Chapter 70 The Wolf's Theory
The fast-moving blade struck the distortion, sending a noticeable wave of energy to disperse from the blade and infused into the rift. The imbued energy caused the rift to become malleable and merge back into the world, resembling the aftermath of the repeated strikes of the wolf. However, the witch hat's attack caused it to blend back into the world instead of softening and warping.
The force of the attack pushed the air, creating a small gust of wind. The breeze caused the witch hat to float into the air. However, before the witch hat could be swept away by the wind and into one of the rifts, it was saved and caught in the jaws of the wolf leader.
Lucia and the leader wolf landed safely on the ground. The wolf placed the hat on the ground, and once they settled, they combined their findings. The wolf looked at the witch hat in awe of its power, saying, "The distortion you struck instantly turned into sludge with that blade and contraption you created." Even with my power, using human-made weapons, it took several strikes from those to make the distortion I was battling become like that."
Lucia made a mental note of the keywords mentioned by the wolf, but she decided not to dwell on them and instead focused on the present. "What have you found with the distortion you were testing? I doubt I've discovered anything that you wouldn't already know." Lucia said. After saying that, Lucia quickly added, "Could I ask what you found out?" The wolf nodded and explained what it knew. "Based on my findings, the distortion seems impervious unless struck by a material object. I tested the distortion by shooting a bit of raw nature at it. But instead of affecting the distortion as your earlier attack did, it came back at me with even more force as if retaliating. But when I used a material vessel forming dirt into a human weapon and imbuing it with nature's energy, it seemed effective, although weak compared to your previous attack."
Lucia was surprised to hear that she needed a material vessel and interrupted the wolf's explanation. "That's strange since the energy blade wrapped in nature I unleashed didn't retaliate. What could be the reason for the difference between your power and mine?" The wolf responded to the hat's doubt with uncertainty. It said, "The lack of rebound could be due to the high speed of the strike and the fact that you condensed your aura into a knife-like shape, unlike mine, which was just a show of raw power." After a momentary pause, "Maybe I was wrong about that theory."
