Scout vs Mage Part 2
Chapter 62 Scout vs Mage Part 2
When the wolf, surrounded by a whirlwind of wind, grass, leaves, and sharp objects, saw that the opposing wolf had prepared itself, it directed the cyclone accurately toward the other wolf. The opposing wolf then used its gathered wind to swiftly increase its speed, enabling it to dodge the initial attack. However, hidden behind the elaborate cyclone attack were many smaller versions of the attack. The wolf spotted them while in the air in the peripheral of its vision and managed to narrowly avoid the assault by contorting its body. The attack missed, only nicking some of its furs.
After landing on the ground, the wolf immediately started running toward the magic-oriented wolf and swiftly closed in. But before it could attack, the magic-wielding wolf suddenly vanished, transforming into clumps of leaves and grass. The leaves slowly drifted to the ground, capturing the wolf's attention as it watched intently. The magic-wielding wolf did not miss this opportunity and quickly conjured blades of air filled with clumps of grass, releasing them to fly toward the wolf.
The battle ended at that moment. The wounded wolf only sustained minor injuries, which could be healed in a few hours or even in a few minutes if the wolves used their power over nature to extract the life essence from the surrounding forest and imbue it into the wolf. However, the wolves chose not to do that, as it would have been a needless waste of nature's bounty.
The mage wolf hurriedly ran over to the wolf lying on the ground, worried that it might have severely injured the prone wolf. The mage wolf thought it might have put too much power into the attack since the other wolf was still lying on the soft dirt. However, its concerns were needless, as the fallen wolf jumped back up joyfully. When they turned around, both wolves looked at each other and gave a simple nod, accompanied by a quick bark, conveying their mutual respect.
Lucia was amazed as she watched the entire duel. It was a completely new experience for the witch hat, who had only recently left the inside of the ruin. She was especially fascinated by the way the wolves before her fought. They used the magic of a completely different nature from her and how she had seen Aleshia use hers. Intrigued by their magic, Lucia attempted to manipulate the surrounding nature as the green wolves did. But after a while, there was no evidence of anything like that happening. Despite this, she persevered and kept at it.
