a group of rowdy pirates entered. The room quieted slightly as they stomped toward a table, loudly ordering drinks and food.
Bulma tensed. Great. Just what we needed—attention-grabbing idiots.
Goku, however, just kept eating, oblivious to the shift in atmosphere.
Bulma glanced back at the Marines. They hadn't reacted yet, but if those pirates caused a scene, things could get messy fast.
She sighed. "Let's finish up and get out of here before trouble starts."
Goku nodded, stuffing the last piece of fish into his mouth. "Mmmph—good idea."
Bulma rolled her eyes but smiled. "Alright. Let's pay and go shopping."
