Chapter 468 - 468: The Beautiful Lady with the Surname Luo
Chapter 468: Chapter 468: The Beautiful Lady with the Surname Luo
The weekend was quickly approaching again.
Because Luo Ziling had a treatment session for Li Haiyang on Saturday morning, he and Yang Qingyin agreed to visit the Great Wall on Sunday instead.
Yang Qingyin had originally planned for Sunday; she had considered Luo Ziling’s schedule well in advance, knowing that he had to treat Li Haiyang on Saturday.
That weekend, the three guys in the dormitory, as usual, slept in late. Luo Ziling stuck to his routine and got up early for his morning exercise.
There were even fewer people doing morning exercise on the playground on Saturday, and Luo Ziling didn’t pay attention to who was there.
Luo Ziling’s daily morning exercise routine began with running twenty laps around the track, followed by using the equipment on the playground for other exercises. Then, he would retreat to the nearby woods to practice his punches, honing his martial arts skills for about forty minutes to an hour.
Because Luo Ziling always wore a pair of large glasses during his training, and his not-so-short hair hung down, none of the other male and female students exercising in the morning recognized him as they passed by.
However, today brought an unexpected encounter. After finishing his run and moving to a nearby grove for exercise, he ran into a girl there practicing her leg stretches.
Using his excellent bouncing ability, Luo Ziling ran up a tree and swung around like a monkey, before leaping down. When he jumped down, he startled the woman walking into the grove, who was preparing to use a slanted tree branch for leg stretches.
Seeing Luo Ziling jump down from the tree like a monkey without even using his hands, the startled girl took a few serious looks before asking uncertainly, “Are you Luo Ziling?”
“You are…” It was actually a very beautiful girl.
Dressed in loose athletic wear, it was hard to tell if her figure was shapely, but one thing was clear: she was quite tall. Her simple ponytail looked very refreshing, and she wore a headband that clearly showcased her fresh and beautiful face.
Encountering such a pretty young girl during his morning exercise, Luo Ziling was momentarily stunned.
What was even more unexpected was that she recognized him.
“Do we know each other?” Luo Ziling looked at her with some confusion, feeling that she looked familiar but unable to remember who she was. After scrutinizing her for a few moments, he suddenly realized, “If I’m not mistaken, you’re the beautiful hostess who hugged me on stage last time, right?”
“You really are Luo Ziling. Why are you dressed like this?” The girl didn’t deny it but instead stepped closer to Luo Ziling with surprise, looked him up and down, and then burst into laughter: “I almost didn’t recognize you.”
“I didn’t recognize it was you, senior,” Luo Ziling thought, still quite surprised.
Who would have thought he would encounter one of the hostesses from the welcome party during his morning exercise.
However, Luo Ziling couldn’t be sure what her name was, as he had confused their names.
All he knew was that one of the two female hosts was named Dai Shulan and the other Luo Yuqing. Luo Ziling hadn’t figured out which was Luo Yuqing and which was Dai Shulan. The girl who had hugged him seemed to be Luo Yuqing, a piece of information he knew thanks to Qingyin’s reminder, but he still couldn’t match the name to the face because he had forgotten what the woman who hugged him looked like.
On stage, due to nervousness, he hadn’t paid particular attention to the girl’s appearance.
The only way he distinguished between the two of them was by their clothes, and once they changed out of their clothes, he couldn’t remember anymore.
You really can’t say, but Luo Ziling sometimes had a pretty bad memory, especially when it came to remembering people’s features—it was atrocious. If these two women knew he had confused them, they might have come after him together.
“Why didn’t you recognize me? I didn’t even dress up, unlike you, who act as if you’re afraid of being recognized.” The pretty girl still surveyed Luo Ziling from head to toe, her face brimming with a captivating smile, “Is it because I’m too ugly, and you couldn’t recognize me, junior?”
“No,” Luo Ziling quickly shook his head, “you’re too beautiful. To use my dorm mates’ words, you blinded my golden eyes.”
The pretty girl was amused by Luo Ziling’s comment and burst into laughter. After she stopped laughing, she generously extended her hand, “Let’s formally meet. I’m Luo Yuqing, a third-year student in the Chinese department at the College of Humanities. I remember the handsome junior who hugged me on stage last time, who also has great martial arts skills. If I hadn’t seen you jumping up and down that tree today, I wouldn’t have dared to recognize you.”
After shaking hands with her, Luo Ziling said rather embarrassingly, “As you know, there have been too many forum posts about me on the campus network recently, and it’s been annoying, so I’m keeping a low profile.”
“Looks like it’s tough being famous, huh? Who made you so popular, overshadowing all those previous campus hotties,” Luo Yuqing giggled before asking Luo Ziling, “By the way, did your academic advisor ever mention anything about you joining the student council?”
Hearing Luo Yuqing’s question, Luo Ziling suddenly realized that this beauty was the president of Yan University’s student council.
The president of the student council at a prestigious university is always a remarkable person, something Luo Ziling knew.
Yang Qingyin had also mentioned that Luo Yuqing was no ordinary person.
“It looks like you’ve had quite the experience, senior,” Luo Ziling replied with a smile.
“Maybe in a while, there will be forum posts about us,” Luo Yuqing said, pursing her lips in a smile, “Many people are just curious about these things.”
“It seems I should get going, or I’ll tarnish your reputation,” Luo Ziling said, preparing to leave.
“Hey, you haven’t answered my previous question yet!” Luo Yuqing called out to him as he was about to walk away.
The guy actually didn’t respond to her latter question.
Luo Ziling smiled sheepishly, “I’m not really thinking of joining any clubs at the moment, as I have a lot on my mind these days and can’t focus on other things. So I’ll think about joining the student council and get back to you when I’m ready. Is that okay?”
This took Luo Yuqing by surprise; she did not expect someone to refuse an invitation to join the student council.
However, having heard what Luo Ziling said, she believed that the young man had his difficulties and didn’t press the issue: “Alright then, when you’re ready, you can contact me directly.”
“Sure,” Luo Ziling smiled and then was ready to take his leave.
This surprised Luo Yuqing again. After what she said, most guys would definitely ask for her contact information immediately, but unexpectedly, Luo Ziling did not ask and was ready to go. “You’re not asking for my contact information; how will you reach me when it’s time? It seems like you’re rejecting me right now,” she said with a playful smile.
“Uh,” Luo Ziling slapped his forehead and gave Luo Yuqing his mobile number, then asked for hers.
Luo Yuqing took out her phone, recorded Luo Ziling’s number, then said playfully, “We have the same surname; maybe we were from the same family hundreds of years ago.”
Those words instantly made Luo Ziling feel odd inside—could this woman, who shared his surname, have some connection with his ancestors?
