The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 035: Concern

Under everyone's gaze and curiosity, Cao Jianhui draped his arm over Luo Ziling's shoulder and swaggered out of the school through the west gate.

They found a fairly upscale Chinese restaurant and reserved a quite delicate private room. All the dishes were chosen by Cao Jianhui himself, and for four people, he actually ordered more than a dozen dishes, none of which were cheap.

For dinner, Cao Jianhui ordered a case of beer, and he urged Luo Ziling and the other two buddies to let loose and drink.

In his words, today was the day to raise one's eyebrows and sigh in relief, so they definitely had to celebrate properly.

Before sitting down, Cao Jianhui made another call to his brother, Cao Jianguang, to follow up on how today's matter was being handled.

Cao Jianguang said that he had already called Yan University's vice-chancellor in charge of security and logistics, who promised to handle the matter properly.

Hearing what Cao Jianguang had to say, Cao Jianhui was no longer worried and even told Luo Ziling, Li Fuming, and Wu Longjiang not to worry.

So, the four of them drank freely, ending up consuming two cases of forty-eight bottles of beer.

Luo Ziling actually had a good capacity for alcohol, which was related to his innate physique. After turning fifteen, he would often accompany his grandfather in drinking, and they drank homemade rice wine. By the age of eighteen, he could drink four or five jin of homemade rice wine.

The Luo family originally came from Yuezhou City in Jiangnan Province, where the Shaoxing rice wine produced there is world-famous, and almost no one there doesn't enjoy drinking.

However, the tolerance levels of Cao Jianhui, Li Fuming, and Wu Longjiang were obviously not as good, and by the time they left the restaurant, they were all staggering, whereas Luo Ziling was fine.

"Boss, we're getting more and more impressed with you," Cao Jianhui slung his arm over Luo Ziling's shoulders, belching from the alcohol and speaking unclearly, "You… you're good at fighting, and… and so good at drinking, and you're good-looking, too. I can't compare with you. If… if your grades were also good, then you'd be the dream guy for all… for all the girls. Hahaha!"

After they stepped out of the restaurant, and a gust of cold wind hit them, Li Fuming couldn't help but throw up a bit, but he didn't seem to care and excitedly came to hook Luo Ziling's shoulder, "Boss, how… how come you can fight so well? It seems your… grandfather is a martial arts master."

Luo Ziling pushed him away with a touch of disgust, but Li Fuming didn't mind and even made a punching gesture, laughing as he came over again to pull on Luo Ziling's arm, "Boss, teach us martial arts, make us into martial arts masters too, so nobody can bully us."

"Bring the tuition fee, a hundred thousand per person," Luo Ziling held out his hand, "Not a penny less, or no lessons."

"Wow, Boss, you're so heartless. Where would we get a hundred thousand yuan? How about ten yuan?" Li Fuming chuckled as he pulled out a ten-yuan note from his wallet and stuffed it into Luo Ziling's hand.

Luo Ziling kicked him away without any good humor and barked, "Scram!"

Kicked by Luo Ziling, Li Fuming was unfazed and put the ten yuan solemnly back in his pocket, "That's enough to buy breakfast for four people tomorrow."

"Then get up early tomorrow and help us buy breakfast," Luo Ziling said with a smile, "I want xiao long bao, twenty of them. Ask the others what they want, but make sure mine are taken care of first."

"We'll talk about it when we get up tomorrow," Li Fuming burped from the alcohol, then retched again, "Ugh, what were we just talking about?"

He actually forgot what they were just discussing and ended up getting another kick from Luo Ziling.

The group stumbled back to the school.

After returning to the dormitory, Cao Jianhui, Li Fuming, and Wu Longjiang all collapsed onto their beds without even washing their faces and went to sleep.

Cao Jianhui and Li Fuming squeezed onto the same bed, while Wu Longjiang climbed onto the upper bunk with the help of Luo Ziling.

But Luo Ziling wasn't sleepy; he lay in bed checking his phone.

Holding his phone, he was suddenly in the mood to see if there were any forum posts about him on the school's bulletin board.

Under the painfully detailed guidance of Cao Jianhui, Luo Ziling had learned how to go online and how to access the university forum.

As soon as he opened the forum's webpage, he was startled to find that there were several posts all about him.

The incident of him throwing those martial arts team students into the pool today was also widely reported, with all sorts of comments. Most of them were in awe of his extraordinary performance, with many clamoring to learn martial arts from him.

There was also a poll related to him.

"Do you think Luo Ziling, a freshman from Clinical Medicine Class 1, could be the next 'campus hunk'?" Under the poll were three options: "Yes," "No," and "None of my business."

Only after voting could you see the results, and Luo Ziling, driven by curiosity, clicked on the "Yes" option.

After submitting his vote, he finally saw the results. The long blue bar under the "Yes" option and the seventy-eight percent approval rate made him burst with joy.

"Looks like this young master is quite popular," he couldn't help but laugh arrogantly.

He clicked into every post related to him to have a look. Most of them discussed the events of the evening, and a few were trying to 'human flesh search' him – based on the nicknames of the posters, they seemed to be girls.

"Hehe, the university experience is really not bad," were Luo Ziling's thoughts as he succumbed to sleepiness and drifted off to sleep.

The next day during military training, both Luo Ziling and Cao Jianhui were called in for an inquiry by the university security department, but they weren't giving them a hard time, just politely inquiring about the situation.

Of course, Cao Jianhui placed all the blame on those guys, saying that they were the ones who came looking for trouble, trying to get revenge.

After coming out from the security department, Cao Jianhui patted his chest and guaranteed that as long as his brother stepped in to intercede, the school definitely wouldn't take any action against them.

Although Luo Ziling was a bit worried, in the end, he trusted Cao Jianhui's words.

Just as he stepped out of security, Luo Ziling got a call from Li Jing.

As soon as the call connected, Li Jing asked with concern, "Hey, handsome, I just saw a message in someone's social media that said you were in a fight. Is it true? Are you hurt?"

Li Jing's concern warmed Luo Ziling's heart, and he replied a bit sheepishly, "I had a conflict with a few classmates, but it was nothing serious. Thanks for your concern, Mrs. Li, I didn't get hurt at all!"

"That's good to hear," Li Jing obviously breathed a sigh of relief, but she still asked about the details of what happened with Luo Ziling very earnestly.

Luo Ziling was grateful for Li Jing's concern and briefly explained the situation.

After hearing Luo Ziling's account, Li Jing laughed and said, "Handsome, you are really impressive. I never would've guessed you're a martial arts expert. From now on, be careful and try to avoid fights as much as possible to keep out of trouble."

"I understand, thanks for your concern, Mrs. Li."

Luo Ziling felt even warmer in his heart.

But what he could never have imagined was that while Li Jing made this call, there was another woman standing beside her.

Li Jing's phone was on speaker, so their entire conversation was overheard by this woman.

What he even less expected was that after today, no one brought up the incident again, and those who had clashed with him, one way or another, all ended up in misfortune.
