The World's most Overpowered Side-Character

Chapter 455: All Hail The Sovereign.

"Of course he can," Ikaris answered the random person who had asked, not bothering to glance over her shoulder at him. "He is Sol Vestic, is there anything conceivable that Master cannot do?" She huffed, and with her question Dina smiled and scoffed glad to have the old Ikaris back.

"Besides, that woman is still alive, he would never leave and allow her to attack or escape."

"Forgive me," Ikaris addressed those around her. "I behaved akin to a child, it is shameful."

"And yet we underanstand very clearly how you feel," Xie responded before Dr'ul could. "Sovereign is worth worry with the reckless way he fights, but after witnessing his battles through the system I have come to understand that he never; even when he is losing his mind... He never does anything without a failsafe, he even withheld certain attacks from the Demon god of Atla in case his last moments were false."

"This is true." Ikaris added. "He has an entire roster of skills and powers that none of us have ever seen, he confided this in me a while ago; powers best left unused that he crafted within moments of partial insanity, skills that if he used them now would potentially make him as lethal as Giza is deadly."

"Good heavens," Yu sucked in a breath, as did Xie who understood now why Sol was desperate to kill Umbra before he became any stronger.

"Whatever Master knows or created before leaving Atla, so too does his doppelganger." Dina mused with a trickle of sweat rolling down her cheek. "He is far too dangerous to be left alive with the path he has chosen.

"It is finally fading away," Yu gestured to the diatance where the folded mass of chaotic energies began spitting itself back out as it rapidly dissipated. "Is the Third General still alive even now?" She asked, watching Jena slowly float staring beyond the stars with them.

"Yes, the Third still lives, her current state though is, unusual."

"Unusual how?" Ikaris raised her brow

"You..." Rasha stood before Sol with a small smile on her face, her feet solidly placed upon a small stone platform and his the same. "I hate you, I have never truly hated any creature as much as I hate you, I am appalled by the sight and thought of you, a Godslayer who could contest me in power after I had reigned as the strongest for aeons."

"Your words do not match your expression, Sol replied to her, the two of them had shattered their vessels entirely standng before each other in forms made of pure mana and glowed brightly, Sol with the golden glow he had become renowned for and her with a faint blue glow that strongly clashed with his.

"That is because I respect you as much as I hate you for having such power, I had assumed that the man chosen by the Grey, chosen by Ikaris would amount to entitled scum, but the power you have displayed here today is unlike anything ever seen in the Grand collective before, how many people do you think died in your attempt to defeat me, how many worlds disappeared from reality?"

"It is inconsequential," Sol answered her stoically and the woman turned her head with a half smile again. "I achieved my goal."

"Hypocrite, you dare say such a thing even though you let me live."

"What matters is that I won, I overcame your power and became many times stronger from this fight." He continued staring, void of regret. "And yet..." Sol narrowed his eyes, looking down at a sword made of light that was bedded in her chest while her mana flickered and withered slowly as she was sealed away into the Grey.

"Yes," Rasha nodded resting her hand on the hilt of the sword and slowly taking a knee when it became hard to stand. "My Master is far beyond your reach, if you are the heavens then he is the magnificence that holds the pillars of heaven itself afloat. "She looked up at him almost apologetically. "Emperor Zan'el would still kill you in seconds."

"As I thought." Sol nodded taking a knee before her and resting his hand over hers. "Over the course of a few days, the Grey will eat away at your mana and turn you into a powerless woman, a human. At that point I will release you to live the rest of your mortal life amongst my people within my collective none of my allies will know of your existence."

"You will be unknown, given one fragile life where you can easily die if you make the wrong decision, but you can also live happily, find love, start a family even."

"Why go through the trouble? ...Is this atonement for my sins, Sol Vestic?" Rasha chuckled nervously, watching as flesh began forming again over her body from his contact leaving her nude before him.

"No, this is me taking the burden of the Emporium off your shoulders and setting you free, a mercy I will offer nobody else." Sol responded. "From one Godslayer to another, as the strongest." He smiled warmly watching the tears she had tried hiding as they slipped down her cheeks and she began weeping.

"I thought the only way to be free was through death, but none have ever bested me, and the few who could were forbidden by Master." She raised her hands with a grunt when the blade that was bedded in her form was harmlessly tugged free, taking the excess mana with it.

"Will I remember anything?"

"You will." Sol stood and rested his hand on her head sighing as the woman held it there and closed her eyes. "You will remember that you betrayed Ikaris and caused the downfall of the Vatui, you will remember that you spent ages a slave to Zan'el's rule unable to be free and following his every word.

"Will I remember ...you?"

"Yes, you will remember every instance of life you ever experienced, every bit of pain and regret you endured through it all and you will have one life to live with this guilt, wether it consumes you is your choice."

"Sol Vestic, the man I hate the most, I will offer you a mercy as you have offered me one." She stared at him as a portal made of his mana began taking her in.

"Forget Zan'el and go back to wherever you were before, run away from that madman, the power he wields is akin to death itself." She warned him.

"I wish Zan'el was my primary concern." Sol smiled staring down at her. "My real target is Umbra and more importantly Giza," Sol admitted. "I don't know the power the Emperor holds but I know Giza is powerful enough to kill even him." He admittedclosing his eyes as his vessel was restored in a flash.

"Why chase such a monster?"

She asked, now just a head slipping through.

"Because the bitch intends to end all life and return the void to black, and I want to see my little girl grow up into a beautiful flower like her motherI want to be there for her until I have to say goodbye to her husband."

"All this just to see a child grow?"

"Is there any greature pleasure as a father?" Sol asked catching a glimpse of her smile once more before the portal vanished.

He stood there for a few more minutes afterwards, watchning thr expanding phenomena around him and then shaking his head of stray thoughts, stronger was an understatement, he now had a double crown on his chest and another double on his back, he had grown a hundredfold in strength.

"Still not enough to kill him." He mused just before Alpha appeared at his side taking his hand and examining it.

"Master, you disappeared from me for a few minutes, I had contemplated announcing your death to the others but decided not to on account of Rasha Silva's fading mana, I am relieved that my doubts have become unfounded." She smiled and released his hand floating off and looking around.

"If I had not made the calculations myself I would never consider a scaled event as this magnitude possible... never." She mused and then looked at him and the loops that made crowns on his back and before him.

"Next time just believe a little, Alpha." Sol chuckled, leaving her with a headpat and whiskilg away in a flash of light, appearing at Ikaris's side with a pop of mana, startling the woman as she yelped and then grabbed him in a hug while everyone else did a double-take before collectively releasing the breath they had been holding.

"The damage this time was too extensive," Sol admitted to what the General had called him out on, while most of the sectors were barren, there indeed was a world in the early stages of sentience that had been destroyed by him. "We've reached stages of power too great to fight on this scale, if I had fought in a busy or central sector there would have been innumerable deaths."

"We were lucky that we chose to remain in Buche's domain for this fight, anywhere else would have seen a loss of life on such a scale we would have been rightfully demonised as monsters." Ikaris nodded, though her forehead remained pressed against his chest.

"All Hail the Sovereign." Sol heard, and turned to find Xie on his knee before him, and everyone else also in the motion of taking a knee as well. "Master Vestic, I know this might sound strange coming from me of all people, but I am elated that you chose to remain in the light," The man spoke nervously.

"With the power you now wield it is no assumption to say all would be lost had you in your darkest moments decided to collude with the dark being you now intend to vanquish from the face of the collective."

"We dodged a bullet there." Dina admitted, taking a knee at his side while Ikaris released him and did the same.

"We hail the advocate fo light."
