Chapter 53: Duan Feihan’s Nightmare
Editor: Henyee Translations
For a long period of time after that person who died to save her, Bai Chuwei would have nightmares every single night when she slept. Her pillow would always be drenched in tears the moment she opened her eyes. Therefore, Bai Chuwei simply did not sleep after that.
Not sleeping made no difference to her.
But Bai Chuwei was always interested in other people’s dreams. She used to wander in Snowball’s dreams earlier, but that fat hamster only indulged in eating delicacies even in his dreams.
She could always enter dreams unimpeded, but for some reason, she was blocked by Duan Feihan’s mind.
However, that only further aroused her interest and she was more determined to take a walk into his dreams tonight.
Normally, Duan Feihan had an extremely busy schedule and post that, he took care of his seriously ill father when he returned from work. As a result, he usually slept late at night.
Now that old man Duan had recovered slightly after eating the medicine, Duan Feihan returned to his room early to rest.
Bai Chuwei had spent a great deal of effort to enter Duan Feihan’s dream tonight. Inside his dream, the skies were grey and a cold wind was blowing.
Only a beautiful villa could be seen and when Bai Chuwei entered the hall, she saw a delicate little boy dressed in a child-sized suit. There was a serious expression on his immature-looking face as he played Sudoku.
Bai Chuwei had seen the four-year-old Duan Feihan in the past, and she had to say that the mini version of him was really cute.
As it turned out, he still had his childlike innocence. To think that he was dreaming of playing games as a child?
“Hanhan—Hanhan—”
There was a woman calling his name from the second floor.
When the cute little kid heard someone calling for him, his face which had lacked vigor till now, revealed a tiny smile. “Mom, I’m coming.”
The young Duan Feihan put down the game and walked towards the second floor, not seeing Bai Chuwei who stood there.
Bai Chuwei slowly recalled the details of the original novel.
As the ultimate boss in the latter part of the novel, there was a description about his nightmare where his mother died when he was a child.
Tsk. When someone had such a recurring nightmare every night, how could they possibly not become twisted when they grew up?
Bai Chuwei suddenly forgot that she came here to be an on-looker and she chased him to the second floor immediately.
When she arrived there, she saw a beautiful woman standing at the balcony with a warm smile. All of a sudden, she fell down from the balcony.
The young Duan Feihan stiffened and his blood ran cold, as if he had been struck with a petrification curse.
Suddenly, he entered a warm embrace which had a faint medicinal fragrance. A pair of beautiful hands lightly covered his eyes. The four-year-old Duan Feihan’s long eyelashes fluttered with unease. It was like a little brush tickling Bai Chuwei’s palms.
Bai Chuwei’s voice was extremely gentle as she said, “Hanhan, this is just a dream. Hurry and wake up.”
She knew the feeling of having nightmares. Scenes which a person wanted to forget would repeatedly appear before their eyes. It was similar to a knife that continuously stabbed into their wounds!
The room was extremely quiet and all of a sudden, the handsome man lying on the bed opened his eyes. His slender fingers pressed on his forehead and cold sweat trickled down his body.
Duan Feihan gasped and turned on the bedside lamp while he sat up.
Dark blue pajamas loosely hung on his body, revealing his sweaty collarbone. He lowered his head and fell into deep thoughts.
He had seen the same dream again. He dreamt about the horrible sight where his mother fell to her death when he was a child.
This nightmare had accompanied him for nearly two decades now and every single time, it would make him feel powerless and heartbroken.
However, there was something different this time round. Someone new had appeared.
Bai Chuwei came in his dream and hugged him.
The overwhelming feeling of despair was replaced by warmth that seemed to have saved his whole world.
