chapter 247
25. Visitors from the Palace
Inside the room, Celicia looked at the large hole left by Mu En flying out, taking a deep breath to gradually calm her racing heart.
With her strong emotional control, the fiery blush on her face slowly faded, and her expression quickly returned to its usual coldness.
As if nothing had ever happened.
……
“President~”
Veer peeked in cautiously, stepping through the door, and what she saw was Celicia, draped in a light-colored gown, her demeanor cold and noble, every strand of hair perfectly befitting her title of princess.
—
Truly worthy of being the president…
Looking at this extraordinarily beautiful and ethereal girl, Veer couldn’t help but be mesmerized, secretly sighing.
How foolish of me to have thought last night that the president could be taken advantage of by Mu En Campbell!
Just look at the president, untouched by any filth, like a treasure sculpted by the hands of a deity. How could she, even as my fiancé, ever be tainted by that scoundrel Mu En Campbell?
There’s not a shred of possibility.
The president is the president, forever pure and aloof, like a snow lotus standing proudly alone on a high mountain, disdainful of the dirt of this world.
That’s why I admire her so much.
At that moment, Veer instinctively surveyed the chaotic room.
She couldn’t help but click her tongue in amazement.
Look at this shattered table, chairs, and stools; look at the scattered documents everywhere; and then look at this bed that seems to have been trampled by two rampaging elephants, completely collapsing under the weight.
Mu En Campbell, were you treated like a punching bag by the president last night, casually sparred with for hundreds of rounds?
Thinking of this, Veer couldn’t help but feel an endless pity in her heart.
Mu En Campbell, given how miserable you are, I promise to speak less ill of you in the future!
Just as she was lost in thought, Veer suddenly felt a cold gaze, her round face instantly stiffening, revealing a pitiful expression:
“President~”
Selicia looked at Veer coldly, “Veer, you ran pretty fast last night.”
“I-I was just worried about the president.”
Veer blinked and explained:
“If the president lost control and accidentally caused some serious consequences, once you wake up, you would definitely feel guilty. So as your secretary, of course, I have to proactively avoid those possibilities.”
“Then what does it mean to lock Mu En Campbell in with you?”
At this point, the usually composed Selicia couldn’t help but grit her teeth, “Is this also to avoid losses?”
“Mm-hmm.”
Veer nodded her little head vigorously, matter-of-factly saying:
“As long as Mu En Campbell attracts your attention, there won’t be any unnecessary losses, right? The result isn’t bad at all; this time the president didn’t even directly demolish the house.
And besides…”
As she spoke, Veer pouted, a look of disdain on her face:
“With Mu En Campbell’s strength, he can’t really do anything to the president, can he? It’s simply perfect!”
“…”
Looking at the naive Veer, Selicia was almost exasperated.
Yes, indeed, he hadn’t been able to do anything to her.
He had only been ruthlessly ravaged by her for three hours.
It really wasn’t a big deal! (gritting her teeth)
“Forget it.”
Celicia took a deep breath, once again calming the emotions that threatened to spiral out of control at the mere thought of that guy.
She had no intention of punishing Veer, as it would only make her feel guilty, as if she were the one in the wrong.
“What about that guy? Is he dead?”
“Mu En Campbell? No, but he seems to have passed out. Should we treat him?”
Veer kindly suggested.
But unexpectedly, Celicia reacted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, her tone growing cold again:
“Why should I treat him? Let him die!”
“Oh, um… okay.”
Veer was taken aback.
But her feelings of pity only grew stronger.
Poor Mu En Campbell, in such a miserable state, and the president wouldn’t even give him treatment.
It seems that guy is indeed disliked by the president.
“Help me tidy up the documents.” Celicia exhaled deeply and then instructed.
The broken tables, chairs, stools, and bed from her “fierce battle” with that guy were really not a big deal.
But the problem was that the documents she had painstakingly organized yesterday were now scattered everywhere due to their antics.
Just the “hand-to-hand combat” likely wouldn’t damage the documents, but having to reorganize so many would still be a tedious task.
“Okay.”
Veer naturally had no objections. Having not received the punishment she expected, she hummed a little tune and happily began her work for the day.
“Eh?”
Just as she was tidying up, Veer suddenly made a puzzled sound.
She held a document in her hand, scrutinizing it, a big question mark forming on her forehead.
“This document… why does it have signs of being wet? Coffee? No, this doesn’t look like coffee.
And…”
Veer leaned down to sniff the document,
“It just feels like this smell is a bit strange, musky…”
“Veer!”
A sharp and annoyed shout interrupted Veer’s thoughts. Celicia snatched the document from her hand, a hint of barely noticeable crimson appearing on her delicate face.
“You don’t need to organize the documents anymore, go clean the bathroom!”
“Eh? Why?”
Weier was bewildered, not even noticing Celicia’s unusual behavior.
The bathroom?
So big!
All by myself?
“Because that guy has soaked in the bathroom, I don’t like it, hurry up!”
“…Oh.”
Although the president’s disdain for Mu En Campbell made Weier a bit happy, the thought of having to clean such a large bathroom all alone made her face fall.
So much so that all those strange thoughts from earlier vanished without a trace.
“President~” Weier still wanted to act cute.
“No asking others for help, no using magic, just go!”
Celicia shot her a cold glare, “If I find even a hint of that guy’s scent left in the bathroom, I’ll strip you bare and throw you into that guy’s room!”
“Ugh…”
Upon hearing this, Weier couldn’t help but let out a silent wail deep inside.
I really do hate you.
Damn Mu En Campbell!
……
After everything was properly handled, Celicia heard a knock on the door.
“At this time…”
Glancing at the sky, she understood:
“Here they come after all?”
With no one else in the courtyard to command, she went to open the door herself.
Outside, a royal knight clad in golden patterned armor knelt respectfully upon seeing Celicia:
“Your Highness.”
“Mm.”
Celicia nodded lightly,
“Here to see Mu En Campbell?”
“Yes.”
The knight nodded, “By the order of His Majesty.”
“He’s over there.”
Celicia pointed to the nearby wall, where beneath the collapsed bricks, a graceful backside defiantly faced the heavens, as if protesting against this unjust world.
The knight in golden armor showed no change in expression; he merely nodded slightly toward Celicia. From behind him emerged two squire knights, carrying a stretcher, swaying as they approached the wall.
The two men pulled Mu En from the pile of bricks and placed him on the stretcher, still maintaining the position of his raised backside, then swayed their way out of the courtyard.
“Well then, I shall take my leave, Your Highness.”
The knight respectfully took his leave.
“Mm.”
Celicia nodded gently, but as if a thought struck her, she suddenly said,
“By the way.”
“What does Your Highness command?”
“There’s a river over there.”
Celicia pointed in a certain direction and coldly said, “Before you let him see Father… first, throw him into the river for a good rinse.”
