Chapter 273 - 273: Someone Takes Revenge
Chapter 273: Chapter 273: Someone Takes Revenge
The next day, Luo Ziling was awakened from his sleep by a phone call.
Having gone to bed late last night and taken a long time to fall asleep, he didn’t get up for morning exercise and had planned to sleep in.
The moment his phone rang, Luo Ziling jolted awake. In these critical times, any phone call could be very important, so he immediately grabbed his phone. To his surprise, the caller was Lin Lan.
“I’m coming to pick you up, wait for me at the usual place in half an hour. The license plate is Capital 5213,” Lin Lan said, and before Luo Ziling had a chance to respond, she hung up.
Still groggy from sleep, Luo Ziling was stunned for quite a while before he realized what had happened.
“This woman, why is she still like this?” he felt a bit annoyed.
Is it going to kill her not to play it cool?
She was coming to take him for a treatment, yet she spoke as if she was giving him orders. However, after only a moment of irritation, Luo Ziling decided to follow Lin Lan’s instructions because he wanted to meet Li Haiyang and get his help.
But what puzzled him was why Lin Lan would come to pick him up today.
Before the last treatment, he had told Lin Lan that he was busy during the National Day holiday and didn’t have time to treat Li Haiyang.
Li Haiyang had also said he was busy and would pause the treatments for a couple of days.
Could it be that they had discovered his whereabouts and knew he was back at school, so they wanted him to resume the treatments?
In any case, Luo Ziling decided he would still go treat Li Haiyang.
So, he immediately got out of bed, spent five minutes dressing up and washing, prepared his treatment equipment, and then ran out of the dormitory.
There was no time for breakfast at the cafeteria; he would just grab something from the school gate.
What Luo Ziling didn’t know was that as soon as he had dashed down from his apartment building, someone had spotted him.
Someone immediately reported his whereabouts to the others.
When Luo Ziling arrived at the school gate, only eighteen minutes had passed since Lin Lan’s call, and he breathed a little sigh of relief.
The xiaolongbao at a store by the gate were exceptionally tasty; Luo Ziling had fallen for them after trying them once.
If he counted today, this would be the fourth time he’d bought xiaolongbao from this snack shop.
During the National Day holiday, not many people were in the school, but there was still a fair queue for xiaolongbao.
Luo Ziling waited for a few minutes before it was his turn.
But unexpectedly, just as he had paid and was about to leave with twenty xiaolongbao, intending to devour them while waiting for Lin Lan, someone suddenly ran towards him rapidly and slammed hard into him.
This person was running quickly and was being chased by another, who was shouting loudly.
Although Luo Ziling had immediately braced himself and used his left shoulder to bump against the other person, two of the xiaolongbao he was holding still fell out, much to his distress.
But as he was feeling sorry for the two xiaolongbao on the ground, the young man he had bumped just two steps away walked over, cursing and pointing arrogantly at Luo Ziling with a finger, shouting angrily, “Hey, kid, don’t you watch where you’re going?”
Luo Ziling was taken aback and didn’t quite understand what was happening.
This guy is a thief, isn’t he? Why didn’t he keep running? He dares to start trouble even after I bumped into him.
Looking around briefly, the loud pursuer from before had disappeared without a trace, and several strong-looking men were closing in from all sides.
But Luo Ziling wasn’t afraid; frowning, he sharply questioned the arrogant young man, “You ran into me. I’m already being nice not getting angry at you. What gives you the right to curse at me?”
“Fuck,” the young guy was amused, “Who the hell do you think you are, daring to demand an apology from us? Believe it or not, we’ll cripple you.”
“I swear I just heard someone call you a thief, and you’re still acting so arrogant?” Luo Ziling couldn’t help but laugh out of anger. To express his dissatisfaction, he grabbed two xiaolongbao and stuffed them into his mouth, chewing vigorously.
The broth inside the xiaolongbao squirted out as he chewed, landing right on the young guy’s forearm.
The soup was scalding, and the young guy couldn’t help crying out in pain, becoming even more furious.
“Motherfucker, daring to play tricks on us.” The young guy got angry, rolled up his sleeves preparing to fight, and called to the people gathering around, “Brothers, let’s cripple him for being so arrogant.”
Seeing the young guy like this, and so many people coming over, Luo Ziling knew that these people were here to deal with him.
The incident just now was deliberately planned by them, and it wasn’t because of an accident that they hit him.
Realizing this, rage suddenly surged within Luo Ziling.
The people who had been queuing to buy buns were scared away, and the originally bustling snack stall was suddenly devoid of customers.
Of course, the owner of the snack stall was frightened and hid inside to quietly call the police.
At that moment, a car approached from a distance – a black Toyota Camry. The vehicle stopped near the snack stall.
But the person inside didn’t get out, just rolled down the window and watched coldly from the car.
Those who had gathered around were all glancing over at the car, and Luo Ziling saw them communicating with glances and hand signals.
This further convinced him that this was a premeditated act of revenge.
As for who might be seeking revenge or plotting against him, Luo Ziling had some ideas.
He was most suspicious of the Yang Family, but he didn’t want to believe that they would resort to such lowly tactics.
“Attack together, hit him hard, beat him to death,” a burly man who looked like a small-time leader issued a low command before ordering his comrades to take action.
Seeing the group coming at him from several directions, Luo Ziling quickly stepped back, bracing himself against a wall.
The back is the most vulnerable direction for defense, and Luo Ziling certainly didn’t want his enemies coming at him from all sides.
With a “bang,” it was Luo Ziling who struck first. He kicked the young guy he had intentionally splashed with soup, sending him flying.
He kicked with so much force that the man went airborne, crashing into another person.
The other person, taken aback, hurriedly reached out to catch him.
But they hadn’t anticipated Luo Ziling’s strength – failing to catch the flying man, they both tumbled to the ground.
“This kid’s competent, everyone be careful,” the leader reminded them.
The group slowed down their approach, coming towards him more cautiously.
At that moment, a Hummer driving slowly in the distance suddenly picked up speed.
With a loud “bang,” the Hummer rammed the Toyota parked at the side of the road, pushing it a good distance away.
The light-bodied Japanese car had its rear end smashed in by the Hummer, and the right taillight shattered and fell to the ground.
Debris and shards of glass scattered everywhere.
The massive collision sound stunned everyone.
