Chapter 1814: This Kid Really Likes to Meddle
When they woke up, both Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin were in a good mood.
But after dealing with Xiaoli's matter, their moods worsened significantly.
Luo Ziling's impression of Yang Yunlin grew even worse, while Yang Qingyin's hatred for her father also increased.
Yang Qingyin knew that Xiaoli wouldn't have told her about such a bad thing unless she was extremely provoked. She also realized that Yang Yunlin personally calling Xiaoli and scolding her for betraying her employer for personal gain was nothing short of a disaster for Xiaoli.
Xiaoli's emotions, however, seemed unaffected. After breakfast and going out, she dutifully performed her duties.
She and the three bodyguards secretly following Luo Ziling arranged the security details and moved as Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin moved.
Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin didn't have a detailed plan; as Yang Qingyin put it, the West Lake in spring is like paradise on earth, and everywhere they walked was beautiful scenery.
"Let's just walk around and see where we end up!" Yang Qingyin suggested as they exited the hotel.
"Alright," Luo Ziling didn't object and agreed to Yang Qingyin's request, "So should we go left or right?"
To the left of the hotel was the direction of Prince Qian's Temple, Orioles Singing in the Willows, Leifeng Pagoda, and Prince Bay Park, while to the right were the directions of Broken Bridge, Bai Causeway, Solitary Mountain, and Baoshi Mountain.
"You decide, but this season, we definitely have to walk along the Su Causeway to see the beautiful scenery of Spring Dawn on the Su Causeway."
"Whether we go left or right, we can make our way to the Su Causeway." Luo Ziling pointed towards the direction of Broken Bridge, "We walked through Orioles Singing in the Willows last night, so let's not repeat our path today. Let's head towards Broken Bridge, see what the Broken Bridge where Xu Xian and Bai Suzhen met looks like, walk along Bai Causeway, and after lunch, visit Yuewang Temple and then Su Causeway. If we still have energy in the afternoon, let's go to Jingci Temple and Leifeng Pagoda!"
"I'll go with your plan." Yang Qingyin didn't refuse either.
In fact, before coming, she had done quite a bit of planning, but she ultimately found that when visiting Qiantang, plans weren't really necessary at all. You could wander around and never tire of seeing the same places. So, she threw away her plans. Luo Ziling shared her thought process, which made her very happy. So, as soon as they left the hotel, she took Luo Ziling's arm and headed in the direction of the Broken Bridge.
Both of them dressed up slightly today, and with the cover of glasses and hats, no one could recognize them.
With Xiaoli and three other protectors behind them, Luo Ziling had no worries about being followed.
Yesterday, when they arrived from Yanjing, it was sunny weather. By the time they reached Qiantang, it was dark and they couldn't tell how the weather was.
A sunny day isn't actually good weather for sightseeing at West Lake. Overcast or light rainy days have the best atmosphere.
Everything seemed to resonate with Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin, for as they just stepped out of the hotel, the original gloomy weather began to drizzle. After walking for a bit, the lake was shrouded in mist.
"Looks like we're really lucky to catch Scholar Su's scene of 'Rain brings special charm to misty mountain colors.' We must take a few photos; even if we don't look quite like our usual selves, it's worth keeping as a memory." Luo Ziling said, pulling out his phone to take pictures of Yang Qingyin.
Yang Qingyin didn't refuse and accepted it openly.
She even called Xiaoli over to help them take some group photos.
When taking group photos, she stayed close to Luo Ziling, and there was even one shot where, in front of many tourists, she wrapped her arms around Luo Ziling's neck as if to kiss him on the cheek. After the photos were taken, she happily checked them on her phone.
However, neither of them posted the photos on their social media circles.
"There are so many tourists," they soon realized something was off, "Even the rain hasn't dampened the enthusiasm of the tourists; the number of visitors is increasing. Luo Ziling couldn't help but remark, "If it were like this in ancient times, even if Xu Xian and Lady Bai met on the Broken Bridge, they would be swept away by the crowd and couldn't have possibly had that love-at-first-sight moment."
"Lady Bai and Xu Xian are just folk tales; historically, there weren't such people. You needn't worry about them meeting or not," Yang Qingyin laughed and, curious, asked Luo Ziling, "How do you know it was love at first sight for them?"
"I don't know if it was really love at first sight for them, but I do know that some two people truly had love at first sight!"
Yang Qingyin's pretty face blushed instantly, but she still tilted her head and asked Luo Ziling, "Which two people are you referring to?"
"By Lake Wuming, someone jumped out from the bushes, startling a pretty girl surnamed Yang, and then their eyes met. Does that count as love at first sight?" Luo Ziling smiled at Yang Qingyin, "You tell me the answer!"
"Hmph, I'm not telling!" Yang Qingyin hugged Luo Ziling's arm and cooed, "I've always wondered if someone did that on purpose?"
"No, it wasn't on purpose at all—just happened to pass by, saw nobody, so just jumped over. Who knew you'd be passing by. Fate is just that magical."
As the two reminisced affectionately about the moment they first met, a commotion suddenly came from the side.
It was a sanitation worker by West Lake trying to persuade tourists not to litter, which angered one tourist.
That tourist became furious and started yelling at the sanitation worker who tried to intervene: "I just dropped it, it wasn't intentional littering. So what if I did litter? Without trash, what use are you people? If no one littered, you'd be jobless and without a salary."
This bizarre logic enraged many, but despite the large crowd, no one dared to step forward to defend the sanitation worker.
The reason being that the angry person was quite large and very wild-looking, and he had several equally burly companions, making them look very intimidating.
The sanitation worker didn't dare to speak further; he picked up his broom, ready to sweep away the pile of trash left by those tourists.
But unexpectedly, those tourists who were cursing then took out their anger on the sanitation worker, accusing him of deliberately sweeping the trash onto them.
The fifty-something male sanitation worker finally couldn't hold back after silently enduring the scolding: "It's your trash, not someone else's. If you step aside, I wouldn't get anything on you while cleaning."
"To hell with you," the big young man got even angrier when the sanitation worker dared to talk back and kicked the broom away, violently pushing the sanitation worker.
Fortunately, a quick-witted young man stepped forward and caught the sanitation worker, preventing him from falling.
The young man who helped the sanitation worker then looked coldly at these rowdy tourists and said sternly, "You have no manners, littering and hitting people—don't you think that's too much?"
It was Luo Ziling who stepped in to help; he couldn't bear to watch and stood up to challenge those rude tourists.
Those tourists were overjoyed when they saw Luo Ziling stand up for the sanitation worker.
This guy really likes to meddle in others' business!
